One year ago today, I arrived in Toronto, making Canada the 5th country I moved to in 5 years. Maybe I just liked change, maybe I never found the place where I belonged.
One year ago yesterday, there was a problem with my visa so I had to miss my original flight here. Booking a last minute flight from the UK took most of my savings but I knew I needed to get here ASAP.
I arrived with not much more than my hope to succeed in this city. I worked harder than I’ve ever worked, cried heavier than I’ve ever cried and laughed louder than I’ve ever laughed.
The Phoenix tattooed on my arm represents rising from the ground, from the ash. Because endings make for new beginnings after all.
Today I’m smiling brighter than I’ve ever smiled because I’m so happy to call this place home ✨💗
I’ve always been so drawn to the desert. It’s such a foreign beauty to me since I grew up surrounded by the opposite (forests and green... and cold 😂). Anyone else like this? Just obsessed with what you’re not used to... I guess it’s exciting for me 🙈
Japan never considers time together as time wasted. Rather, it is time invested. – Donald Richie
It’s that time of the year again! When pink trees beautify Japan even more, it’s Sakura time! 🌸 🌸 The most anticipated forecasts for Japan and travel lovers – the one calendar that thousands of visitors to Japan plan their travel schedules on. Even while the mountains are still blanketed in snow and everyone are still bundled up in coats, that one reason everyone will go out is to see these pink fluffy trees do it’s magic. 🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸
I am off to invest my time in this wonderful country during cherry blossoms. Heard/read so much about it that it seems unreal. Can’t wait to share the giddy joy I am experiencing! See you soon Japan! 🇯🇵
Welcome to the ROCK
Alcatraz Island is located in San Francisco Bay, 1.25 miles offshore from San Francisco, California, United States. The small island was developed with facilities for a lighthouse, a military fortification, a military prison, and a federal prison from 1934 until 1963.
This place has everything. Quiet dinner in front of sunsets like nothing I’ve seen before, where a short walk after dinner will take you non stop parties. Bars where you can have 🍄 smoothies, great villas, hostels, locals, travellers, white sand beaches with crystal blue water, great snorkelling, turtles.
Truly one of my favourite places, and I cannot wait for my return later this year.

the Arbore we visited en route between Turmi and Jimka. they had one of the most beautiful villages we saw, with taller straw homes utilizing grasses from the nearby water. the women here wore beautiful necklaces that were unique to this tribe. #ethiopia#accessorize

the Karo are one of the more frequently visited of the tribes we’ve encountered due to their proximity to urban areas. this tribe wears many beads and have a unique way of styling the females hair with butter and red ochre so that it looks like small pebbles. this tribe lives in a fertile area right on the Omo River and primarily heards goats which we were able to witness at sunrise. this tribe fancies themselves the best dancers of the Omo. unfortunately we were not able to catch one of these ceremonies on the night we stayed. #ethiopia#pastoralliving
