"Many filmmakers portray teenagers as immoral and ignorant, with pursuits that are pretty base. But I haven't found that to be the case," Hughes once said. "I listen to kids. I respect them. Some of them are as bright as any of the adults I've met."
Hughes was a fan of The Beatles and frequently incorporated their songs into his films: Anthony Michael Hall sang "Hey Jude" in Sixteen Candles, Jon Cryer sang "Love" in Pretty In Pink and Matthew Broderick sang "Twist & Shout" in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
True story: The famous pink prom dress from the movie “Pretty In Pink”
When asked about the pink prom dress created for Molly and if she liked the design... My answer to the question was:
She hated that dress! Molly actually hated it with such a passion you have no idea. A lot of her clothing as Andie Walsh I found in thrift stores, so I cut up two dresses to make the prom dress – just like she does in the film. Poor John Hughes, Molly’s in her trailer with her tutor, she hates the dress and he’s whining to me ‘You can’t make her do that, she hates it.’ I said ‘Andie is not going to wear like, a Madonna dress. And she’s not going to dress like the other kids, she’s an individual. She’s pulling clothes apart and making her own style.’ And John decided, OK that’s it, Molly is going to wear it! So she did and it made cinema history for the 80’s era!
Happy #throwbackthursday friends 👋🏼 and Happy Birthday 🥳 to one righteous dude, Matthew Broderick 🙌🏼 🎂 Mr. Carrie Bradshaw has definitely given us some fantastic flicks over the years:
Cable Guy ~ War Games ~ Election ~ LADYHAWKE 🦅 (that’s right. And shoutout to Michelle Pfeiffer) just to name a few gems, but the obviously perfect #TBT has to go to 🎈Ferris Bueller’s Day Off 🎈
To this then 12 yr old, FBDO was EV 👏🏼 ER 👏🏼 RY 👏🏼 THING 👏🏼 the movie came out during summer break 1986 and my friends and I definitely saw this classic 13 times that summer. No lie. Movies were very cheap back in the olden days 🙃
This movie had everything for this kid going into grade 8 man. Skipping high school, lunch at a fancy restaurant, a parade, Sloane Peterson’s hair and outfit.
Need I say more?
I mean, Ferris was very popular you guys. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wasteoids, deeebies, dickheads? They all adore him. And so did all the people everywhere.
A kick-ass movie and soundtrack (hey there #siguesiguesputnik 💗) that holds up to this very day.
So Danke Schöen Matthew Broderick and hope you have a lovely day! *
Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. 🥰😎😘 ~ T 👍🏻
I'm going to use this new style since it's better and a good template. That said, enjoy my review... What does it mean to enjoy your life to the fullest? To take it slow and easy? According to Ferris Bueller, it's to skip school and explore the city with your best friend and girlfriend.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is written and directed by John Hughes and stars Matthew Broderick in the title role. Let me just say that after all this time, the movie still holds up, I can relate to the character, and it's effortlessly stylish in its charm.
The character of Ferris is a real stand out, brought to life by an amazing performance and witty characterization. The supporting cast are no slouch either, with subplots being as entertaining as the main plot
The interesting thing is that, for me, Ferris Bueller doesn't have a real plot. It's just a series of dialogues and events in a single day. You can interchange the scenes and it will still be entertaining. The script focuses more on the character than the dialogue and I really enjoyed.
John Hughes's direction is perfect, and spot on. He effortlessly capture the style of Ferris and how cool he is. The dialogue feels snappy, and the subplots are incredible.
I really don't have any criticism, this is my favorite comedy movie ever. I look forward to watching his other works

Filme: CURTINDO A VIDA ADOIDADO
🎬resenha by Jelly
Sabe aquele filme maravilhoso que você não quer que termine? Ou ainda aquele que você acaba de ver e sente vontade de começar a fazer tudo diferente? Curtindo a Vida Adoidado é assim.
this morning one of my students got really frustrated with me, punted his box of graduation announcements, then flipped me the double-bird as he backed slowly out of our classroom (with solid eye contact until he was out of view down the hallway). it was pretty epic. my life continues to be a #johnhughes movie.
