  • Back is feeling much better! Saw a chiropractor yesterday and have been gradually feeling better ever since. Lots of stretching and some icing. Hopefully I will be ready to get some recovery miles in tomorrow morning!

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes. I’m just glad the pain left so quickly. I’m going to be incorporating more core workouts and cross-training going forward to prevent future back injuries.

Correr vai muito além de alguns números no relógio, corrida é paixão, entrega e superação...não é pra ninguém é pra vc e por vc, portanto faça sempre com o coração e deposite o amor em tudo que vc realmente acredita!!

Corrida é o esporte individual, mais coletivo do mundo 🙏🏻❤️!

  • Deload week= (not so) long and slow 14k @ 4:55/km. Weather was too good not to be outside🤘🙌. #slowrunsunday .

This week we start increasing volume. In a few weeks I'll hit 100km/week. I've only ever been up to 90km, so this will be interesting to see how the body reacts. Sleep and recovery has generally been good, so I will need to make sure I stay on top of that moving forward 🙌

  • The rain cleared up and the sun peeked out long enough to get in a 4 mile run. ⛅️ Last week I was running in a tank top and shorts and today it’s long sleeves and layers. Southern California weather is wacky! #SundayRunday

  • I have no idea why running 6 miles is a supposed to be a recovery from yesterday’s 17 miles ... but I decided to  trust the process and get it done. Thankful for fun podcasts to get me through it.. and it worked, look how much happier I am after!! Also loving all the princess stories/pics... dreaming of my next #rundisney race. Who wants to join me for #dopey2021 ?! #princesshalfmarathon

  • Earlier this week when I got the news the Tokyo Marathon was being cancelled due to coronavirus, I was disappointed. I also felt gutted for the city. To lose such a big event in an Olympic year must be hard. 
After many years of trying to get a place I was lucky enough to be offered a bib by @asicseurope and the sixth @wmmajors World Marathon Majors star was assured. Of all my goals for 2020, this one was going to be the easiest. Just get round and get the Medal of Medals. Sadly that's not to be the case. ⁣

However, running works in funny ways and Tokyo was really going to be a stepping stone on the way to attempt a sub-3 at London. Today I went out and ran a 2:15 with the last 45 mins at marathon pace. It came in at 17 miles and boy am I glad I'm now not running a marathon in Tokyo next week. Today I struggled beyond mile 13 and realised I wouldn't have been ready. I would have finished but I think I would have had a suffer fest. ⁣A little lesson (that I’ve had before) that you always need to give the 26.2 the respect it deserves. ⁣
I've got a place for next year's Tokyo and so it's probably worked out for the best. I'll be able to go there are run in a way that's worthy of completing this particular arbitrary running challenge! It also means I can focus on London with sticking another 26.2 in my legs.

All effort now directed to putting in a decent run on home turf. #marathonrunning #tokyomarathon2020

  • Today’s #StruggleBus Sunday run with the @teamdirtandvert / Cardiac Drift crew should not have caused a 16.7 @whoop strain but it did because these guys don’t know about recovering from @aravaiparunning Black Canyon or the @thespinistry Maypearl Loop. I was chasing all day and my legs felt it.

After breakfast, came home to stretching and mobility with the tools of the trade: @sidekicktool Curve and Fuse, @rollrecovery and a kettlebell. Not seen: @prevailbotanicals because I forgot to snap a pic and really needed to eat! 😁

And the finishers pic, thanks to @ultraninjarunnr, from the ride yesterday. My ass hurt, my quads were sore and yet I found myself wanting to do more gravel riding. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

  • This week has been all about recovery after the road ultra last week. Never had I thought that 45k on roads would do such havoc on the thigh muscles, but it’s been quite interesting to follow the healing proses in my muscle tissue. Not completely healed yet, it flare up a little in my left thigh on today’s run, so I didn’t go as long as planned and turned a good part of it into no trail wood exploring. Did some stretching at this cute cabin by the road, and self massage at home to help circulation and prohibit adherences. Happy Sunday and happy fastelavn 😍
