  • Ben and I are making a few changes to our bus house 🚎 now that we’re hanging onto it. We’re planning to rework the kitchen and add a two burner propane stove and oven. For anyone that knows me and my passion for healthy cooking and baking, this is A LONG time coming. A loooooong time.

How did we cook for the 18 months we lived full time on the bus? I made all of our delicious meals on a single burner butane cooktop. We rocked it too. So two burners will be the DREAM. We also bought a little toaster oven toward the end which really helped in the vegan chocolate cake department, but required the use of our generator and has to be moved when we drive. Sometimes you have to try things out and occasionally realize nope, that doesn’t work for us. Start simple and adjust as needed, it doesn’t have to be perfect right away.

Through this on the road culinary experience, I got pretty darn crafty with meal planning, timing and layers of ingredients. 👩‍🍳 I’m thankful for any means to cook.

Any suggestions for a brand of oven/stove combo that’s worked for you in your tiny home, van or bus?! 🔥 Send your favorites our way!

Through this passion of bodybuilding & endlessly hustling to help my clients transform, I was able to build a successful online coaching business and move to Los Angeles where I came to the rude awakening: I did not want to body-build anymore. ⁣

The truth was that I wanted to help people build something better out of themselves and for so many people, it starts with getting healthy. ⁣
⁣
But we can’t get healthy, without breaking through the beliefs that hold us back from getting there. ⁣
⁣
This realization lead me to where I’m at now as a coach and person. ⁣
⁣
I now focus on the mindset of each client I work with while also giving them the strategy to get healthy too because without our mind being in the right place, the body will not follow. ⁣

Why am I posting this tonight though? ⁣
⁣
Well, I want to be fully transparent that I’m still trying to figure myself out. I’ve grown a great deal in my 25 years of life & I’ve had a tremendous amount to overcome. ⁣
⁣
But, there’s always another mountain and you’ve got to be willing to see it in order to climb it. ⁣
⁣
I just hope this message reached the right person & this gives them permission to begin aligning their life because of who they are, not what they believe they must do. ⁣

  • You know when life gets crazy most tend to skimp on food and fitness? Last week seemed so crazy for us and we found ourselves ordering dinner more than I’d like to admit. We try to only order food or go out 1x a week but last week was crazy! We committed to making food for the next two weeks because let’s face it, home cooked food makes you feel better. Right? Tonight I was feeling like taco spaghetti squash boats 😀 I prep all the food when my kids nap (on a good day) that way I have no excuses. Second pic is one of my kids plates. I try very hard not to make my kids food other than ours. I personally feel like it’s a bad habit to start (but I’ve done it). On a mission to keep my family as healthy as possible and teach them good eating habits! 💜❤️🥦🍇🍉

When I was raising my two kiddos I tried really hard to feed them well and make good choices...or so I thought!🤦‍♀️

The food marketing geniuses of the world had me fooled and I bet you may have even fallen for their traps.🎯

🥫They label packages with words like..
.
●Whole Grain ●Gluten Free ●Sugar Free ●Low Fat ● Veggie Blends ●Veggie Burgers ●Organic Blends .
Now, don't get me wrong, these "labels" aren't all bad, but if your food comes in a bag or a box it is still processed to some degree. Often manufacturers use these words on foods that may never even have contained the ingredients in the first place.🤦‍♀️

This is deceiving and frustrating when you are trying to eat better.
Gluten free cookies are still cookies my friends!😢🍪 Granola cereal is loaded with sugar. 😮 Sugar free sodas are loaded with artificial sweeteners that are dangerous and unhealthy. .
So what can we do??🤷‍♀️

In order to truly feed your family healthy, REAL IS BEST!! 🍓
.
Fresh food that comes closest to it's natural state offers the most nutritional value.🍎🥑 .
🕵️‍♀️Always check the ingredient list if you buy processed foods. The least amount of ingredients is best. If you don't recognize the chemical names in your food, do you really want to eat it???😮 🙄Don't fall for manufactured goodness promises! Know what you are eating by educating yourself first!!😍

  • This photo pains me bc there isnt any green garnish- must be the family-restaurant-owner/chef-wife in me 🤣 but it still hit the spot. My usual- simple & quick (probably super duper untraditional) ramen but I made it with beef bone broth instead of the usual chicken and it was great! Also added some thinly cut beef to it as well. 🍜

  • In today's workout, I push myself to use 10-pound weights for some moves, and I was surprised that I could actually do it! I still have to go back to 5 lb weights for the shoulder exercises, but hey, progress is progress! How far could you grow if you pushed beyond your perceived limits?

  • Putting our best {feet} forward this whole week, so far, because littlest man is cutting SIX teeth at one time. Six. 
We have ALL the Copiaba + frankincense + clove close by at all times. 
I don’t know why it took me so long to think of this- but I made an actual teething roller🤯. It’s a life {&time} saver.

I just apply it all neat to his jaw line, behind his ears + roll some on my finger tip & apply straight to his gums.

  • It’s OK to Rest “Resting” – it’s so counterintuitive to the “go, go, go”  mentality.  It’s hustle at work, hustle at home, hit it hard every day and “boom” success comes our way.  We move ahead in our career, sport & life.  My family leads a very hustle oriented life, mainly because with 4 kids, two working parents, school, sports and life, we are always on the go.  Not everyone agrees with how we choose to live our life and we are ok with that.  Our kids are happy and our family thrives on a bit of chaos.🤪🤪 So, taking a break to rest is a little foreign to the way we live.  Life’s circumstances are dictating rest in a big way.  A nagging wrist injury is keeping me out of the gym for a bit.  Head games aplenty about how that’s going to negatively impact my progress, etc. abound, but I’m trying to embrace the slower place of a different routine and keeping up with nutrition and a little extra sleep in the morning. 
Why do we feel guilty or play head-games about resting? 
Slowing down a little seems to be a concept we have a hard time accepting – maybe we’ll miss out on something or lose some footing. Slowing down is necessary to rest, recharge and re-focus.  It’s so easy to lose sight of our priorities and focus when we live on the auto-pilot of “go” all the time.  So if life is forcing you to rest for whatever reason, breathe it in and accept it.  Know that it’s a season. 
Figure out what you can do in your  season of rest to recharge in order to tackle your dreams when you hit “go.” For me, it’s a bit more sleep, personal development first thing in the morning, stretching/flexibility work and goal setting.

It’s so easy to lose sight of our priorities and focus when we live on the auto-pilot of “go” all the time. So if life is forcing you to rest for whatever reason, breathe it in and accept it. Know that it’s a season.
    Figure out what you can do in your season of rest to recharge in order to tackle your dreams when you hit “go.” For me, it’s a bit more sleep, personal development first thing in the morning, stretching/flexibility work and goal setting.

  • My inner mean girl has been trying to sneak her way into my head lately + thoughts like ‘bloated=fat’ have been trying to convince me that I’m not worthy of enjoying my food rather than seeing it as a punishment. .
.
The thing about eating disorders or body dysmorphia, they never tell you that with each meal + bite you’ll think “this is because I need to lose weight” or “this is because I had a donut today” .
.
I’ve realized with my flexible eating plan [not a diet!!] that food is FUEL, it’s not a punishment or reward. It’s for functionality. It’s drive to be able to pick my daughter up + swing her around + play without being exhausted. Its for adventuring with my hubby + enjoying the life we have. It’s being able to look myself in the mirror + being proud that it’s given birth. And now I get to show my daughter that her worth isn’t determined by her bloat, her weight or the pant size she’s in. She’ll know that veggies are good for her and so are a few little treats.

Im so thankful for the freedom of food + learning what my body needs + overcoming my inner mean girl. we can use it to do so much G O O D. 🌿
