🌸New vlog is up !! 🌸Link in bio 📺 I filmed a lot of footage last year but unfortunately, duty called and I wasn’t able to edit every vlog I had filmed. 😢 .
So,instead of doing a 2019 recap, I decided to mash up every vlog I never got around to editing in 2019 together. If you’re a fan of “24” (yes that old school tv show 😉) why not take a look ??
Of course @mariannavlogs will make an appearance 😍

Located in Osio in Kanagawa prefecture, Oiso No Sagicho is a 400-year-old Matsuri (festival) celebrating a guardian deity for travelers called a Dosojin as well as being known as Oiso or ‘Little New Year’. The festival takes place at night however, during the day men erect cone-shaped bonfire structures along Oiso beach called Saito which are made of bamboo, pine, used New Year decorations and Daruma. Around 7 pm, the Saito are lit and people pray for good health throughout the coming year. It’s also customary to roast “Dango” (glutinous rice balls) also in hopes of good health for the upcoming year.
Finally, in front of each Saito is held an unusual ritual called Yanna-gokko is held, where men divided into teams play some sort of tug-of-war with the temporary shrine of the deity Seinokamisan sunk in the ocean.
Hokkaido haul! 😍 @imusatik’s mom brought us ALL these goodies straight from Hokkaido for omiyage! What is omiyage? It translates to souvenir but culturally it’s waaaay more than that. Head to my stories (or Japan 101 Part 2 highlights) to learn more about the culture of Omiyage - and to see what each item in this photo is (like a smoked, pastrami pork tongue?!) 🗾
Strolling in the Yanaka Ginza shopping mall is one of the most highlighted points on our bike tour. It is always busy, but you can really enjoy street foods and shopping. Our guests from Australia were so happy to visit there.
Rainy day in Kawagoe! ☔️ I’m still waiting for snow here... Last week, parts of Tokyo did get some snow, we only had rain! Today, I’m starting a new casual job... Super excited! 💖 What’s your day like today?
