There are instances when you have to deal with what is hand and carry onward. Yesterday was such an occasion. The only #message from my subject that I had to work with was one I received late Saturday night.
In it she expressed some surprise at the vicissitudes of her move but recognized her need to move on with the process. An accompanying #photograph showed her sitting amidst items in her moving sale smiling broadly.
Immediately noting the irony of her need to ‘keep on movin’ and my need to make use of this slightly earlier missive in order to keep my #art process progressing along its time based track, I thought of #robertcrumb ‘s iconic use of the phrase #keepontruckin . I chose to appropriate his work in my #drawing . After all, he had popularized an expression which he had appropriated from #blindboyfuller in his 1930s #song , “Trucking My Blues Away”. In the context of this project, it does not escape my notice that the theme of moving on is also a concern as our situational relationship comes to its own inevitable conclusion.
The overlapping ironies form a web of adaptive absurdity. I imagine #modernist#writer#samuelbeckett winking in approval. #thecasehistories @savethewavescoalition
I feel like Forrest Gump. I’ve had every type of rain... crossed the Mississippi River today. Drove by a rest area in Texas that had a brand new Cat D11 on lowbed. They say everything is big in Texas!!. #keepontruckin#maxbmwmotorcycles#1620workwear
