Meaning of the #sanskrit quote from the image:
Jai Hind
When Ganges first began to flow Lord Shiva agreed to let the river 1st fall on his head. Secondly, lord Shiva is characterised by an angry temperament. He has a third eye on his forehead that emits fire if opened. To keep God Shiva cool a vessel is placed over Shiva Linga & a drop of water regularly drips on it to keep lord cool.
Actual reason is when a Shiva Linga is consecrated ( #PranPrathista ) it becomes a powerful source of energy. The rays from the Shiva Linga is spread in all Direction. When a person stands in front of the Shiva Linga and prays, the rays from the consecrated idol enter his body. Peace, happiness & bliss can be felt immediately. It also has the capacity to cure infectious diseases. To get the maximum benefit the body must be cool to feel the energy. Thus people in earlier times visited the temple right after a dip in the Temple pond to get the maximum benefit of these rays. All Temples had a pond next to it for this purpose
The rays from the consecrated idols can be analyzed using Kerlin cameras. They take photo of light and energy (shakti). Studies have shown that before consecration the idol's photo is black and white and after consecration, an Aura of brightness forms around the idols. This proves that #ShivaLinga retain and spread powerful energy. Generally all people are not spiritually inclined and fit enough to absorb the days emanating from Shiva Linga. The water is made to drop by drop from the urn above the lingam and sandalwood paste is applied so that the powerful rays get diminished.
Nuclear reactors are built in the form of Shiva Linga as this form retains more energy. e.g.BARC. The water falling on Shiva Linga is drained out. Similarly to keep nuclear reactors cool, coolant liquid is used which is also drained out. The water falling on Shiva Linga is also drained out and devotees are not supposed to touch that water.
Chamunda (Sanskrit: चामुण्डा) also known as Chamundeshwari, Charchika and Rakta Kali is a fearsome form of Chandi, the Hindu Divine Mother.
She is regarded as the goddess of war and "epidemics of pestilent diseases, famines, and other disasters". The name is a combination of Chanda and Munda, two monsters whom Chamunda killed. She was invoked by Goddess Chandi to kill demons Chanda and Munda. Chamunda is an esoteric aspect of Durga in her Chandi form.
From the Durga Puja perspective in Bengal, she is a form of Kali invoked by Chandi to destroy the evil king Mahishasura. She is believed to have killed the demon king during Sandhi Puja, which lasts for 48 mins and falls between ashtami and nabami i.e. the 8th and 9th days of Navratri.
Animal sacrifice is prevalent with the worship of Devi Chamunda.
