Happy FriYay! I’ve been making task lists to keep me on track during the day. Every night before bed I plan out the following day. I write down the things I need to get done for that specific day and give myself no excuses 🙅🏼♀️ It’s not magic and it isn’t anything crazy but its just enough to keep myself accountable and make sure I’m getting the things done that I usually put off (laundry 🙈). This was something I decided to do for the new year and have found it to be extremely beneficial! Anyone else do anything like this? ✍🏼
A few things I put on my list everyday:
• 45min walk 🚶🏼♀️🐶
• 30min of stretching 🧘🏼♀️
• 1hr of studying 🤓
• Read 1 chapter from whatever book I am reading 📖
• Clean house for at least 15min 🧼
🤔 A lot of lessons have been learnt over the past few months of working with @ed_haynes_coach . Shifting my priorities from training for fun - to training towards the goal of competing again has not been the easiest of paths to take. .
So far, this journey has left me with an even bigger appreciation of high level competitors (in any sport). 🙌🏽 The time, dedication, sacrifices and commitment it takes to get to their level is often not acknowledged or recognised. We see their success stories, and their “highlight reel” - but what we don’t see, is the countless hours they put into ironing out their weaknesses, and improving their skill set. What we see as a seemingly effortless lift, or an impressive gymnastic movement… they’ve spent days, months, potentially even years, failing and trying to perfect. .
There are so many things I need to work on. But that is why I love this sport. I’m constantly challenged to be better, and never become complacent - which in turn, keeps me on my toes. I’d be lying if I said there weren’t some days where I wanted to throw in the towel. It can be pretty overwhelming doing things you perceive yourself as “bad” at on a daily basis 🤯. But it is on those specific days that I make a conscious effort to remember WHY I’m doing this all in the first place. To be a better version of myself. To have the courage to put myself into the battle field, win or lose.. The fact that I’m there, armoured up and ready to go - is already success in my eyes🤩. .
So here’s to the upcoming 2020 season… I’m in. I may not be the strongest, fittest or most talented athlete out there...but I’ll work my butt off to be the best I can be. 👌🏽 #FiredUp#Athlete#Motivation#BuildingABetterMe
Quest to be a @gymshark day #1569
It sounds crazy until it happens!
Sometimes you will have an outrageous goal, but it’s your outrageous goal! So don’t let yourself be put into doubt mode from people or things that don’t see what you see.

Words from a message to a client that may help if you’re feeling demotivated...
“Don’t be disheartened. For noticeable visual changes you need to string together at least several weeks of consistency. It takes a while. Try not to focus too much on where you are right now and instead put all your focus into being consistent and following the plan. This is what will get things happening. String together successful days which then become weeks and then before you know it it has been months and you look back at old pictures and can’t believe how much you have changed. If you focus on where you are now and how far you are from where you want to be you will lose your mind and become down and demotivated and maybe give up. One step at a time. Then keep going. Keep going. Then you will succeed”. #
Tonight we put another notch on the post for legs and we will do it again and again and again. Happy #flexfriday 😝

Wasn't supposed to touch a barbell today, but I'm glad I did! I was feeling good so I figured I would try some deads again. Hit a PR @ 380lbsx5. Moving on to 390lbs next week. I also did the following:
Pullups: 3x8-10 (not filmed)
Reverse Grip Curls: 3x12-15
1 Arm Cable Curls: 3x12 °
• I know that I'm not a big guy. I never have been and probably never will be. I will continue to focus on getting stronger though 😁°
