As you know by now, dental students at UNE do not wear scrubs in clinic. Our dress code is business professional and honestly I couldn’t be happier. I truly believe that the way we dress affects the way we think, feel, act, and most importantly, the way others react to us. Also, I just really enjoy fashion and dressing up 😋

A lot of doctors are more comfortable wearing scrubs to practice, such as the office I am shadowing surgery at. My new @uniformadvantage scrubs are both incredibly comfortable and still make me feel super cute with the radiant orchid color pop and trendy jogger style!!

  • 5 things no one tells you about nursing school:

1.) Late nights, early mornings. Pre requisites and general education might have been a breeze for you, but once you starting your nursing classes, be prepared to hit the ground running. (Especially those of us, like me, who are in accelerated BSN programs). The curriculum is tough and it requires so much time, energy and effort. BUT- it’s DOABLE. If this is your passion, you make it happen!! 2.) Burnout. Nursing burnout is real. And it’s so prevalent in the healthcare community. Make sure you are taking care of you FIRST. Otherwise, how do you expect to care for your future patients? Get adequate sleep, make sure you’re eating healthy, and get some exercise in!

3.) Money Money Money. Nursing school is NOT cheap. It can even creep up into six figures for some programs. For a lot of people, this is the game changer. Remember this: It’s an investment. Anything worth having in this life requires time (and usually money). Thankfully you’re entering a career where you will ALWAYS have a job and you will be making enough to support yourself and you will be able to pay back those loans. It will take time, but your education is worth it.

4.) Cynicism and dark humor. Oh, believe me. Most of the nurses I’ve met have the best, most cynical humor ever. With the trauma and suffering nurses see throughout their shifts it’s almost impossible to get through it without having some sense of humor. 
5.) Friends for life. Nursing is a unique environment. You will meet lifelong friends that cry together, eat together, sleep together, poop together- basically everything. Keep an open mind and have a positive attitude when it comes to making friends.. Also- remember to choose your tribe wisely! 
Lastly, remember WHY you started this journey. It’s tough and emotional and overwhelming. But I promise you, it will be worth it!!

  • Welcome to Agra! Most people have probably never heard of Agra, but I’m sure you’ve heard of the Taj Mahal? Agra is a city 3 hours South of New Delhi that the Taj Mahal is in! Most tourists just come for the day on a bus trip to see the Taj Mahal, then leave. We decided to get the train to Agra and stay for 2 days to explore more of the city, and we loved it! Agra Fort is beautiful, we went to the local markets and I bought a cute pashmina to wear to the Taj Mahal tomorrow and literally everywhere we eat here is 🤤🤤🤤🤤 so glad we decided to stay for a few days!

And if you rely on motivation you’ll never reach your goals. As simple as that. If you really want to change you have to wake up each day even if you don’t feel like dieting or working out and just not think about it or your feelings towards it and just get shit done. Like it shouldn’t even be a conversation in your head as if you are gonna do this or do that. You just simply do it because you know in order reach your goals this is what you have to do.   • 🆕👋 Your entire life can change in a year. I know because my entire life has changed (again) in the past year... And I feel like a year from now, it will only change even more! In the Spring I moved to Florida for my job, (which also changed because I went from a Global role to the North America team) and lived with my best friend Yolanda 😘. In August, my 8-year partnership with Jeunesse ended. I moved all of my stuff from FL to PA ✈️ I found out I was pregnant. 🤰Got engaged. 💍 Planned a wedding in 2 weeks. 💒 Got married. 🤳Started a new business. 👩‍💻 The moral of the story is to embrace uncertainty. These are the things that make you battle-tested. 💪 These moments are what build your confidence and make you TOUGH AS HELL. So when live throws you a curveball you don't curl up and back down because you've been there before and you're totally up for the challenge! We can take a moment to enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible, and I'm really into unlimited possibilities. 💖

  • Good Morning‼️‼️ I am going to start posting quotes and things that I write to myself. I am a very reflective person by nature. And can be very vocal. Sometimes I use to die down my personality and the things that I want to say because of what other people might say. I learned this year that it only matters what you say about yourselves. You are the only person that knows what’s best for you. You are the only person that can change YOUR life. You should be the only person and are the only person that can stop your hustle.

  • You’ve been going to the gym day by day and you can’t seem to pinpoint why you aren’t getting results.

There are countless reasons why you aren’t getting the results you want.

1- What’s your food intake look like? Remember: 70% nutrition, 30% exercise. You can never outrun a bad diet....

2- Are you overtraining? Are you not allowing your body to get its proper rest for recovery?

3- Remember: sleep & stress also play a HUGE role in your fitness journey!

4- Are you doing the exact same things every workout? Maybe you need to change things up! Our muscles have memory and they adapt to any stress we put them under!

5- Are you consistent? Going to the gym only once a week or when you feel like it won’t give you the results you’re looking for!!

6- Your fitness lifestyle is a JOURNEY! It’s not a “one week shred”. Results come overtime when you’re consistent! .
