When I was a kid exercise was the least of my interests. I was a swimmer but a mostly disinterested one. I got into the gym and resistance/weight training over 5 years ago and I've never really stopped.
Since starting skating last year, my awareness of my balance and flexibility has increased tenfold so I spend a fair bit of time after any session stretching and testing some limits.
I've been incorporating some @coachhamish off ice stretches and moves which have given me something to aim for. Pistol squats(prepping for sit spins one day far away) have always been a bit of a nemesis, but here on this video I actually manage to stand up from one!
Now to work towards not holding my foot and strengthening my hip flexors which really flare up during these.
I really want to get an off-ice spinner next...... What's your off-ice go to?
