most of us probably are getting close to the end of the semester & finals which can be a super stressful time. thankfully, this semester most of my finals are papers/projects instead of exams! but here are my tips for staying on track during a busy & stressful week!
🌈PLAN AHEAD- don’t start studying for exams the night before when you have multiple. make a schedule and plan out your days maybe even down to the hour for when you’ll study, workout, eat, whatever
🌈WORKOUT WHEN YOU CAN- don’t freak out if you miss a couple gym sessions. but, for most people the gym is a huge stress reliever, so if it helps you, find time to fit a quick workout in
🌈MEAL PREP- i normally not a meal prep kind of gal because i don’t really like reheated food, but during finals i always prep. save time cooking every day by prepping meals and snacks ahead of time so you can have more time to study/prepare for finals
these are just a few things i do myself to stay on track when i know i’m going to be really busy & stressed! i hope these are helpful🤓💓
STOP 🛑! In the name of halitosis, before you get periodontitis‼️

Alright people we got some stabilization prep for your leg day! If you notice this happens to you. Or always wondering why your lower back feels like its overstretching / pulling. It usually is related to just an imbalance in the hips specifically here the hamstrings. that pull your hips into more of a posterior pelvic tilt.
Honestly if you're serious about being functional, strong and work to your maximum potential with the least amount of setbacks and the most amount of gains long term. You need to be doing mobility and stabilization prep in your workouts!

Sure, maybe that girl has the abs you’ve always wanted, or her hair and makeup always look perfect, and she seems to have it all together.
BUT WHAT IF...
What if she's been working her butt off for 8,9,10 years to get those abs, whereas you’re only on year 1 or 2 of your fitness journey. .
What if the reason she wears all that makeup is because she’s insecure and doesn’t think she’s pretty. .
From the outside it’s easy to draw the wrong conclusions about someone else’s life. It’s easy to perceive them as better or more talented then us. .

Building awareness and skill through a simple challenge.
Since my hip injury over 2 months ago I developed a new strategy for lifting things. Because of pain in my left hip I would either about lifting anything heavy or, if I had to, would throw my left leg back in a kickstand and only lift through my right hip.
Even though I*know* I can lift pain-free with both hips, I've developed a sticky habit of throwing my left leg back every time I bend down.
So today I decided to work on that a bit. I scattered some objects of varying weights and shapes around the floor to practice lifting and carrying each object mindfully. I need to re-train my brain that it is safe to move through a symmetrical hip hinge.
I have the strength.
I have the race of motion.
I have pain-free control.
But I've already developed a new habit that I want to kick!
Un-learning habits is hard work: and it only took me 2 months to develop this one!
Give yourself lots of time and compassion when you're trying to replace old habits with new ones, no matter how long you've been practicing them. And be creative in how you retrain your brain. It's fun!

This rant is something I had to be real with you because it pissed me off partly because many of us with okay genetics who are skinny or average work our asses for every single gram of muscle and every lb of fat we lose so when people use excuses like genetics to limit themselves and discredit others ..you can suck my 🍆.
