Every Easter I’m reminded of the precious sacrifice that Jesus made for us, the most undeserving. Every Easter I’m reminded that because He died for us, and rose again on the 3rd day I have no choice but to get back up. Thank you Jesus for the beautiful sacrifice and reminder that satan is still defeated, and we HAVE THE VICTORY!Jesus, we love you! ✨

Also, where is my husband when I need to good bump picture? 🤷🏽‍♀️🤰🏽 .

Happy Easter, everyone! #24weekspregnant #babybump #resurrectionsunday

  • Everyday and in every way, I am becoming more confident. 🌸
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve always been teased for being “skinny”. And I started to believe “skinny” was a bad thing. And I felt like I had no right to say I felt “fat” or “overweight” when I did start gaining extra weight after my mother passed a few years ago. But deep down I knew the extra weight gain was not healthy and I knew I didn’t like what I seen in the mirror.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I am looking at this picture, never in a million years did I think it was possible to lose the “skinny-fat” weight and keep it off. Or to look like I do in this photo from WORKING OUT AT HOME! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I got these results with a REALISTIC & SUSTAINABLE nutrition and home fitness plan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I feel confident in the mirror again and I’m perfectly fine with being “skinny” and happy about it!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am confident that anyone of any shape or size that has the motivation and will power to make flexible healthy changes that are simple and sustaibable can make life long changes like this and start to feel confident too!

  • Spring Break with my girls has been amazing! I was originally planning on not even taking this week off, but when Zack’s parents asked to take Luca for the week I thought- what the heck, why not?! Sometimes the best ‘yes’ comes from saying ‘no’ to routine and embracing the spontaneous and unplanned. Learning to savor the slow and enjoy each moment, going on adventures, talking and laughing and being silly together. Basically, being a kid again myself and seeing things from their perspective- it’s been SO FUN!
•
•
I mean let’s be honest, I have a tendency to get overly structured and rigid (#enneagram1) in somewhat stressful situations (life with multiple, highly-energetic children) and can forget how to let go and have fun. So, if anything, this spontaneous week off has been the best thing for all of us. I hope it has been for you other Spring Breakers as well!

As for an extra slice of awesome- 1. Bravery’s face in this picture.

  • This picture is precious to me and I want it saved in my feed. 🖤
About two weeks ago, we stopped by my Gramma’s house so I could see it one last time before her home was cleaned out. On her little table, was her unfinished puzzle that I had bought her for her birthday. (if you swipe, you’ll see the picture of our Hobby Lobby trip, where she picked out the puzzle.) She and Tristyn have sat at that little table and worked on it several times. (If only I would have taken a picture!) ____
Gramma wanted Tristyn to get back over to her house so they could finish the puzzle, but with the holidays, we didn’t have time. The first week in January, she was suddenly taken to the hospital and a few days later, passed away.
____
While we were at Gramma’s house, Tristyn started working on the puzzle. She didn’t want to leave until the puzzle was finished. I love that my dad sat down with her and they both finished the puzzle. This picture is my favorite not just because of the bond that Tristyn and my dad have....but because of this space in my Gramma’s house. I want to remember it forever. .

  • I’ve found you really have to take advantage of dressing them as ridiculous as possible while they still have no say or power over it... before you know it they won’t take off a crusty pair of Christmas jammies and insist on only wearing pants with pockets deep enough to hold their clip knives... seriously the switch happens over night folks!! 😂😍

  • Happy Easter!! He is RISEN!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I saw some quote floating around this week it said “Moms forcing their kids to take pictures ...they’ll be like sit your butt down and smile. And then post it saying ‘The reason I breathe.”😅😅😅 Can anyone else relate lol... 🙋🏼‍♀️... just trying to document the few days all of us have combed our hair and put real clothes on... minus Shep who is still in his Christmas jammies and won’t let us comb his hair...😩 #pickyourbattles #happyeaster Also worth noting... I once said my sons would never play with weapons, I think it was sometime before I had sons... 🤪 #reallife

  • This Easter was a little strange. We went to our church’s Easter production on Friday, so we didn’t go today. Since we didn’t go to church, I didn’t wear an “Easter dress”. We weren’t able to go back home to be with family, so we spent it just us two. We had a slow morning and then went out this afternoon. I wanted to go look at the flowers that are starting to bloom at the park, so Jarin amused me and we went. A sweet lady asked if we wanted our picture taken and we said yes, because you don’t just pass up that opportunity. After the park, we went to Starbucks and set outside talking and enjoying the beautiful weather. So although today wasn’t spent how we usually spend Easter (church and family), it was still spent well.
Maybe your day didn’t go as planned or maybe even the past month hasn’t gone as planned. That’s kind of been the story of our life lately... things not going as planned. But ya know what, life is still beautiful and there is a purpose for everyday. God has a plan for you. He has a plan for us. (🙌🏻) Even when things don’t make sense, just trust that God is on the other side of that trial waiting to hand you the blessing.

  • Couldn’t have asked for a better day to spend outside! We decided back in January to spend Sunday’s together doing something fun as a family. Sunday Funday continued with a hike up Kennesaw Mountain. Here are the stats: 5.1 miles, 12,500 steps, 86 floors. Now, if you need me I’ll be sitting somewhere not using my legs. (More pics in my stories)

  • Happy Easter friends! Jesus is alive and that is why we celebrate today. It’s not about the Easter bunny or coloring eggs, but it’s about the sacrifice that was made on the cross. But even more, it’s about the salvation and eternal life that we get to receive because of it. You may be doubting in your faith and we want to tell you that is okay. Thomas the disciple doubted too, but guess what Jesus came back for him! He came back just to show him that He was really who He said He was. So today, Jesus is coming for you. He’s reaching out to tell you that He is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do. 💛 “Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

  • I stuck around after my regular Saturday visit to the Irvington branch of @indylibrary for the monthly craft activity. Yesterday's project was making a bracelet using a Japanese kumihimo method. I made the pink & purple one there and the other this morning.

The first one has 7 threads and the second 8. (I somehow cut an extra thread to take home.) We selected a button and our colors, cutting them to 3 ft lengths. Then we threaded the button to the middle. All the threads then went through the hole in the middle of a disk. Both ends of each thread were paired in separate slots on the outside of the disk. Then we braided the threads moving them into different slots in a pattern.

Once we were almost at the ends the threads are removed from the disk. A loop is made that's big enough to fit the button. The ends are tied off with a separate thread.

Of course there are other patterns from what we did. Beads and other findings can also be added. Longer threads can be used to make a necklace. This is a craft that could be simple for little kids or something complicated, it all depends what you want to do.

It was nice to take a break and make make something different. The extra thread did throw me off as I kept messing up so it took me much longer to make the bracelet.

What types of craft projects do you enjoy solo or with the kids?

This will be both of their First spring baskets since we’ve never done one for Ethan as well but decided to gift them with some goodies this year to celebrate the fact that HE IS RISEN! Just as He GAVE His life for us, mama and daddy wanted to GIVE them some little things we know they’ll love. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday celebrating this joyous day! ❤️

  • Easter is coming! If you have kids I highly recommend this book. Not only are the illustrations beautiful but the story about Jesus and what Easter is really about is so perfect. Ethan was super interested in it and every time we would read “Easter is coming!” He would excitedly say with a smile “Yeah!” Needless to say he wanted (me) to read it over and over again 😩 but this has been the one book I really didn’t mind one bit. 🥰

  • Last night at our Good Friday Service I had the opportunity to take photos of the baptisms. Getting to be up close to capture the emotion of fifteen people, both young and old was such a powerful experience.

I was overwhelmed by how universal pain and suffering is. That no matter the age, we get things wrong, go the wrong way, and end up in dark places.

Hearing young kids share about how they have gone their own way, not honoring God was so humbling as what great hope they have in their faith to help them navigate their future. Particularly middle school, high school and into college.

While I thought I had faith at that age, I had no clue what it meant to live dependent on it. Seeing these kids and young adults commit their lives had me cheering on the sidelines. Praying they cling hard to their relationship with Jesus as they begin to navigate their next life stage.

As for the adults getting baptized. I was an emotional wreck watching them break down emotionally as they sat on their knees in the water as their testimony was read aloud.

While the enemy would love to shame grown adults for breaking down emotionally, I couldn’t help but see just how cleansing their tears were. That as the tears fell for all the pain their own lives had caused, that the water they were soon to be dipped into would cleanse it all. To symbolize how all their sin and shame has been washed away.

While the pain and tears will continue to come on this side of eternity, it was such a beautiful reminder that baptism points to what we will experience in heaven where all tears are all washed away and where Jesus life, death and resurrection has the final say.

  • I’m reading this book called “the way of life” by Bill Johnson. It’s all about experiencing the culture of heaven on earth. It’s been a big eye opener for how I should be living and pushing me to believe in a deeper way.
We have all been commissioned to go. Our going looks different, but the call is the same and that is to grow the kingdom of God. God’s dream is that we would experience heaven on earth and we get to be a part of making the dream happen! I think as we approach Easter and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, we should also be remembering the life He lived and the culture in which we are called to walk in.
There is no fear. There is no condemnation. There is grace. There is power. There is freedom. Y’all, Jesus was a guy who walked in boldness and passion. He did things a little differently. (Like spitting in the dirt to make mud and then rubbing it in a blind guy’s eyes so he could see again.) He didn’t let people stop Him from going forward with the mission God gave Him. He believed with such a strong faith that miracles followed wherever He went. He brought hope to the hopeless. He loved even those who didn’t love Him. And this is what we are called to as well. This is the culture of Jesus that we are called to here on earth as it is in heaven. So this Easter remember the death, remember the resurrection, but also remember the life. Challenge yourself to believe deeper and pursue God relentlessly.

  • Just realized I never shared with you all the two restaurants Katlin and I tried and loved last weekend in Louisville! After over 2 years (how?!?) of not getting to hang out in person, I was finally reunited for a girls day with one of my best friends and it was like no time had passed at all!

We grabbed brunch at @bluedogbakeryandcafe and it was the perfect brunch spot and the food was unreal. For dinner we grabbed @porcinilou which was also amazing! I can’t wait to go back there for dinner when their patio opens for the season! If you’re headed to Louisville anytime soon, I would highly recommend both places.

  • Is it just me, or does the idea of having a bunch of people over for a celebration make you sweat - I mean glisten, clearly I glisten. 💦
Maybe it's legit, or maybe it's just in my head, but I always feel so much pressure to produce an event.
I feel like my friends and family walk into my home expecting a full scale, fully decorated, magazine worthy spread - let me tell you, that's not what they get.
I love creating stunning tablescapes for beautiful events but somehow that just never happens in my own home. Maybe before my kids were born, but now, well, the standards have been lowered just a touch 🤦🏻‍♀️
So here's to our celebrations, whatever they may look like, as long as you have great people to share them with! 🥂

  • God alone has the power and love to make the greatest good come out of the most tragic murder. The only reason today is good is because of how great our God is. 💕

  • Getting kids to eat healthy is hard. I read somewhere that it takes up to 15 (fifteen?!?) introductions of a food for a child to like something. That seems like a lot of work but I always give them what Nick and I are eating. They may not like it... but at least they tried, right? There are days where we have the same meal we had last month they didn’t like and all of the sudden they clean their plate. ⁣
⁣
Always trying new things gives them better palette and better palette means a more diverse foods we can put in front of them. Is it a win every time? Nope, but I keep trying!⁣
⁣
One trick I like to use is letting them pick one fruit or vegetable from the grocery store they’d like to try. Today we are trying starfruit. Pretty fun if you ask me. ⁣

  • Shout out to all the ladies raising businesses + babies✨💫💛
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
See that cute little photo bomber there? I missed so many moments like this with my other four children, while I was working away at my corporate job. I remember googling all the ways I could possibly work from home, start a biz, anything... I just wanted to be home with my babies, taking care of my family + my home 💛
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The free spirit in me needed a creative outlet (+ flexibility).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wanted to do work that matters, to make an income with an impact.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wanted to create a legacy for my family 💫
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know it’s not easy to start something new, to make changes, to start a business, + hustle during the mom pockets or while working another job. But I’m so glad I decided to go for it, to level up + learn how to dream big for my family again💫✨...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m CEO + mama + I LOVE IT!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you can relate, or if this speaks to you, then this is for you too ✨

Peoples eyes bug out of there head when they hear “homeschool”. It’s funny how we think about things we don’t really know much about. The idea of this was hilarious to me too!
Don’t get me wrong there are days I’m yelling at the 🚌 bus to take my kids anywhere...but most days are beautiful and adventurous. Our days are slow. There are time for books, playing with bugs, and time to repeat a concept they don’t quit get. We don’t learn to take a test we learn to create a love for learning 🤯. We learn truth! We acknowledge our creator. We talk about mistakes, have time for chores. And enjoy the freedom to be who we were created to be without having to “fit it”. .

May my kids choose not to fit in.
