I've been watching Gentleman Jack for the past few weeks and I'm really loving it! I'm totally planning an Ann Walker cosplay with @tekline as Anne Lister who is going to KILL it. This cosplay was made for her. Normally I do not care for this style and although I still hate the hair I love the dresses so this is going to happen sometime.
... I listened to a podcast about Anne Lister last year and became fascinated with her and this show is such a faithful portrayal of her character. It is so refreshing to see a historic member of the LGBTQ community being so confident and unapologetic about who she is. Many people like to pretend that queer people didn't exist until recently but that is simply not true, we just have so little accounts simply because they were forced to hide that part of themselves for the threat of being punished, to have an actual historic account of Anne Lister is incredible and a gift; especially being as explicated as she was about her life leaving no room for argument of well maybe she wasn't and that's just how people wrote back then (ie how much pushback there is against even the suggestion Hamilton could have had a relationship with a man). It's so important to show that queer people have always existed and as much a part of history as everyone else. I always think about how many people had similar stories but have been lost to the fear and discrimination of the societies they have lived in. It's even more complicated because as you can imagine being white and rich made it easier for both Annes to go against the societal normal, a chance that most did not have. I hope this show paves the way to tell the other stories that have been forced to hide in the shadows, and bring them to the light.
Wow!! Thank you all for participating in my poll yesterday! 🤗 I learned an immense amount from your responses. I’ll be reaching out more often with questions to continue narrowing down your needs. I love you all!
Also, I’m working on a special project with the LGBTQ+ community. If you or someone you know in the community and has great style or a fashion influencer, please share their handle here or DM it to me 😘 // _

Don't ever let a grandma,
Do your makeup.
First big mistake,
She will use outdated cosmetics.
It's not 1947,
Nana "wake up"!! Her shaking hands,
Can't make a precise line.
Don't even think of letting her close to the eyeliner,
She would probably stab you in the eye.
She can't even see,
And doesn't even know,
If she's awake,
Or it's all a dream.
The old bitch has one more trick up her sleeve,
Wrong fucking colours.
There was a boy called Johnny,
Who thought he was cool.
But he was just a boy,
Who was very cruel.
He used to eat ants,
And rip away wings off the flies.
Mom you're feeding a new Hitler,
The other mother cried.
Because he beat up little Jimmy,
Over a chewing gum.
Jimmy always shares,
But it was his last one.
Big mistake he made,
Big mistake, punch in the head.
He made Johnny angry,
He made Johnny mad.
Jimmy was a little sissy,
But started plotting a revenge.
Started doing push ups and bench,
At that tender age.
Johnny found out what Jimmy started to do,
Johnny got angry, knocked out Jimmy's tooth.
Not a milk tooth, but a new one, which he only had for a while.
Jimmy's a little twerp, who will forever have a messed up smile.
