  • So harmattan is knocking on our doors again this year (at least for those of us in the north here) ⁣
⁣
If like me, you have feet easily prone to blisters, it's time you step up your foot care routine and not become Aunty fine face and jagajaga leg. 😏⁣
⁣
My simple routine is to use a pumice stone or foot file every other night, slather Shea butter on my feet while still damp and wear my socks. ⁣
⁣
That way my feet stays soft and smooth.⁣I tend to use more of the foot file these days: I find it more convenient than the pumice stone.⁣
⁣
How about you? Which option do you use?⁣ Have you tried this routine before?⁣ Did it work for you?

  • Cleaning your make up brushes should be an essential part of your beauty routine. ⁣
⁣
If you leave dirt and oils to build up on them they can cause acne break outs and other skin infections. ⁣
⁣
Ideally, you should wash your make up brushes once in two weeks. If you are very much acne prone like myself, once a week is fine. ⁣
⁣
Wash with a mild shampoo. It only takes a few steps and you’ll be done in a few minutes. ⁣
⁣
🌿 Dampen your brush head and gently massage with some shampoo to remove all the dirt. Avoid wetting the handle so it doesn’t get spoilt. ⁣
⁣
🌿If your makeup has really caked on or gotten stuck in the brush, use a comb to comb through the brush hairs for better cleaning. Avoid over scrubbing with your hands so you don’t ruin the shape of the brush. ⁣
⁣
🌿Rinse with warm water and carefully squeeze out the excess water. ⁣
⁣
🌿 Place the brushes on a towel to dry for some hours. ⁣
⁣
If you haven’t cleaned your brushes in a while you should start this week. ⁣
⁣
These here are my brushes. I washed them this past weekend. (⁣I practice what I preach).
⁣
Don't yab my brushes for not looking posh and tush ooo.😏They get the job done for me. You can buy me new brushes for Christmas gift. I don't mind.😂

  • Kunun Gyada
:
Hot or chilled, Kunun Gyada is a cereal drink I like. That line just sounded like an advert😊. But seriously nothing beats having healthy meals and enjoying them. The thing with this cereal drink is that you are full for long because of the groundnut.
:
Usually regular sugar is what is used to sweeten this porridge drink. Feel free to use that. Just keep your white sugar intake under control so your body insulin works better. I opted for honey.
Also note that you don’t have to peel the groundnut. That was my choice. The rice that works best for this recipe is the broken rice used for #tuwonshinkafa. When you add the rice milk you cover the bowl and allow the heat of the porridge to ‘cook’ the rice for say 2 minutes. :
When boiling the groundnut milk, you have to mount a guard near by ooh. It easily boils over. So control the flame or cook in a deep pot . I tried that kitchen hack of placing wooden spoon over the pot but that didn’t work 😏.
:
Adding Lemon rind is my twist and it made an interesting difference.

  • What’s your motive for wanting great skin? It matters because that’s what determines how you go about it. ⁣
⁣
If you just want to look good in pictures and “pepper them” you’ll become obsessed with getting it by all means. ⁣
⁣
Obsession leads to desperation which makes you fall for anything. ⁣
⁣
You’ll keep jumping from one product to another without giving each one enough time to work. This exposes you to so many potentially dangerous chemicals. ⁣
⁣
Proper skincare should not be about fulfilling your vain desires. It is actually about taking care of your skin’s health through a holistic approach. ⁣
⁣
It means you love yourself enough to eat nourishing food, adopt a healthy lifestyle, practice good hygiene and have a good consistent skincare routine.⁣ ⁣
Beautiful skin is not just about your appearance, it’s a sign that you have a healthy body and mind. ⁣
⁣
Are you ready to commit to taking care of your skin the right way? ⁣

  • The Prophet (saw) described Riya’ to be as subtle as a black ant crawling on a black stone on a dark night, and he taught us the du`a’, “Oh Allah! We seek your protection from associating partners with you knowingly, and we ask Your forgiveness for doing so unknowingly.” While volumes have been written about Riya’, one teacher gave a piece of very useful advice, “Keep up a good action that no one but Allah (SWT) knows about, not even your closest family members, such as praying qiyam lail (late night prayers) or giving a regular charity.”

  • Kaduna State – Woman locked up in a dark room for 2 years, freed by the police.
The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued a woman who was locked up in a dark room by her biological brother for two years.

The police and an NGO, Arida Relief Foundation found the lady identified as Hassana Sale in a sad state in the room she was locked up in at Rigasa area of Kaduna by her brother Lawal Sale who never wanted her to go back to her ex-husband who divorced her. He has however been arrested.

Hajiya Rabi Salisu, founder of the NGO said Hassana became depressed after she got divorced but always visited her matrimonial home to see her four children.

She visits the children on daily basis, so the elder brother and some of her relatives decided to lock her up in a dark room for two years so that she will not go back to her ex-husband. “We have taken her to the hopital and when she becomes stable, she would be handed over to the state Ministry of Human Service and Social Development to pursue the matter,” she said.

Wash with a mild shampoo. It only takes a few steps and you’ll be done in a few minutes. ⁣

🌿 Dampen your brush head and gently massage with some shampoo to remove all the dirt. Avoid wetting the handle so it doesn’t get spoilt. ⁣

🌿If your makeup has really caked on or gotten stuck in the brush, use a comb to comb through the brush hairs for better cleaning. Avoid over scrubbing with your hands so you don’t ruin the shape of the brush. ⁣

🌿Rinse with warm water and carefully squeeze out the excess water. ⁣

🌿 Place the brushes on a towel to dry for some hours. ⁣

If you haven’t cleaned your brushes in a while you should start this week. ⁣

These here are my brushes. I washed them this past weekend. (⁣I practice what I preach).

Don't yab my brushes for not looking posh and tush ooo.😏They get the job done for me. You can buy me new brushes for Christmas gift. I don't mind.😂
