You see a lot of fossils here on our Instagram but who are the faces behind them? Who’s the team behind Wight Coast Fossils? Over the next few days we thought we’d introduce ourselves here on Instagram and explain a little bit about who we are and our backgrounds! ————————————————————————
We’re a trio of young island fossil hunters Jack, Theo and Megan who have been exploring our island’s diverse ancient past since we were small children. With scientific backgrounds in palaeontology and biology it’s fair to say we’re fossil and nature obsessed, and in 2018 we decided to turn our passion into a business. Wight Coast Fossils was born, giving us the opportunity to share our love for the unique palaeontology of this island through our guided fossil walks on our beaches, and also showcasing our finds here on social media! ————————————————————————-
Stay tuned this week to learn more about us individually and who we are and what we do!

Enjoying the familiar sight of the chalky white stacks that characterise the western-most tip of the Isle of Wight, we stood in the cockpit and soaked up the moment. Emma reminisced about photographing the J-Class boats, Velsheda, Lionheart and Ranger rounding this iconic rock-formation, before finding herself in a sinking rib (full of camera equipment) in the middle of the Solent! Alas I digress... Another story for another day. #veerumsailingadventures#swan57
Our afternoon tea is still available on the price is Wight. This is our savoury version. Finger sandwiches, cheese & chutney scones, our signature sausage rolls, cheese wedge, carved ham and assorted chutneys. #caféonthehilliow 🌿 #isleofwight#dogfriendly#weloveryde
Turn your sound down, my laugh is sooo irritating, I didn’t even realise I laughed so much and so annoyingly.
Up and out early, much fun to be had.
I won’t mention the sleep situation, last night was not good and I’m exhausted today but at least the sun is shining !! #isleofwight#outandabout#sunday#triplets#tripletsofinstagram

The beautiful St Thomas also know as Newport Minster on the Isle of Wight. The organ (in the organ loft on the right) was a gift from Queen Victoria. The church was originally a medieval structure but was in poor condition by the Victorian era when Queen Victoria decreed that it should be rebuilt.
🦔Hedgehog fungus 🦔one of the easiest beginner mushrooms to identify, but I’ve never found it before (until yesterday when I got lost in a dark pine forest trying to reach the sea and practically tripped over them!) Just look at those beautiful spines 🦔Mushrooms for breakfast it is!
