Smile because it happened 😁
Sometimes life takes unexpected turns - while it’s difficult to smile through the hard times - smiling more and more from the heart melts bitterness for what life has thrown our way 🦋💕😬

#friends "Well, this started off innocently enough..." This describes my adventures with my friend from high school, Fran.
Yesterday I called Fran to check in and discuss plans to attend a friend's Mom's wake together.
As expected, we ended the phone conversation laughing to the place of no return.
We were laughing about just a few of the activities that we have done with our friend Carol. I could not possibly document here the many plans we made that started off innocently enough.
We met up at the funeral home later in the day and enjoyed our time seeing old friends and being present for Laura and the memory of her Mother. As Fran and I sat on a sofa waiting for Carol and another high school friend, Chris, to arrive, we ended up conversing innocently enough and yet within seconds we were laughing, tears streaming down our faces and I was doubling over.
I arrived back home and my Gary Larson Cartoon Collection caught my eye. I wanted to keep the laughing going. I threw some snacks on the table, grabbed Volume I, which coincidentally covered 1980-1981, part of our years together in high school, and opened to the first page. I saw this quote and melted.
Common human coronaviruses, including types 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1, usually cause mild to moderate upper-respiratory tract illnesses, like the common cold. Most people get infected with these viruses at some point in their lives. These illnesses usually only last for a short amount of time. Symptoms may include
a general feeling of being unwell
Human coronaviruses can sometimes cause lower-respiratory tract illnesses, such as pneumonia or bronchitis. This is more common in people with cardiopulmonary disease, people with weakened immune systems, infants, and older adults.
Other human coronaviruses
Two other human coronaviruses, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV have been known to frequently cause severe symptoms. MERS symptoms usually include fever, cough, and shortness of breath which often progress to pneumonia. About 3 or 4 out of every 10 patients reported with MERS have died. MERS cases continue to occur, primarily in the Arabian Peninsula. SARS symptoms often included fever, chills, and body aches which usually progressed to pneumonia. No human cases of SARS have been reported anywhere in the world since 2004.
Your healthcare provider may order laboratory tests on respiratory specimens and serum (part of your blood) to detect human coronaviruses. Laboratory testing is more likely to be used if you have severe disease or are suspected of having MERS.
