Did someone say “The first day of Spring”??? Well, we still have snow on the ground and the temperature is still under 0°C so we have to wait a few more days for spring colors. No complaints though, the sun is out and it’s a beautiful day. And we always have a bright bunch of radishes to add color to our lives 😊

In the Vedas, Apsaras are beautiful celestial water nymphs, beings living in Indra’s heaven.
(Indra is the god of the heavens, lightning, thunder, storms, rains and river flows). The Apsaras live in the clouds or in water and dance to the music made by the Gandharvas, the court musicians of Indra, usually in the palaces of the gods, entertain and sometimes seduce gods and men. As ethereal beings who inhabit the skies, and are often depicted taking flight, or at service of a god, they may be compared to angels.
Traditionally, in paintings the Apsaras were artistically depicted as swans, due to their mutual connection with water.
One of the most popular artistic mediums used to represent the Apsaras is dance, originating with the Devadasis (servants of God). MaNN Vasanai (Tamil = Scent of the Earth)
