School’s out for summer! 🙌
I still can’t believe Brookie’s finished his first year of school! So much has changed and we’ve both grown so much. It’s been our first year away from each other, ever.
Your first year of being in a new environment. Your first year of learning from other teachers. Your first year of making your own friends. Your first year of uniforms and lunch boxes. Your first year of 5pm dinners and bed by 6. What a star you are.
It’s been my first year without you by my side, not knowing your every move. It’s been my first year of actually having to let you go and put my trust in someone else. It’s been my first year of watching you thrive with your teachers and friends. It’s been my first year of packing lunches and forgetting to wash your uniforms. It’s been my first year of parent/teacher interviews, excursions and school events. Prep 2019, done in a blink of an eye.
We’ve made some beautiful friends and feel so grateful it’s been such an amazing first year of school for us both.
So if you’ve got a little one starting school (or daycare) in the new year, I’m here to tell you it’s going to be okay. You will look back on these days with a grateful smile.
There is no one who would best be you than YOU! Every successful person had something in them that they could not get from anyone or anything other than their selves. Never be afraid to show who you really are, just like the song "true colors" let your colors shine and don't be afraid to let it show.
Every person is unique and everyone is special in their own way and that uniqueness in you will contribute to your success.
When Anina Net started to action her plan to become the fashion tech model, so many organizations told her she could only do tech-or only be a fashion model. She just let them go, and forged ahead the way she thought was right—and it was alone.
Times have changed and the world has caught up—organizations need people who are multitalented, multifaceted, and can be bridges between silo’s.
That what makes you unique is now your superpower. Let your light shine.
No one really prepares you for life.
Sure, we can be taught a great deal of things, but the things that will mold us as human, can only be learned through experience.
Knowing about something and living through it are two entirely different things. When we haven’t experienced something but know it exists in the world, we only know it from the surface - we are aware of the words that are associated with it but disconnected with everything else.
However, when we experience something, it slowly seeps into our being, changing perspectives as we knew it. It can feel like we’ve opened your eyes for the first time and now we’re forced to see the world through a different lens. All experiences, all breathtaking highs and heart-wrenching lows, mold us into a slightly different version of ourselves.
Yet these experiences don’t define us. They may shape us but will not limit us. It depends what we do with that experience and if it can be used as a source of growth, awareness and insight. What they’ll do is help us help others in order to figure out how to handle certain situations. The greatest life lessons come from experiences, and every human’s experience is different from the next. That’s what makes us all so incredibly unique because we bring such diverse perspectives to the table.
You don’t have to agree, or try to understand to agree. I do encourage you, for even the slightest bit, to try to see, to try to understand one’s perspective from the other side. To try and understand that person in front of you.
Standing here firmly with you, always.
It must be the upcoming festivities cause I am getting nostalgic AF with a side order of whimsy. In full festivas planning mode pretties and this year I’m adding hand-rolled beeswax candles to the “look” with my little terrazzo dishes that serve as candle holders. Thinking of listing some on my online shop 🤔 We likey? #beeswaxcandles#christmasdecor#candlestickholders
Advent 💗
I attended my first ballet class when I was 4, did modern dance in primary school till the age of 14, then I quit partly because I was rather lazy to practise but a bigger reason was the fact that I just wasn’t comfortable in my body. I thought I was too skinny and I didn’t like the way I looked in the leotard, all skin and bones. Coming back to dance as an adult hasn’t been easy but it’s definitely been a fun journey. If I have children one day I want to encourage them to pursue what gives them joy. 🤗

This plane is full of magical places and the "Hill of crosses" in Lithuania is definitely one of them. 🇱🇹❤️
Here's another #throwback to last year when we visited seven countries in only one week. We started in Poland and visited Warsaw, then continued to Lithuania. 😊
It was a great trip, even though it was pretty exhausting, too! But I can highly recommend visiting the #balticstates . 😍

Yes I lost weight and I don’t care. At least I’m living a happier life today.

Artist's Palette is an area on the face of the Black Mountains noted for a variety of rock colors. These colors are caused by the oxidation of different metals (iron compounds, decomposition of tuff-derived mica and manganese produce the colors). This was my favorite spot in Death Valley! 🙆 _________________________________________________
