  • I don’t know which version of me you identify with - but whatever version that is - i want to say it’s okay.

Today I scrolled through Instagram and ran across a post that made me angry.

It was a transformation photo obviously showcasing hard work - but the entire caption talked about disgusted she felt when she looked at her “before” photo.

Uh what?

Look, my body may look different but I was and am still a badass who is unbelievably strong and resilient.

There’s not a single thing disgusting about the version of me on the left. And To be honest, I am so damn proud of that version.

On the left, I was battling a severe mental health battle. And I fought so hard. After losing my father, I fell into a black pit of grief. But I climbed my way out- tooth and nail. I fought to get out of bed. I attended hard therapy sessions. I continued to live even when every fiber of my being told me to give up.

So what I put on weight? That version of me on the left is strong as hell. That version of me on the left landed her dream job. That version of me on the left continued to have a kind heart and patience even when she was angry with the world. 
And you want me to be disgusted with her?

The version of me on the left shaped the version of me on the right. And I refuse to sell her short.

Don’t you ever be ashamed of where you are. I’ll never apologize for putting my mental health before my physical health - and you shouldn’t either.

Your weight, your pants size, some picture of you doesn’t determine your worth as a human being.

Be careful with your words. And be kind to yourself.

  • Noodle vibes 🥢 We welcomed Spring w/ a favorite noodle soup dish that I make pretty often bc it’s simple, delicious & super easy to eat - what’s not to like? 😋.

Vietnamese pork + tomato vermicelli noodle soup 🐖🍅🌿🍜.

To make:
1.5 lbs @sprouts country style pork ribs, cut into 2” chunks
3 qts water
6 large @sprouts roma tomatoes, quartered
1 medium onion, sliced 
3 tbsp fish sauce
3/4 tsp kosher salt
1 tbsp sugar 
Vermicelli rice noodles, cooked as directed

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add pork pieces. Boil for 5 mins to remove impurities. Carefully drain and rinse meat well. Place 3 quarts of water into a large clean pot and bring to a boil. Add cleaned pork, tomatoes, onion and seasonings. Reduce to a simmer and cook for an 30-45 mins or until meat is tender. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired. Pro tip: dip meat into fish sauce + chopped Thai chilies 🌶 #diningwithdiana

  • Real talk, my workout tonight was NOT good. I wasn’t in the right mindset, I had a long day at work due to being short staffed, but I wanted to get my last resistance workout done for the week, so I did week 10 abs. I am also not the biggest fan of the pure “ab” workouts. I’d rather do squats for 28 minutes than do leg lifts, but that’s just my preference. Looking forward to bouncing back tomorrow AM when I go to the gym before work.

Since limiting my sweets, breads, and unnecessary snacking, I'm more hungry at mealtimes and appreciate a good, healthy, and filling meal. This one hit all the marks, but I definitely put too much cayenne in it... 😜 .
Also, one huge victory for me... I've lost 4 1/2 pounds since starting bbg and making these changes to my diet. 🤗 I don't want to make a number on the scale dictate my success, but I'm excited to say goodbye to some of the weight I gained during pregnancy!

I used to spend half my HIIT workouts adjusting my resistance band - these ones are awesome and I love how I can use different bands for different resistance ❤️

  • My routine and how I make time for myself ♥️ First of all I wanted to address to all moms and say how great you are just for being a MOM💥, because i know how hard it is in the midsts of crazy day with kids to find that 30 mins in 24 hours for yourself 🙄🙅🏼‍♀️ with my first I worked out at night... literally at 10 pm, this time around I go to bed at 8 pm 😂🤪 i have no energy 😅 HOWEVER, instead I find that time for myself during the day time. My oldest son goes to daycare three times a week (tue-thur) so therefore i shifted my bbg workouts. 👉🏼 so instead of mon-wed-fri i workout sun-tue-thur. So i workout with my toddler only one one day a week (sunday) on that day i always try to incorporate him, repeat moves after him, ask to pass me water, after all its only 30 mins, sometimes i just ask him to play with his toys 🤗 with my Bella girl its a lot harder 🤪 she sleeps during the day only in motion and when its super quite (she is one very fussy and picky baby), so thank God for mamaroo @4moms_hq 😅👌🏼 saves my life! So i try to find her the longest nap, usually from 10am-12pm and do workout then. She does wake up sometime, so i just put her on playmat and that gives me that extra 10 mins ⏰😂 sometimes i do feel tired, but most of the time i think its just the lazyness kicks in 😂 but i really have learned to discipline myself and i know i wont feel complete if i wont get the workout done... but obviously i DO ask myself am i just being lazy or am i actually tired (like sleepless nights and etc)... i always listen to my body 🙏🏼😊 and if i need to i can take a break 👍🏼 so this is pretty much my routine 🙌 i think its very important to discipline yourself if you trying to achieve a goal. My goal is to feel good in my skin. ‼️ and im that kind of person that is pretty hard on myself so i think i will always have something to improve 😄 so this is pretty much endless goal 👌🏼😂 which is fine by me because I believe this is all life about... becoming a better version of me ♥️ mentally, physically, emotionally 🥰

I love all the warmth and sunshine☀️ My girls had a BLAST on their first of many many hikes (even with my youngest on a harness/leash😂) and, obviously, my hubby has fun too! We are very outdoorsy and adventurous so hiking today for the first time this season was extremely awesome and I’m excited for many many more hikes this season👏🏼 HELLO SPRING!!🌸🌼🌷🌺

  • How do I find time to workout?! This is a question that I get ALL time. It may sound simple, but I just make the time for it, I make it a priority. I work full time outside of the home, and have two boys, aged 5 and 3, and I’m pregnant with babe number 3 (if you hadn’t noticed 😂🤰🏼). I carve out time each week and usually get in 4-5 workouts. My workout schedule is usually the same each week, but each day is different, if that makes sense.

Monday - I bring gym clothes to work, and head to the gym straight after.
.
Tuesday - We have a running club at work, and up until a few months ago, I was running 2-3 miles. I’ve switched to walking for the time being.
.
Wednesday - I work from one of our other locations, which is closer to one of my gyms. I get to work early and then hit the gym on my lunch break.
.
Thursday - My work offers either a weekly fitness or yoga class, which I almost always participate in, if my work load allows.
.
Friday - Rest day
.
Saturday - My husband and I take turns going to the gym.
.
Sunday - Rest day. Although I plan to start doing a little prenatal yoga since I’m only 8 weeks away from my due date.

I hope this helps! Basically, you just have to find a schedule that works for you and your family. If you have a family, then you definitely need a good support system. And most importantly you have to want to make it happen! If you do, then you’ll find a way.

  • How do I find time to workout?! This is a question that I get ALL time. It may sound simple, but I just make the time for it, I make it a priority. I work full time outside of the home, and have two boys, aged 5 and 3, and I’m pregnant with babe number 3 (if you hadn’t noticed 😂🤰🏼). I carve out time each week and usually get in 4-5 workouts. My workout schedule is usually the same each week, but each day is different, if that makes sense.
    .
    Monday - I bring gym clothes to work, and head to the gym straight after.
    .
    Tuesday - We have a running club at work, and up until a few months ago, I was running 2-3 miles. I’ve switched to walking for the time being.
    .
    Wednesday - I work from one of our other locations, which is closer to one of my gyms. I get to work early and then hit the gym on my lunch break.
    .
    Thursday - My work offers either a weekly fitness or yoga class, which I almost always participate in, if my work load allows.
    .
    Friday - Rest day
    .
    Saturday - My husband and I take turns going to the gym.
    .
    Sunday - Rest day. Although I plan to start doing a little prenatal yoga since I’m only 8 weeks away from my due date.
    .
    I hope this helps! Basically, you just have to find a schedule that works for you and your family. If you have a family, then you definitely need a good support system. And most importantly you have to want to make it happen! If you do, then you’ll find a way.

I got my workout in, productive bridal shower planning, and tonight I’m gonna try and make pizza.

Meet my favorite spot in our apartment: da plant nook - most our babies are happiest here! @hermeshinshaw and I always get really excited whenever they are “going off” as he’d like to say.

Some of their names: Kevin (not pictured), marbles, foxy, spiky, mr. floppy, and tata (after my grandma).

There is a year and a half between these photos, I do know most people do not like to hear that cause we all want a quick fix right? But I can tell you now slowly is the best way. At times its frustrating but if you just keep chasing those small goals, just keep pushing forward, you will get there. The time will pass anyway… so rather look ahead in a year and be happy with your progress, then still be wondering when you need to ‘start’.

We’re trying to make changes that stick, so why be miserable? Clearly that cutie in the back agrees.

  • How many colours do you eat?
When I first started training and dieting the only vegetable I would eat and buy would be green. 
Why?
Because the internet told me so. 
No calories, minimal carbs. 
This was a win for me. 
But NOT my gut. 
My gut WANTED diversity. 
It NEEDED an array and an assortment. 
I was in hard core diet mode that I forgot what was most important, my health, not my physical appearance. 
Moral of the story:
Eat the fucking rainbow,
Your hair, skin and nails will love you
As will your tummy and bottom 💩 
You’ll sleep better 
You’ll be raging on energy
You’ll lose inches off your waist
You’re breath will be prettier
Your immunity and libido will sky rocket 😉
Just eat veges, k 👏🏽

  • Throwing it back to this pasta #twirl tonight since my stomach is all sorts of alley-oop tonight! I made the family some Italian subs (which normally I’d want to go ham on but nothing is sounding remotely appetizing). I feel like picture of pasta just make the world a happier place, so here it is! Sun-shiny GF @ancientharvest quinoa pasta- sautéed with some @chosenfoods avocado oil and some pecorino Romano cheese (back from before when cheese didn’t hate me— they were simpler times 😉). Like so many of you I’m sure, we had a crazy day today and I cannot wait to just sit down for 10 seconds after the baby is in bed, throw my feet up and read up on ... potty training. 😆. We’re turning it up these days— adulting in it’s finest moments! I hope y’all are having the best week ever and have a lovely night!!! 😘😘😘

  • Throwback to my 5 minutes of fame 🥰 was so lovely to have my picture on @kayla_itsines Insta - but what was even more lovely was to feel part of the amazing community of women who turn up and support each other. I am consistently blown away by the kindness people have shown me, not just on that picture but every day. The internet can be a mean and ugly place, I’m glad to be connected with some truly beautiful souls 💕

  • Let me tell ya - the photo on the left was taken only a few weeks into my fitness journey and I was feeling AMAZING. I had lost a little bit of weight (although not nearly as much as I thought I would have lost by that point 😂), but more importantly I was learning to love myself again!

I was at work until midnight on Monday, and when my alarm went off at 530 on Tuesday morning I was not a happy camper.

I dragged myself to the gym and did as much as I could, but I was so wrecked afterwards that I realised I should have listened to my body and just had a bit more sleep. There’s always an anxiety around missing workouts (I get it!) but I’m trying to teach myself that I need sustainable habits that fit naturally and easily into my daily life. Sometimes that daily life means getting hammered at work - and resting to recover from that is okay! Here’s hoping for an early bed time for the rest of the week 😂
