👉🏻 "Ever notice that when somebody yawns, other people may follow suit? Contagious yawning, thought to be a sign of empathy, affects humans, baboons, chimps, and yes, dogs. But as research published in Animal Cognition suggests, young canines aren't susceptible to catching yawns from birth. In the 2012 study, Swedish researchers took a group of 35 dogs between 4 and 14 months old on closely monitored play dates, feigning yawns in front of each individual animal. Dogs that were less than 7 months old didn't react, yet many of the older dogs would respond with a yawn of their own. This pattern mirrors what happens with humans—children don't pick up the habit of contagious yawning until around age 4, when they start to develop social skills like empathy. These results suggest that dogs, too, may develop empathy over the course of their puppyhood." - Mark Mancini

When you wake up at 4:30 am to go potty then lay back down to go back to sleep and hear your lil Freckle Butt Fred whiny while dreaming makes for a great start to a Tuesday. I sure love this little sweetheart so much.
Our morning routine my alarm goes off I get up...make coffee...wake Dylan...go potty...let the dogs out...leave the front door open Fred comes out to go potty in the box on the deck...then Charlie always comes to say hi to me and Fred...back in the house for potty treats for Fred, Thunder, and Jackson. I sure love all my "dogs" 🤣 Fred is so much like one of the dogs. ❤Momma Paparazzi (MP)
