Expend your energy on what fulfills you, what you desire to plant and sow for the future.
It’s been a long term dream of mine to keep athletes healthy. First I thought my journey would start as an athletic trainer when I graduated high school but the universe took me a different route, a longer but very fulfilling route and I’m grateful for that for so many reasons!
I’m still just getting started, there’s still a lot of work to be done. I’ll never stop learning and fine tuning my craft but to occasionally stop and take in how far I’ve come is truly a blessing. #sportsmedicine#mtsacrelays

🙌 Gotta love cauliflower!!! This amazing cauliflower and corn soup is creamy, delicious and amazing for your liver!! 💪 *
Cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower ( others include broccoli, kale, Brussels sprouts) are inducers of phase I detox pathways, many people know them as CYP enzymes. *
Cruciferous vegetables are also helpful promoters in histamine metabolism which is phase II detox pathway. ( if we have too much histamine that builds up in the system, we can start to have allergies, autoimmune, food intolerances) *
Are you getting your amazing greens daily’s!?? Especially this amazing liver helper!? 🥦🙌❤️👏 *

Any symptoms you experience are manifestations of physiological and psychological changes that are occurring in your body. A diagnostic label, or a diagnosis code, does not dictate your symptoms and should definitely not define your treatment.⠀
Mind you, there are situations where specific treatments are not indicated if you don’t have certain symptoms, but this doesn’t mean that if you don't have that particular symptom that no treatments can be done.⠀
Some of the more common areas I see this approach taken by other physicians:⠀
// subclinical hypothyroidism⠀
// HPA axis dysfunction⠀
// borderline anemia (iron deficiency, b12/folate deficiency)⠀
// subclinical hypogonadism (low sex hormones)⠀
If you're suffering from symptoms and aren't receiving treatment because you don't fit the diagnostic criteria, I recommend you to work with an integrative physician who looks between the lines of health and disease. Between those lines lies a world of untapped healing potential.⠀

Your health is essentially a complex interaction between diet, genetics, and lifestyle.⠀
Building a programmatic approach or method is going to provide more benefits than a monotherapeutic track.⠀
What the heck does that mean?⠀
-Whole food diet (cycling fuel sources)⠀
-Know your genetic SNPs⠀
-Measuring blood markers⠀
-Avoiding toxic chemicals⠀
Monotherapeutics (drug therapies)⠀
-a single supplement for a symptom⠀
-excessive workouts w/o recovery⠀
-months of caloric restriction ⠀
-Using Statin for “high cholesterol”⠀
-Antacids for heartburn⠀
-Metformin for diabetes⠀
-Intravenous NAD+ for mitochondrial health⠀
-Birth control to manage Acne/PMS⠀

Skin Care Checklist:
As we age skin cell turnover slows down and water loss occurs increasing laxity and putting a damper on that fresh glowing look. Drink up!
Antioxidants protect from harmful oxidation. Examples are polyphenols like EGCG found in green tea and flavonoids found in fruits and vegetables. Vitamins like Vitamin D and CoQ10 protect from developing skin cancer. Remove inflammatory foods especially those with excess sugar.
Sunscreen, hats, and clothing block UV radiation that increases your risk of cancer and promotes signs of aging.
Good quality sleep is needed to reduce stress. High stress can increase cortisol promoting inflammation in the body that breaks down proteins needed to keep your skin looking
firm and healthy. Sleep will encourage proper collagen production and help keep your skin hydrated.
✓ Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet rich plasma can stimulate new growth or collagen and elastin, repair damaged skin, and prevent signs of aging. 🤩
I know a lot of you are not fans of gyms, but weight training is a great way to relieve stress, too! It's another form of exercise that gives you an outlet for the buildup of tension and stress. When you lift weights, you not only strengthen your body, you build confidence and self-worth. Strength training helps your body trade fat for muscle mass. That means you'll burn more calories even when you're being a couch potato. Building up both mental and physical strength helps make life easier and thus, eases stress.

How are you celebrating 420 this year? If you are in a profession that requires drug testing, you better be celebrating with CBD ONE from @vasayo_official or you could be in trouble... 🤭❗️
Getting third party lab tests from your CBD brand is so important. I recently heard about a truck driver who was taking CBD that he thought had no THC, but when tested by his job, failed. Luckily his doctor was able to clear things up with his employer so he didn’t lose his job, but many would not be so lucky. 🙅♂️😓
CBD has such amazing health benefits everyone should be taking advantage of. But there’s a lot of garbage out there, so make sure you’re not wasting your money before picking a brand. CBD ONE from Vasayo is the only patented CBD on the market. In order to get a patent you have to PROVE it works, so you know you’re getting the best. Our CBD also uses liposome technology, proving a 80-100% absorption rate so you get the maximum benefits. Most CBD oils will get you 10-30% absorption so the difference is huge. Plus, we have an exclusive with our grower so you know every bottle will be the same great quality. 🧾🔝☑️
If you’re gonna do something do it right. If you’re gonna spend money on something, get your moneys worth. Vasayo has blessed us with the BEST CBD on the market. No TCH, made from all organic non GMO hemp. Patented, third party lab tested, safe for everyone, including kids and pets. You deserve great health, and CBDs wide array of benefits can help you live your best life. 💚🌱

this substance is compromised of proteins primarily found in wheat, rye, and barley. gluten is essentially known as the elasticity of food to help them maintain their shape and acting as a glue that holds that food together.
a common trend on the rise has been a gluten-free diet. In other words, sustaining from any products that contain this substance. Of course there are health purposes such as celiacs disease where the person has a true allergy to gluten. what exactly can it do for general health? why is this the “new diet”?
proteins found in gluten - glutenin, gliadin, and hordein - are highly resistant to the breakdown of protein (by protease enzyme) in the digestive tract. by proteins being incompletely digested, they thus have the ability to make their way through the rest of the body by passing the wall of the small intestine.
The most common disease associated with gluten intolerance is celiacs disease - an inflammatory disease caused by consumption of gluten. this can damage the cells on the wall of the small intestine. It can lead to malabsorption, intestinal damage, and weight loss. Others include wheat allergy and non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Symptoms of wheat allergy include nausea and life threatening anaphylaxis. Symptoms of non-celiac include headache, fatigue, and joint pain.
Benefits of a gluten-free diet:
• Ease digestion
• provide increased energy
• promote fat loss
• decrease inflammation
• improve symptoms and autism
• ease symptoms associated with improper digestion
Some gluten-free options:
• brown rice
• nuts and seeds
• beans and legumes
• fruit and veggies
• nut flour(s)
Talk to your naturopathic doctor or regular medical care provider about the effects of gluten. They can give you in depth detail about a gluten-free diet and it’s pros & cons.

Studies show that interacting with animals (animal therapy) reduces stress! 🐶
This is because playing with them increases oxytocin, which is a hormone that reduces stress, and decreases cortisol, a stress hormone. Another study found that patients facing mental stress could reduce their blood pressure if they had a pet, while patients without a pet had higher blood pressure and higher stress. Interacting with therapy animals is definitely a great to way to combat stress, but playing with your own pet will also lower your stress levels!

Easter means lots of eggs (of the chocolate kind). But this Easter, we're highlighting the health benefits of real eggs (of the chicken kind). Whole eggs are a great source of protein, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals (such as vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, folic acid and iron) . The yolk contains choline, which is good for brain plasticity and may help protect you from memory loss and other signs of cognitive decline as you age . Despite being associated with raising blood cholesterol in the past, research has now shown that this is, in fact, not the case for the majority of people . How do you prefer to eat your eggs? https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/healthyliving/Eggs

Regardless of what diet you're on, if you desire optimal health, trans fat foods gotta go 👉🏼🗑🚮
These foods also happen to be ultra-processed and never before seen by the human body throughout our evolution.
These foods also disrupt the microbiome and cause inflammation in the gut, which ultimately creates full-body inflammation and may lead to mental/emotional dysfunction. They create an overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria in the gut which feed on the toxic foods; this leaves the consumer craving to eat even more of the foods. It's a vicious cycle 💀
If you're trying to lose weight, make sure to avoid these foods because they are extremely calorie-dense while being micronutrient-poor (devoid of vitamins and minerals) - the perfect recipe for overweight status and obesity!
Which of these trans fatty foods is hardest for you to give up? Let us know in the comments 👇🏼👇🏼

Daily Healthy Habit #4
Take care of your health with a bath!
Did you know that warm bath make the blood flow easier? Taking a hot bath/spa can help one to kill bacteria by improving immunity. Therefore, those of you who have cold or flu symptoms, try to take a hot bath for stuffy noses and coughs. There is no quicker way to regulate your body temperature than bathing! I will also cleanse your skin and moisturizing is a plus! Obviously, settling into warm water may help you elevate your mood because you can feel combination of isolation, quietness and comfort! Taking bath doesn’t cost you a lot of money and all it takes is warm/hot water!
P.S. - our friend monkey loves it too!
Not a fan of the gym? You’ll be glad to learn that walking is a great way to combat stress 🚶♀️ Studies have shown that people who regularly walked had lower stress levels compared to people who spent their time sitting down and people who intensely exercised. There are a couple reasons why walking often is good for you! For example, walking through a green area puts the brain into a meditative state. Faster walking increases endorphins, which reduces stress hormones, and walking also increases a person’s energy by 20% and reduces their fatigue by 65%. You can simply walk regularly from places you need to be; no need to get into your workout clothes!
Here's my tips for a great Easter. Hope you are all having a brilliant long weekend!
1. Make sure to keep hydrated, it's easy to forget when you are distracted by socializing, eating & drinking! •
2. It's only easter once a year so having some chocolate if you want is no biggie! Have it, enjoy it and don't feel guilty! •
3. Making sure you are topped up with all your water and fat soluble vitamins can help keep you energized, help it detoxify any nasties and make sure you don't get depleted whilst not being on your normal (probably healthier) diet! I have even doubled my dose of Multifood as here in southern hemispere autumn is in full swing! •
4. Take some time for self-care. Easter can be busy with lots of social and family events. Take some time out to have a bath, journal, get into nature or anything else that fills your cup so you feel rested after the holidays. •
5. If you are already taking Gut Right you might want to increase dosage if you have dug into the chocolate (I know I have!) to help curb cravings and keep your gut bugs in check. If you havn't tried Gut Right, now is a great time to try it and get your gut right. It helps decrease bad bugs and help increase the good ones! PM me if you want more info.
6. Do a 24h fast. This helps give your intestinal tract a much needed rest and a chanse to clean out. I will do one Monday dinner til Tuesday dinner and only use a Daily Nutritional Support Powder to make sure I keep nutrition levels up. •
I hope this helps. Enjoy the break and direct message me if you feel like it was too much and you are ready to get into healthier habits or if you feel lethargic, have brain fog and is bloated and ready for a change.

Good news to fellow chocolate lovers! 🍫
Dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa) can help regulate stress levels. Study have found that eating dark chocolate has an impact on the body’s stress hormones, such as cortisol, and reduces them. The chocolate’s antioxidants can also cause better circulation and lower blood pressure by prompting blood vessel walls to relax. Here’s the excuse you’ve been looking for to indulge in some dark chocolate! 😋
