“It is finished” John 19:30
It was just a year ago when I was driving on the freeway that I heard God call me to move home. It was just a year ago that I decided to leave behind all that I had grown to love and all the friendships I had built based off of two simple words, “Go home”.
. . .
I remember today the pain I felt as I mourned the place and the people that I would soon leave behind, but knowing so deeply that I was needed somewhere else. So I left. I blindly left Boise not knowing where I would go or what would become of my future. I spent one month in Cambodia, on a mission trip, where I tried and tried to make different plans for my life, while each of them felt through. It wasn’t until I truly went home, that I finally found my place again. I spent the next few months of my life knowing that wherever God placed me, was exactly where I was supposed to be, and I treated it as such. Those months were probably some of the best months of my life.
Over and over again God placed opportunities at my doorstep and answered prayers that had become a routine in the back of my mind. I no longer had to worry about school, He gave me a job that would pay for it completely. I no longer wondered what my career would look like, I gained more clients than I ever had in just months, and I made the decision to go full time into photography when I graduate. I went back to my church, I joined worship, I slowly grew (and am still growing) into leadership, I met my best friend, I gained another family in Christ. God healed wounds I didn’t even know I had, and spent months growing me and strengthening me for my next season.
. . .
So today I sit in remembrance of the never ending grace and love He has for us. As John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
So even when our lives seem too far gone just remember that He is still there, working, sometimes it just takes a little more for us to hear Him.
The Exchange District has so many unique photo opportunities and diversity from street to street. The surrounding buildings have TONS of character. The old bricks and unique doorways keep me coming back time and time again. It’s one of my favourite places in Winnipeg to shoot in fact.👌🏼
Seven weeks until these two cuties tie it up! 💍
What you get when 3 LSU alums spend the morning exploring the Quarter.
(The LSU part wasn't really relevant it's just been a while since I reminded y'all that I'm a Tiger and that's unlike me.)
PS: Sony 😍😍
It’s not every weekend that I get to photograph the wedding of someone I’ve known for years, so I felt incredibly lucky to have the chance to document + celebrate Kendall & Jake saying their vows on Saturday. Kendall had mentioned that landscape-style portraiture was her favorite thing, and the world somehow heard her - this day went from rain, clouds, & gray to the wildest, most beautiful mix of skies in three hours flat. And it was so, so magical. Congrats you guys!!

Celebração da morte de Cristo. Reunião mais que especial ♥️
Nossa primeira juntos 😍
These two are so so stunning and ooze kindness and charisma. We love them so much and so so sad they don’t live in AZ. Also, his tie was made of various types of bird feathers and was easily the coolest tie I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
*Insert some sort of punny joke about a getaway car and driving into the weekend* But in all seriousness, @dayton24’s wedding last weekend blew my mind and I had a freaking blast being a tipsy wedding guest while still being able to second shoot with the mega babe @carissamariephotography_ . If I could do it all over again minus the biting ants, I would 100x. Let’s bring on the 2019 WEDDING SZN 👊🏻
I’ve always had the shortest lashes, and y’all the lash extension invention has been a freakin’ game changer for me. Obsessed with my girl @lashvixenatx — seriously have never felt more confident than when my lashes are poppin. I don’t wear makeup 98% of the time so having these lashes is 👌🏼👌🏼 Photo by @dawn.charles 💖

I can’t help myself, but to keep posting from this maternity session. They’re just so damn beautiful! And such good kind people. 🖤
Introduction Friday anyone?? Alright. HEY, my name is Chelsea and I'm a wedding and elopement photographer living in Portland, Oregon. I’ve been a photographer for nearly 10 years now and an Oregon resident for only a few months. I’m originally from a small coastal town in Washington, but I’ve bounced around the Pacific Northwest a few times throughout the years in attempt to find my place in the world, both literally and figuratively. Quite simply, I’m just trying to do and see more things and I’m grateful to have a career that helps me do just that! When I’m not doing the photo thing, you can find me hanging out on the coast, drinking a few @fortgeorgebeer IPAs with some friends, cooking up some delicious vegetarian meals, or figuring out what type of bread I am with the help of the buzzfeed app. When I’m on the road, I’m probably aggressively singing to sweet 80s jams or humming along to some Shakey Graves. When I’m just lounging around at home, you can catch me watching Catfish or Guy’s Grocery Games for the millionth time while drinking coffee til it’s acceptable to switch to beer. Aaaaand when I’m not doing any of those things, I’m more than likely planning my next shoot or my next roadtrip, or let’s be real, both! Now tell me something about YOU. I’m ready. 📸: @lindseyparadisophoto

The unexpected is usually what brings the unbelievable.✨
These last few weeks have felt like a rollercoaster of emotions!🎢 First, I thought I was staying in Oregon, then it was Nevada, then Oregon, then back again. Every day there was another piece of information that made me change my decision!! Butttt, UNR presented me an offer I just can’t refuse, funding + a paid teaching assistantship. So, I officially accepted their offer and turned down UO. It was prob one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make😭! I’m so sad to leave Oregon so soon, but I guess I’m meant to be back home. 🧡
