Some say Amarone does not have terroir. Well, they are wrong. These two single vineyard Amarone are distinct and uniquely terroir driven. Thank you @masiwines for sharing them with us.

#ProTip : Always ask winemakers where to eat. They always seem to know the exact place that will hit the spot at a particular moment in time. Caffe Roma is a family run restaurant in Costigliole d'Asti that is home to an impressive wine list of the wines of the region with tons of back vintages. #dope#SipTrip#CaffeRoma
You've heard of the #Bordeaux or #Burgundy bottle...but what about the #Albesia bottle? @renatoratti was an avid history buff. He was always searching to learn more about his region's history. These two bottles from the 1700s represent his quest to find the history of the unique bottle shape of the #Langhe : the Albesia bottle we know today.
Next on our journey through Piedmont: @renatorattiwinery. We were super stoked to try these three 2014 Barolo side by side. Each wine showed the deft touch of Pietro Ratti & the beauty of his family’s vines.
After a long and muddy morning of truffle hunting they prepared an amazing Piedmontese meal for us with our bounty from the hunt.

@piocesare1881 was our first stop on the Sip Trip journey. Not only were we schooled on the history of the #langhe , we also received a lesson about Roman architecture.
The wine cellar's foundation and most of the walls in the cellar are from the 1st century!!! #learning

Sip Trip is an international family. Edo & Niccolo, both from Torino, complete the family.
They not only helped bring our story to life...they got us out of some "lost on translation" situations as well!

It wouldn't have been Sip Trip without Adam Teeter, founder of @vinepair - a drinks publication dedicated to the experience of beverage.
Sip Trip and VinePair's missions aren't so different: we're just trying to share the stories of incredible wines - and the people behind them - with the world.

A. Manzoni
Porta Praetoria, 25 a.C.
