Do you fast? Why do you fast?

I haven’t really fasted since the end of February and I’ve been trying to mentally prepare myself to start fasting again. I usually like doing 18-20 hr intermittent fasting and 72 hr fast.

My goal is to complete a 48 hr fast. I ate pretty DAMN good this past Easter weekend #CheatWeekend but I’m back on track now. Gained some water weight but it’s almost all gone. I like fasting for weight loss and energy. I kid you not, when I do my 72 hr fast; that’s when I tend to feel the most energetic and alert! For me, it’s about the mentality, I have to mentally prepare myself for an extended fast but sooo worth it 💪🏼

  • Transformation Tuesday!!!! Yup, I’m super proud of myself for saving last year’s Easter photo. The weight loss and decreased appetite, the daily energy boost, better sleep, improved mental clarity..the list can go on!! I just feel BETTER and HAPPIER...and to me, that’s what matters most! I work hard everyday however some days I slip up and life bites my butt, but it’s regaining the focus of “I got this and nothing is going to put me back to where I use to be”.   • The good, the bad, and the ugly of my #cheatweekend ✨ this has been a planned treat since before I started my #100daysofketo challenge and I have no regrets, just wanna share my experience with you all 📖

The Good: keto has changed my relationship with food COMPLETELY. I could eat SO much before, if I liked something, I would literally eat until I couldn’t anymore. Plus when I had a cheat meal I wouldn’t stop eating until the plate was cleared. #notthistime I continued to listen to my body and eat until I was full, but not feeling like my stomach was exploding. The other good thing, I’m not at all interested in drinking sugary drinks again. In my opinion, not worth the calories or the carbs when you can make similar drinks with low carb alternatives 🍹

The Bad: I still love carbs, I wish I could say they made me feel terrible or bloated or like I never want to cheat again. Nope, not the case for me. Thankfully, I love being in #ketosis more than I like carbs. After eating carbs dealing with being out of ketosis is no fun. For me it means so much hunger, I’m focused on drinking at least a gallon of water and #intermittentfasting to help with my hunger, but my body just wants more food. I got so used to not being hungry that I took that for granted

The Ugly: knowing I was out of ketosis made me think “well is there anything else I want to eat before I go back to keto”. Kinda dangerous for me because I like I said I still like carbs, with that mentality, I feel like there will always be something else I would want to eat .

I don’t plan on cheating for at least another 30 days & I don’t think I’ll do a whole weekend again, but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ don’t swipe right if you’re easily triggered

Sometimes I don’t post these because I don’t notice as much change as some others may notice about me, but here we are on the left prior to keto and the photo on the right is 6 months keto. I really need to stop being so hard on myself because my closet of clothes are feeling wayyy too loose on me now and I need a new wardrobe quickly! This feels like it will be a diet for life for me because I just love how it has made me feel on the inside❤️
