This morning on our walk we saw an escaped retriever sprinting through the neighborhood. We saw it from a block away but it wasn’t coming towards us so Fenrir just observed, which was good of him. After the sighting we looped through the neighborhood a few times, I was hoping we could help find it and get it home but we didn’t see it again. I hope it finds its way home soon!
Mojo has been with us for six months now...
On September 27th 2018 we picked him up with us in the hopes he would be able to return to his home this year. Unfortunately we found out recently that this would not be happening. After months of looking for a solution his family decided that they could not take him back, heartbreaking for everyone involved.
Mojo has taken up an important spot in our pack. He fits in well, gets along great with everyone (especially his sister and Grant), rests with me when I need to, is very well behaved... But despite all of this, we believe that we are not the perfect home for him. He always lived as a single dog and even though he likes our household it can sometimes get in his way as well. We know that we can provide him with a happy home, but we also know he might be even happier somewhere else.
Recently I came in contact with an older couple who lost their sheltie last year and were looking for a new one. On paper they seemed like the perfect family for him and after meeting them (multiple times) we've decided to let them adopt Mojo. It's strange to realize that after all this time he won't be living with us for much longer. Even though that was always the plan, it's still hard. He's part of the pack, he is a delight to have around and part of me wants him to stay... But we shouldn't be selfish and I'm sure his new family will give him a wonderful life. And of course we made them promise us to stay in touch!
We're so happy to have been able to spend this (extra) time with Mojo. It's very important for me to know that all the #SpecialPrincess pups have good homes but can also always come back when they need to. They might not live here anymore but they will always be my babies, werther they're 8 weeks or years old!
Here's to the next few final days together as our long term guest, let's make them count! ❤ | #Sheltie#honden#dogs#instadogs#dogstagram#dogsofinstagram#tricoloursheltie#ShetlandSheepdogs#sheltiesofinstagram#sheltiegram#sheltielove#instasheltie#shetlandsheepdogsofinstagram#tricolorsheltie#doglover#doggies#shetlandsheepdoglovers#sheltiesofig#sheltiepage#sheltiefamily#proudbreeder
