  • We made it to Friday 🍭
.
I often get sent messages asking whether certain foods are "bad" or "fattening"🤔 so let's break this down a bit; 🍫🥗Before you even start to diet there should be no foods that you view as good/bad because that can lead to a negative relationship with food before you even start🔥🔥
.
in regards to wether certain foods are more fattening than others? That's not how things work🙅🏼 yes some foods may be more calorie dense🍩 where as others are more nutrient dense🍓 but to gain fat,you need to be eating in a caloric surplus....technically you could live off doughnuts and you'd still lose weight if you maintained a caloric deficit (however that is not recommended, at all👀) but you'd get a lot less volume of food and not many nutrients at all 🥗
.
It's important to include both in your diet for your physical health🏃🏼‍♀️ and your mental sanity💭 so maintain a healthy diet 80% of the time but don't forget to have a treat and occasionally listen to those cravings🍫

  • Can you eat meals out whilst still reaching your goals? The simple answer is YES. But let me break this down a bit more👐🏼
.
You shouldn’t have to miss out on socialising just because you’re dieting, but here’s a few things to consider if you are eating out whilst trying to reach a *fatloss* goal .
1️⃣Most restaurants now have nutritional information available on the website, so you can always check before to see the calorie the calorie content of the meal you’ll be having
2️⃣once you know the calories in the meal, you can work the rest of your day around it, for example sticking to higher protein lower calorie options throughout the day (this helps if you track your macros/calories)
3️⃣If the calories aren’t available you can always guesstimate by using something like my fitness pal to help you calculate what’s in your meal
4️⃣Choose a “sensible” option. Don’t go ordering a 3 course meal just for the sake of it. Still to a higher protein option if you can with more basic ingredients
5️⃣Consider how the things are cooked. Food out tastes better because 9 times out of 10 they’re fried, cooked in oil/butter etc .
Remember fat loss= calories in vs calories out ⚖️
.
*Disclaimer:these are things you only need to consider with a fatloss goal in mind or eating out regularly and you want to reach a goal. Use these tips as a tool to help you, you have to move by them. It’s still important to include your fave things in your diet without guilt 👐🏼

  • Trying to make progress whilst eating out?🤔
.
Well firstly; please remember it's totally ok to enjoy yourself and have a meal "off plan" because it will not undo all your hard work at all if you're sensible ✌🏼
.
But if you do eat out regularly or are dieting etc there are some tips I can give you;
⏺Go for the grilled protein options instead of fried eg grilled chicken, fish etc ⏺Swap your chips for new potatoes/jacket potatoes ⏺Ask for the sauce on the side (you'd be surprised how much that can add up) ⏺swap your sides for veggies/side salad
⏺Having a "salad" isnt always the healthy option if it's covered in sauce/oil, Croutons, cheese etc the calories can add up so just be aware ⏺Don't be scared to ask because 9/10 restaurants are happy to accommodate
.
This is mainly if you're eating to achieve a certain goal, but remember it's not that serious ✌🏼If you guys have anymore tips/questions then leave them below⬇️

  • Full day of eating in work 🥗🍳
.
90% of the time I eat my meals on the go and had to be prepared to stay on track. This is what a normal day looks like when I work 2-10pm😎
.
Breakfast/preworkout: oats with @myproteinuk toffee flavour drops with @sweetfreedomuk chocolate sauce 🍫
.
Lunch/ Post workout: 3 egg omelette with salmon and veggies🍳🌶
.
Snack: chopped up apple with cinnamon 🍎🍏
.
Dinner:BQQ chicken and rice with a @grenadeofficial carb killer bar for dessert 🍫🍫
.
Last meal:fage Greek yoghurt with flavour drops topped with Rice Krispies, raisins and choc shot 🍫
.
You can still eat a lot of food whilst dieting, which is good for me because I have a big appetite 🙏🏼 so to do this I like to include a lot of HIGH VOLUME foods in my diet👆🏼 This way I get to eat a lot of food, for less calories and still stay full when I’m dieting🥗
.
Some of the foods I include on a daily basis are:
🥦vegetables, aka stirfrys and salads
🍓Fruit
🐠lean protein like fish or chicken
🍿Popcorn
🥛Greek yoghurt
.
These foods are high in volume, low cal and filling at the same time! And by making my diet 80% if these foods always me to fit in the more “calorie dense” foods such as chocolate🍫 which then helps me to curb cravings at the same time🤞🏼

  • Should you track macros🤔 Tracking macros involves hitting your carb, protein and fat for goals for the day 🍩🍗🥑
.
✅Pros;
✔️It can help you to reach your goals within a certain time ✔️It can alllow you to track in foods that you may be craving in moderation ✔️It makes you more aware of the calorie content of certain foods which is a useful skill
.
🔴Cons;
✖️It can be time consuming (but sticking to similar meals will help with that) ✖️You may end up compromising healthy meals to “fit in” certain foods ✖️It isn’t always going to be 100% accurate, especially if you’re eating out
.
However the main thing to consider is doing what works for you. That may be a diet plan, clean eating, or intuitive eating. The important thing is that you do what you can stick too and doesn’t leave you feeling restricted long term 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

  • Let's talk SNACKS shall we🍿
.
Now I don't know about you, but I have THE biggest sweet tooth. I could eat cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner if it wasn't just acceptable on your birthday. 🙃🍰
.
So for me to stay consistent I include sweet snacks like this in my diet on a daily basis, because without it I would feel deprived 😂🍫
.
Some of my favourites of course include @grenadeofficial carb killa 🙌🏼
.
However it's important to remember everything in moderation. My diet mainly consists of whole foods and my main meals especially are made up of lots of micronutrients, a source of protein, and all the good stuff🥗🥗🥗
.
You don't have to restrict anything in your diet you just have to be sensible with your choices and that's what makes in more sustainable in the long run 🙋🏼

.
It’s super simple and The ingredients included:
🍞4 slices of warburton’s wholemeal bread (55 cals per slice)
🥚110g egg whites 🍯@myproteinUK flav drops and sugar free syrup 🥄I would also recommend using a scoop of protein of your choice (I didn’t because I was already high on protein) 🍓🍫Toppings of choice
.
🔹To make simply mix the egg whites with the, protein powder and flavdrops (or a form of sweetener) 🔹Then dip your bread into the mixture, making sure to cover both sides 🔹Preheat a pan to a high heat and then cook the bread on both sides until golden brown and crispy 🔹finish with your toppings of choice .
And then enjoyyyy, let me know if you try it out 😍

  • Are you filling your shopping trolley with the right things? 🤔 let’s be real here, if you’re filling your cupboards with junk food, chocolate, biscuits, sweets etc and convincing yourself you’ll “only have one” before you even leave the shop....you’re setting yourself up for failure 🤷🏼‍♀️
.
Write yourself a list of all the things you need and STICK to that list. Of course unless your buying yourself some extra veggies🥗 I know how easy it is to be swayed by the deals they have in supermarkets these days “£1 for a pack of Oreos” yeh why not 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 but the reality is 4 hours later you’ve eaten the whole pack and you’re back at square one🤔
.
I of course preach everything in moderation but sometimes you’ve gotta day goodbye to the unnecessary snacking. So make sure you stay stocked up on all your healthy staples and make it easier for yourself to adhere to a plan and stay consistent✔️

  • Let's talk liquid calories 🤔☕️
.
Are you aware of how many calories you may be consuming in your drinks?
.
A Coffee cooler with whole milk from Costa contains 188 calories along with a Belgium chocolate cooler with whole milk which can have up to 447 calories, which if you're trying to lose weight is a large amount of calories to be consuming in one go🤷🏼‍♀️
.
To avoid this id either suggest checking out the nutritional information on the website before you order to give you more of an idea of the calorie contents. Order drinks with sugar free syrups or try and change your regular order from whole milk to skimmed or even almond or soy milk. I now personally prefer almond milk in my coffee 🤷🏼‍♀️
.
Or try and make your own healthier alternative;
To make my own iced coffee mix coffee granules with hot water and then pour into a glass of iced water. To sweeten I use the @myproteinuk flavour drops, vanilla and maple are my favourite 🤗 and then I add a dash of almond milk (the only thing you get the calories from) it's a good low calorie alternative, it's cheaper and most importantly tastes great 😍
