I understand that a lot of his fans are not english speakers, so they might think that these two words are the same thing so they get the meaning wrong.
Idolize : admire, love greatly or excessively, worship
Idealize : regard or represent as PERFECT or better than reality
Dimash has never said that he doesn't want his fans to idolize him (coming to the airports, giving flowers, screaming when he's around, taking pics, etc). In fact, in a lot of occassions he said that he was very thankful to the fans who greet him everywhere 😊
He doesn't want his fans to idealize him. Why does he say this? It's because some of his fans are shaping him into an IDEAL figure... a God, an Angel, a PERFECT human being, someone who never gets angry, someone who never makes mistakes, someone who is so clean and pure etc. These are the things that he doesn't want. He's trying to tell people that he is an ordinary human being (with spectacular talents of course 😉). Idealizing someone does more bad than good. You'll get angry when that someone acts differently, you'll blame other people when that someone acts out of the box. You critisize that person heavily and telling him/her to do things according to what you want (your ideal) and what's worse, acts as if you know what that person is thinking 😅 you see his/her actions according to your own perception (while most of the time it's not the case 😅) and get annoyed with other fans because of that.
I have seen a lot of arguments and negativities happen because of this idealizing thing 😔
I hope it will get better but as his fandom grows, things might get worse instead 😅
Anyway, there you have it. IDOLize vs IDEALize. Hopefully there will be no more of spreading the wrong translation/meaning from this interview 😊
