We love the kettlebell swing but so often see them done incorrectly. Which at best means you’re not getting the most out of the exercise and at worst means your at risk of injury.
•
A kettlebell swing takes its basics from a deadlift. The primary muscles worked are the glutes and the hamstrings. They explosively extend the hips and drive them forward, creating the power needed to swing the kettlebell.
•
Remember to drive your hips forwards and straighten your back to send the kettlebell up to shoulder height. At this point use your glutes to brake/slow the momentum and finish the move.

This will maximise your results 👍🏼

  • This right here is a glimpse of my morning routine. Wake up by 7 am, have a cup of joe or pre workout depending on what day it is but, one thing that doesn’t change is that I make sure I at least read a section/chapter of whatever book I’m reading. 
I am currently reading The Millionaire Real Estate Agent by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. From new agents just starting their to careers to well seasoned agents who have been in this industry for years, If you are in the real estate industry or you have an interest in a real estate career I highly recommend that you pick this book up! No matter what real estate company you work for this book covers everything you need to know to get your real estate business where you want it to be!

  • Two years ago: Released from the hospital, had 22 staples, a drain that was infected, a feeding tube, couldn’t eat/drink, could barely move, needed help bathing, getting dressed, and felt tremendous anger and sadness.  I simply didn’t understand why at the age of 30 I was going through this, and why it all hurt so much. •
•
One year ago: Recently engaged, promoted at work, was learning how to navigate my new “normal”. When/how/what to eat while working full time. I was figuring out how to push through each day when 75% of the time I felt horrible even though I looked okay. Was a disaster emotionally but grateful I was okay. •
•
Today: Just finished my 4th workout of the week, have somewhat navigated how/what/when to eat/drink, have learned it’s okay to take a moment to collect myself when I don’t feel well, to take deep breathes, and that no matter what...I am strong enough to keep going.  I wouldn’t take back a day of the unbearable pain because it has made me who I am now and gave me the gift of choice.  Most importantly, I am thankful I will #never #ever get stomach cancer and what I’ve been through has lit this fire 🔥 inside of me spread awareness, to help others, and to make change. •

Which exercise is better?
Well, pretty much like every other exercise, it depends on your goals.
Both exercises are great for lat activation.
The chinups (narrow) activates more of the biceps, and involves more of anterior kinetic chain which includes the abs.
The pullups (wide) involves more of the forearms, mid-upper back muscles, and involves more of posterior kinetic chain which includes the lower back.

  • Over the past five weeks, I’ve been teaching an introduction to machine sewing class and a how to make the perfect A-line skirt class at @downinggross.
Teaching has become another true passion of mine. It has brought me so much joy and fulfillment beyond my wildest dreams. It has been an honor and a privilege to get to share my knowledge and love for sewing with others. It has been so inspiring to watch my students grow and learn each week. Many of them come into the classes having never touched a sewing machine and to see them leave at the end of the courses with the confidence to keep sewing and making on their own is truly amazing. To watch each person’s progress and passion expand over the course of my classes is so encouraging. Having students come in with no prior knowledge of sewing and seeing them become ignited with a desire to learn is so empowering. Sharing my skills, communicating concepts, creating conversations and motivating my students has brought me so much happiness. Not only are my students learning and growing but I am too. Teaching has been life changing for me. 
It has become another goal and dream of mine to empower others through sewing. 
Going into next year, I’m going to continue to teach and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m going to keep doing classes, start teaching workshops and offer private sewing lessons too. 
I want to help change the world, one stitch at a time. .
