  • 2020 is the year for 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In the last year & a half I have learnt that life gets so much better when you start believing in the magic inside you. Negative self-talk blocks all the blessings you long for. Understand that will never have your desires if you are constantly telling yourself that you: ‘don’t deserve them, aren’t pretty enough, aren’t smart enough.’ Start talking to yourself differently & watch how things shift in your favor. Today I’m telling myself that: ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I am kind. ⁣⁣
I am capable. ⁣⁣
I am smart. ⁣⁣
I am beautiful. ⁣⁣
I am powerful. ⁣⁣

  • Recently @morgan.codes shared in her story a situation where someone criticized and questioned her work and her abilities. I’ve encountered similar situations. Men speaking to me as if I have no idea what I’m doing or telling me how to write my code in a different way because the way I did it (which is correct) isn’t how they would do it. I’ve had other women coders speak down to me based on the content I share because it’s not what they would share as developers. @joeel56 has shared on a few occasions messages she’s received from people criticizing her for posting hobbies and passions she has that are apart from coding. So I have to ask, who gave our audiences permission to speak to us this way. Who decided it was OK to dissect and dismantle our content, our skills, our hobbies and passions and criticize us. It’s not helpful, it’s bullying. That’s all it is and it’s no longer going to be tolerated. If I see someone make an uncessesary or hateful comment on someone’s post it’ll be reported for what it is, harassment. You will be publicly called out, if not by me or the OP, by someone. Women in tech have had enough, content creators have had enough, I have had enough.

  • Imagine having an everyday like the one you feel when you finally dress up, style your hair, and do your make-up!
-
I know my everyday is like that. The best accessory I get to wear now is my confidence & pure happiness. Everyday I wake up & can’t wait to see how I look in my pants or jeans compared to the prior week. Every week is progress and every week my body is getting stronger and it’s showing in my toned legs and arms and slim waist. Everyday I feel like I look my best even when just wearing tennis and sweats. That’s definitely how you feel when you found something that works, helps you stay consistent, and is getting results!
-
I have my newest challenge to thank, Barre Blend! It’s a unique and efficient way to get a full body work out. I never imagined all the possible ways to work out my abs without having to do actually sit ups! I can now challenge myself and resist taking a break even after feeling the burn for many counts. From the preparation to the first week and now the second week of this workout I can feel the difference. I have 4 more weeks to go! Can’t wait to see how I’ll feel & look then.
-
Best part! All done from the comfort of my home!

  • 23 LAPS AROUND THE SUN! ☀️
.
Wow, what a year it’s been! My 22nd year was FULL of growth, love, acceptance, happy tears, and some sad, finding my passion, growing a business + a team, pursuing my dreams as a Doctor or Chiropractic, and a lot of time spent with the Lord.
.
I learned lessons I never thought I would, met the coolest people in the world, was able to accomplish things I never imagined possible, and just finally embraced who I was.
.
I’m so thankful for another year here, another year of wisdom, and another year of getting to serve this community!!! I have the BEST job in the world being a fitness coach & the fact that I get to impact each of your lives everyday is BEYOND motivating. You all are the BEST gift a girl could have! 🎁 Each one of you allows me to discover my purpose here on this earth every day, and none of this would be possible without you ❤️
.
Thank you to everyone who reached out, wished me happy birthday, and sent prayers my way this week! I feel them ALL! ❤️
.
Cheers to 23🥂

  • BABY LISTEN👂🏾...
▫️
This kind of posturing requires a process and a journey of self love and self mastery. It may take some time to get there but OH WHEN IT CLICKS IN YOUR SOUL ain’t nothing anyone can say or do to make you believe otherwise!
▫️
It’s redemption season! Paying homage to my fave @indiaarie whose words and music constantly keeps me reminded of who I REALLY am daily!
▫️
If you will are going to work harder on accepting your door ness type, “me” in the comments and tag a Boss that you want to encourage today!👇🏾

  • You owe it to yourself to become everything you were meant to be. Chase light. Chase things that make you feel alive. Passions that fill your soul, ideas and dreams that keep you up at night. Chase things that taste like freedom, that make your mind spin with joy. Chase light in the sense of fostering it within yourself and the people around you ✨

  • AIN'T THIS THE T.R U.T.H. 💯💯💯 SISTERS BE DOING IT FOR OUR OURSELVES 💪
-------- Now there was a time
When they used to say
That behind every great man
There had to be a great woman

But in these times of change
You know that it's no longer true
So we're comin' out of the kitchen
'Cause there's somethin' we forgot to say to you, we say

Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Standin' on their own two feet
And ringin' on their own bells, we say
Sisters are doin' it for themselves

Now this is a song
To celebrate
The conscious liberation
Of the female state

Mothers, daughters
And their daughters too
Woman to woman
We're singin' with you

The inferior sex
Got a new exterior
We got doctors
Lawyers, politicians too

Everybody take a look around
Can you see, can you see
Can you see there's a woman
Right next to you, we say

Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Standin' on their own two feet
And ringin' on their own bells
Sisters are doin' it for themselves

Now we ain't makin' stories
Oh, we ain't layin' plans
Don't you know that a man still loves a woman
And a woman still loves a man
Just the same way

Sisters are doin' it for themselves

There was a time
When they used to say
That behind every great man
There had to be a great woman

But in these times of change
You know that it's no longer true
So we're comin' out of the kitchen

Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Standin' on their own two feet
And ringin' on their own bells
Sisters are doin' it for themselves

Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Sisters are doin' it, doin' it, doin' it
Doin' it, doin' it, doin' it
Sisters are doin' it for themselves, yeah
Sisters are doin' it for themselves

  • i had big goals for my podcast when i launched it last year. but then life happened.

the biggest thing that put my podcast at a dead stop was going to counseling. brady and i were sick of allowing unhealthy people into our lives and making excuses of why it was okay to be treated poorly just to have them as part of it. and then we’ve learned and keep learning some valuable lessons for us to live the most happy and thriving life we can live.

i’ll tell you one thing; counseling is not for weak people. no way. you have to be humble (not easy to do) and open to changing your habits that have “protected” you all your life.

so with that said, i think we’re at a place that we can start recording again! we have a date written down this week to record and hopefully i’ll release an episode next week! i have interviews saved that i’ll also release after that! (thanks for being so patient during this crazy time of our lives)

i’m so grateful for anyone that has listened to my podcast. it’s about to get a whole lot better! here we go!

  • Ever told your boss, "There's no way in hell I'm going to do that dumb shit."
⠀
If not, I have. And I've lived to tell the tale:
⠀
I know what it's like to hate your day job, have a boss who gives you the chills (the shitty kind), and wish you could go to lunch and never return.
⠀
Fuuuug do I remember those days.
⠀
At my last job (over 6 years ago) I was asked to do things that were unethical.
⠀
But I don't play that way.
⠀
I needed the job, but I also needed some motivation to speak my damn mind. I designed a bracelet that read “FUCK IT” to empower me to be courageous.
⠀
Being a strong-ass woman with a backbone, I knew that the worst case scenario would be getting fired.
⠀
Fuck it.
⠀
When I was asked to do dumb skeez shit, I’d grip my bracelet.
⠀
I said no and told him it was wrong to even think the things he asked were okay, and to never ask me again.
⠀
My boss hated it.
⠀
Compromising my values for this dude’s short term gains was not my fucking purpose in life. It paid the bills, still, I wanted out bad.
⠀
I use to daydream at my desk. Fingers pausing and resting on the keyboard.
⠀
I'd look out the window, take a deep breath, and imagine running my own business one day. I knew I’d never ask my employees to do or say anything unethical.
⠀
I KNEW I was going to work for myself. I knew before I stepped foot into elementary school at 5 years old.
⠀
Business ideas, creating, and helping people has always come naturally.
⠀
It was while still working at my last shitty job (described above) that I purchased my first set of jewelry stamps for just $10 at a local bead store.
⠀
Laying on my living room floor, I stamped "FUCK" into a metal charm that cost me 50 cents.
⠀
Never would I have guessed that my love of words and writing would merge with my rebellious here-to-fuck-shit-up attitude would turn into a brand that has shipped jewelry to over 4,000 women around the world.
⠀
You NEVER know what can happen or when it’ll happen.
⠀
Never stop dreaming or believing in what you want.
⠀
Are you in the I-want-to-quit-my-job club? Emoji’s if you are👇
⠀
(Ps. After a few more months, I quit as an executive assistant and never went back to a day job again.)

  • I'm actually hard at work here. At home, and at work. Simultaneously. Working on what I want to work on, when I want to work on it, and no one is telling me when I have to do X, or when I can take a break... or what I can/have to wear. It's pretty cool

  • 💯 HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CREATE A HABIT? Science says that making a habit stick takes at least 2 months. Habits are important as they create automatic behaviour and take the mental effort out of tasks. We don't think about what we're doing, we just do it!⁣ ⁣
⁣
This form of self-discipline allows us to eliminate certain decision-making processes, making our lives easier.⁣ ⁣
⁣
🚀Want to form a new habit? Motivate yourself with a reward and change your mindset around the formation of the habit by thinking of habits as MINI GOALS. People like to hit goals but it's not as fun to stick to a habit. Weird, but true!⁣ ⁣
⁣

  • 💯 HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CREATE A HABIT? Science says that making a habit stick takes at least 2 months. Habits are important as they create automatic behaviour and take the mental effort out of tasks. We don't think about what we're doing, we just do it!⁣ ⁣

This form of self-discipline allows us to eliminate certain decision-making processes, making our lives easier.⁣ ⁣

  • Happy 13-Year Entrepreneur Anniversary to ME! 13 years ago today I made a commitment to my side hustle that eventually led to 4 businesses, amazing TEAMS, and a complete life change!
I was teaching in LAUSD (shoutout Belvedere Middle School) at the time, but needed to make extra money to pay back some student loans. I had a passion to help hard-working families learn about finances to help them prepare for their future, so I signed up for a course that forever changed my life. I was waking up at 4am to work my way through traffic from Chino to East LA to be at work by 6am, I'd leave work at 3:30p to get to my second job at the mall (a Chican@ tshirt shop) at the Montclair Mall by 5p, and rush over to my financial/insurance course after my mall job, and be done with my day by 11p.
I believed wholeheartedly that I would make it and that this wild schedule was the small price I would have to pay until then!

What I've learned in 13 years of entrepreneurship:

1) Believe that you can manifest anything you set your mind to
2)Working hard works!
3) Don't be afraid to lose
4) Surround yourself with positive folks who believe in you - only!
5) Mental Strength is everything - monitor your thoughts & be positive.

Which one of these resonates with you?
