Just finished this incredible, eye-opening second novel by Khaled Hosseini. A devastating, intricately-crafted story of two disenfranchised Afghani women and, more broadly, the journey of Afghanistan as a country. Full review will be posted once I've fully processed what I just read. This book changed things in me as I read it. Hosseini writes human beings and cultures brilliantly, but he is also a man with a beautiful heart for the disenfranchised, for his country, for women, and for children. The epilogue of his book talks about the ongoing refugee crisis and it would be a disservice to post about his book without passing along the same opportunity he presents to his readers. Link in comments. Read this book, and let it change you.
Paghman/Dara. The gardens of Paghman is a major attraction, and is why the city is sometimes known as the garden capital of Afghanistan. And every Friday most of the families are driving to Paghman for family picnics or friends taking music with them while they eat, dance and enjoy their weekend with loads of music. #paghman#kabul#afghanistan#samea#peace#nowar#sopeaceful
