While success makes us self assured, confident and happy, it is the failures that give us an opportunity to take a deeper look at things and become better learners, and also help us value what we have and stay humble. In a way, our failures contribute more to our overall development than success alone. Then again, an initial shock from a setback takes time to get absorbed and can leave you perturbed.
“When is it the last time you are actually happy?”
Was asked to this question yesterday and hum... I don’t think I have an answer to that.
Recently I’ve be re-examining my emotional status and what I didn’t realize was that some of my defense mechanism is up running. Maybe it’s repression. My guessing of the time being is back when the recession happened in 2009, but the story is too long and it’s not a good night to talk about it. But this lamp kind of gave me a hint that it might be the time to bring out the shadow in me and the light would fix it, would it?
