Your mountain is different to my mountain. We all struggle with different things. And some more than others. So, with that in mind, I’m proud to announce that I have teamed up with the martial arts legend @paddyholohanmma and Alan Kavanagh, an incredible man who has worked tirelessly for years, helping people in Dublin.
Together, we’re running a programme for men who need help. They’ll be taught bbj, Wim Hof Method and effective coping strategies. The programme is called Fire&Ice and if it works well, we hope to roll it out to more people.
Here we are on @noshamecast talking about the programme. Check out the latest episode now to hear the full conversation.
It’s so incredible that sometimes the very thing you have been looking for gets thrown in your path 💥 I was saying to a dear friend last night that change is very uncomfortable for me 😮 But when you are literally given no choice that brings freedom 🙌 But we do have a choice don’t we - we can ignore the signal for change or we can respond to it by making a change 🌹🥀 Challenges reveal so much about ourselves and that can also be really difficult to confront to 🤔 Just take the first step I say and then before you know it you will be doing 10,000 steps 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️
Monday morning BreadBeard deliveries. Commuting by bike has been making me uptight recently. The volume and attitude of motorised traffic has made for a very negative riding experience, which has started to rob me of my riding pleasure. So this morning I made a real effort to pick a route that was either a little used road or a traffic free option. When your mechanism to relax and enjoy starts to become a negative experience, it can be a worry... But today I managed to arrive at work feeling much more positive, which a relief I can tell you! Have a good Monday 😁
Starting tomo, we are doing a nurture week at school. Everyday you do something nice for the person you have been given. I think it’s such a lovely thing to do. Taking the time to show someone you care, and taking the time to remember that people count more than anything. Schools are all about results these days, but you must also look after the staff at its core. My buddy is getting a couple of slices of homemade lemon syrup cake to add some zing to a tough Monday morning! Now got to think of what to do for Tuesday ☺️ #nurtureweek#lookaftereachother#lemonsyrupcake#baking#cake#teachersofinstagram#peoplematter
Know how to express your emotions , without bottling them up, is more important than some fake bravado of toughness from not crying.
Feel passionate about this picking up from what @mrjonnybenjamin reported about the negative response that the Duke of Sussex received. He has been criticised for shedding tears during the #wellchildawards .
Jonny made a valid point about teaching empathy from a young age and I could not agree more! As a mum of 2 boys i'm trying to teach them about the importance of recognising their emotions and to feel comfortable to talk about their feelings.
We need to STOP telling men to 'man up'. In the UK suicide is still the biggest killer of men under 45!
...will you help someone who is out in the cold? ❤️
This winter I will be volunteering at Winter Night Shelter MK, on a Saturday evening to help provide the evening meal.
WNSMK provides supervised overnight accommodation and meals to homeless and vulnerable people, who would otherwise be rough sleeping in Milton Keynes during the coldest months of the year (November–March).
They work in partnership with many churches and community centres across the city who provide their facilities as an overnight venue.
In addition to essential shelter, people are also able to access drug and alcohol support services, to obtain housing advice, move on to longer-term accommodation and to find work.
As well as making amazing natural hair and skin care goodies, CONCHUS is ABOUT LIFE.
And this means all life.
The life of your family.
The lives of others.
The life of the environment.
The life of our planet.
They say most people are only three pay checks away from homelessness. Just THREE!
I’ll admit that I find it difficult to imagine not having a safe place to live, and a warm bed to sleep in each night 😢
There are people out there who have unimaginable struggles each day, and as winter is an exceptionally hard time for homeless people, I decided to give up my Saturdays to help provide someone with a home cooked hot meal, and the safety and warmth of a night indoors ❄️
I’m also planning to make batches of an all purpose balm to donate for face, hands and everywhere else ❤️
>> Do you volunteer locally with projects or services?
>> What could you do this winter (and ongoing) to help someone in need?
A reflection on my week 😍❤️😃🌳🐶 The big news is I went back to Bikram Yoga 🧘🏻♀️🤗🥳💥 I also went to 2 amazing industry briefings this week which were inspiring and really highlighted some opportunities which is always exciting 🤗 I also got to my kids sport this week too so all in all what started out as a bit of a scary/challenging week ended up turning around 🥳 I absolutely loved the art work which greeted me as I headed up the stairs to my Bikram yoga class 🤗⭐️🌈 The greatest challenge creates the greatest opportunity for change ☄️💥🔥🌈☀️

The two sides of Social Media! I have been wanting to do this for a while! There is the filtered, beautiful side we show the world. Then there is the dark, sad, emotional, self conscious and anxious side. We mostly see the good things on social media, no one shares their bad days!! I have personally noticed the sh*tty side to social media recently but I have also noticed the good side too. The reason behind me doing this post is mainly to show people you just dont know whats going on behind the filter! Stop being so fu*king mean to each other! Promote people when you can, build someone up if you notice they need it!! Just be nice!! You never know how one little thing you do or say whether good or bad can affect someones day! #BENICE#LookAfterEachOther#spreadpositivity#positivethoughts

It’s weird to think that a year ago I didn’t know most of the people around this table.
A year ago things sucked.
This year things have been better!
Thanks to all those who helped me get out of the other side of last year in one piece!
Had the pleasure of meeting this lovely man (Ian Gomes) who is the pianist at the Ritz, he has also played for Frank Sinatra and the Royals. As well as telling me about his life and playing songs for me, he also discussed why he still works at the age of 75. He said because he loves his job and because he is treated well by his employers!!! The key message is treat your colleagues well so that they can continue to be passionate about their job. #inspiration@theritzlondon#lookaftereachother#passion#pianist#amazingday#london#finedining
We are the BreadBeard Friday massive. We are hot and ready to rock!
Hope you have had a fabulous week being loved and loving others. Have a great weekend whatever you get up to.
Hands up who else sometimes gets emotionally for no apparent reason?
It's okay to feel. Whether it's ppd, work or life anxieties, big or little stresses it's totally OKAY.
Be there for each other and remember telling someone you are there for them and a huge hug can make a huge difference.
you know the drill, on wednesdays we wear pink. also, screw toxic masculinity. 👊🏼 (sidenote: long caption ahead on mental health awareness)
now that i have your attention with this monochromatic number, i wanted to share something personal, away from the usual filtered images and seemingly always happy personas we share on social media. remember to take socmed with a grain of salt. majority only share a glimpse of their lives and only post the highlights online. we don’t see everything, including the struggles people might be going through.
in my case, i’ve been on hiatus from social media several times before due to a number of reasons, from family, friends, school, to career. it got worse a few years ago to the point when i didn’t post anything on IG for 6 months. as a digital content creator who uses social media as a vital part of the job, that’s a big deal and inevitably resulted to a lot of loss opportunities. but previously having been on a social media detox did well for my mental health, which is what matters most at the end of the day. it’s still a work in progress, but i’m grateful i’m in a better headspace today compared to a year or so ago. i do hope more people will speak up about mental health and help end the stigma around the topic, instead of just leaving it as a taboo subject, unspoken of and unaddressed in today’s society.
last october 6-12 was mental health awareness week, so here’s a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay. showing vulnerability is not weakness. everyone has their own silent battles. check up on your friends especially those who look happy with all smiles all the time, and the strong ones who choose to fight their battles alone. be there for them too. if you’re still reading at this point, i wanted to let you know you’re not alone. you are loved, you are valued, and you are enough. for those of you going through something similar, do not be afraid to seek for help. talk to someone close to you or leave me a direct message on my profile here when you need to chat. let’s make this a safe space for everyone. help each other out. be kind to one another, always. 💛
I ain't well.
My hands hurt and I can't do more than about half a row at a time, when usually I would be charging through this. I split for front and back day before yesterday, so I'd usually expect to be casting off the back today.
Oh well, it is only a cold, and I can expect to feel better in a few days. My heart goes out to anyone who is suffering from more serious things that get in the way of the things they want to do. I am grateful to have a cold and nothing more.
Said goodbye to this beautiful soul yesterday! So many people turned up to share how much he was loved. The guy leading the service spoke about how people have a year of birth, then a dash, and the year of death. It's what you do with the dash that counts. Let's just all be nicer people, no-one truly knows what someone else is going through, so be kind to each other. And look out for each other, ask how someone is, give them the opportunity to talk. Ask for help if you need it. Life is too short, dont fill it with unkindness. Do a good thing every day and look after each other! #bekind#makeyourdashcount#spreadkindness#lookaftereachother#talk#maketheworldnicer#restpeacefully#mentalhealthawareness#mind
ANOTHER donation for baby loss awareness week ...❤️
Every CONCHUS bar is trimmed slightly by hand, and this creates lots of trimmings ☺️
We couldn’t waste these, so we developed our beautiful HUG bars, and donate them to charities and organisations who support people in need ❤️
This means that every time you buy a bar from us, little pieces of your bar (HUGS), are added and shared directly to people who need a HUG in life 🤗
This batch of beautiful HUG bars are going to an amazing charity for Baby Loss Awareness Week #blaw2019 ❤️
I have two young children, and child loss is something that is unbearable for me to imagine.
From talking to people who have experienced child loss, learning to accept and love your body again is difficult, so I think our HUG Bars will be perfect for this healing journey ❤️
These HUG Bars are being shared with Aching Arms @achingarmsuk which is run by a group of bereaved mothers who have experienced the pain and emptiness of leaving hospital without their baby.
One of the many amazing things they do at @achingarmsuk is provide a comfort bear for parents to hold, to let them know they’re not alone, and it directs them to support agencies.
I’ve sent them a double batch of HUG Bars that will be available alongside their comfort bears at hospitals they support ❤️
Our HUG bars are PACKED with a HUG from every single one of you, every customer who has invested in us at CONCHUS, so that we can support and invest that in others ❤️
Thank you Aching Arms @achingarmsuk for the amazing and overwhelmingly valuable support you offer people ❤️
And thank you to all of our customers ❤️ You make this possible xxx
✨🕯 Take part in a wave of light event Today, 15th October - more details @babyloss 🕯✨

Reposted from @fuzzyfellarides (@get_regrann) - This weekend has shown me that riding 200km against the clock around Wales is now beyond me. It is time to hang up my competitive pedals so to speak. I have had a lovely time and riding/pushing/carrying through this scenery is truly a privilege. Thank you Wales, you are amazing.

Who would of ever thought when I was at my lowest trying my best to help my hubby recover from his illness by my own blends of essential oils, that it would end up like this?
Just got to say a HUGE THANKYOU!
Please know we appreciate all you amazing feedback on how our products are helping you and your families too, many of your DM’s and emails have me in tears, could I still encourage you to upload these to our website, we still read them there and they are a source of inspiration to us and so helpful for prospective new Lock & Latch customers to make informed decisions about which products to choose.
Thank you again

The one reason I share my battle with mental health so blatantly and unapologetically with anyone who wants to listen is this^^^^
Since I was 16 I’ve been up and down more times than I can count and I continuously struggle to make sense of the negative stance my mind takes. I have to remind myself every day that this didn’t start with me and some of the experiences I’ve had have led to my low sense of self. Slowly but surely I’m developing coping mechanisms and I’ve got a support network that I cannot fault. I’m learning to be kinder to myself and that’s something I think we all need a bit more of.
One thing I have noticed is over the years of being more and more open about my mental health, is that some of my friends are now sharing with me their own experiences which I think is so important.
If anyone needs someone to listen then I’m all ears because talking is half of the route to coping ❣️ #mentalhealthawareness#mentalhealth#mentalwellbeing#mentalwellness#wellness#wellbeing#bekind#lookafteryourhealth#lookaftereachother#checkonyourfriends#survivor#mentalhealthblogger#selfcare
So so so unbelievably proud of my beautiful niece for this brave, honest and articulate post 🙌🙌Repost from @emilyleighhx Don’t usually post anything like this but I did a thing and thought it was necessary🤷♀️ can’t lie, this is terrifying to post and not sure how many will read the whole way through but mental health awareness is something that means so much to me. Enjoy x
