  • “A lot of bass players who are solo artists are just sitting there waiting for their solos. But for me, I’m doing just as much work when I’m playing behind you—sometimes more work. It’s a shame that a lot of young bass players don’t recognize how important driving a band is. But that’s what a bass player does, man. You drive the band.” - Marcus Miller (@therealmarcusmiller) on the role of the bass player during an interview with Dunlop (@jimdunlopusa).

  • I’ve never felt like I’ve had a voice on my instrument. I want to change that so I’m starting to set aside time to explore and develop. Here’s a little Sunday afternoon worship

If this doesn’t make you wanna shake your butt and awkwardly gyrate all your limbs, I do not consider you human. 🍑

  • Acrylic dream of the 70s:
Renaissance - Lucite Bass 1978 - ultra rare "Smoked Lucite"
-
This small company that produced only 300 instruments among basses of which only 100 guitars, made entirely by hand based in Pennsylvania U.S.A.
-
The founder of the company was John Marshall who intervened locally under Eric Schulte, together with Augie LoPrinzi of New Jersey, the company lasted from 1977 to 1980, he wanted to specialize in plexiglass instruments, given the fashion of the late sixties and seventies; they all try a little, from EKO to Fender to Ampeg etc. but nevertheless this type of instruments never had the favor of the public.
-
The bass had two active Di Marzio p-bass pickups and was very heavy. For the sound, they say that the body's thermoplastic acrylic material had a good resonance.
-
There were three finishes available: Clear, Smoked and Black.
-
They are very well done with brass hardware, two-piece flamed maple handles that are straight and very playable, ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets, both playing and playing great, testimony of an era where music was passion and experimentation, following the heart and not the laws of the market.

you’re the tightly closed fingers holding in a breath.
If you would stay here with me, one more minute,
I would steal the world.”
