I didn’t notice how hard I was breathing until the music stopped
Every long run is an experiment. This time, I removed the uphill run to the track from the experiment, and it was a little easier than it was last week to run 30+ km. I’m feeling good because I was very productive this Sunday: I worked for 11 hours since 7am, and also ran my longest distance. Ever. And the cherry on the cake? I have no work tomorrow.

모든 장거리 달리기는 어느정도의 실험이다. 이번엔, 트랙까지 엄청난 업힐을 뛰어가는 것을 과감히 포기했다 (2키로 정도의 거리를 포기하는 것일지라도). 확실히 그러고 나니 저번주보다 장거리 뛰기가 좀 수월했다. 아침 7시에 기상해서 11시간 동안 일하고, 찌뿌둥한 몸을 풀려고 달리기를 해서 인생 최장거리 달리기 기록을 경신했다. 거기다 내일 휴무라니 와. 이보다 더 좋을 수가 없다.

I run a #sub4 at yesterday’s @marathonrotterdam!!!!
I still don’t really know what to say.
Just that I fought so hard for this - believe me. The first 21 km went perfect, actually way too perfect - ran a 01:47ish and I knew, that this will be a problem in the second half of the marathon. 😏 But I had a really hard time focusing on my pace, I was always too fast but I thought, all in or nothing. 😬 Then the heat ☀️🔥☀️ came and well ... 🥵🥵🥵
Between km 30 and 38 I struggled VERY hard, even had to stop and walk for a bit 🙈 but I found my way back on the last kms and could finish sub 3:45. This is still a HUGE new PB for me - over 24 min.
It’s still some way to go but my 🦄 just got so, sooo much closer!!!!!
And I know for sure that I can do a lot better than yesterday. 😎💪🏻

Medal Monday features my first marathon medal - achieved in Paris. Despite it being really hard, I loved doing it, what an amazing experience. It started the day before where I did a fun 5km Run from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower. Beautiful running route, beautiful sunny day, great atmosphere to get the marathon experience going. On Marathon day, it was another beautiful day, the people of Paris came out to support the runners and my first marathon began. My plan was to run each 10km in around 60 minutes and to keep ahead of the 4:30 race pacer. First 13 miles went well, took it slow and just flowed with the runners. As it the route went on, I began to do a series of walking and running to keep ahead of the 4:30 pacer. At around the 27km point I saw my hubby who shouted my name and gave me much needed hug and kiss. I told him that it was really hard and he told me that I didn’t have far to go. It gave me a boost to keep going. It was around the 37km mark. The 4:30 pacers past me and everything was hurting, I didn’t have anything left to give but I dig deep and went on. The final 800m when I heard the crowds and I knew I was near the finish line, I managed to put all the pain I was feeling and replace it with Joy, excited and an overwhelming sense of achievement. It was a wonderful experience and after a week to digest it all, I would do it again. Not a fan of the medal - it’s pretty plan and uninspiring. My super crazy Sunday!!! I can't believe I did it!!! 50k in the mountains!! #dwt2019 it was hard. And my last 5k were endless. I thought even to quit. But last meters I did under friends greetings!!!! And I ran with smile and tears!!! We can do everything!!!! And if you guys wanna feel Caucasus - you need to run this race!!! Best route ever!!!!! I used to despise running. I was convinced it was some type of torture that just came along with a weight loss journey. But over time, I started to love it. It has since become my version of therapy. Whether I’m sad, stressed, happy, confused — I run until I’ve worked through it. Anyway, the goal is to always become a better version of yourself and I continue to see myself improve every week.
