I en hektisk hverdag må man gripe alle mulighetene som dukker opp. De siste tre dagene har jeg plutselig hatt masse tid til rådighet både før og etter jobb. Uvant å være alene uten mann og barn, men utrolig digg med litt alenetid hvis det er lov å si. Tre dager og 7 økter, totalt 50km (og denne dagen er heldigvis ikke over ennå!🤩) Gud bedre, så utrolig motivert om dagen🙏. Jeg har til og med løpt på morgenen to dager på rappen. Det er helt crazymaddafakka for et B-menneske som meg😂 
Nå savner jeg gjengen min og gleder meg til de kommer hjem i morgen. Da blir det familiekos resten av påsken💛 (Forhåpentligvis blir det litt løpetid mellom slagene også😄). .
Endelig min tur til å ta påskeferie!🤩.

  • Boston, you are a BEAST!!! Damn!!! SO much to say about this race, the course, the weather, my performance....but for now I’m just going to celebrate. Today was a 28 minute course PR and I’m damn proud of that. Congratulations to everyone who ran today. We are Boston Marathoners!! Cheers!!!

It can be easy to compare ourselves against others by distance and time as we are surrounded by social media, GPS watches and Strava, but the truth is none of that matters - “If you run, you are a runner. It doesn’t matter how far or how fast!” 👌🏼😀

1.  Did a nice easy pace down to the park where she pushed me to get a pull-up session done!

2.  Stopped by the tennis courts to get some water.

I know she cares about the environment because she picked up 2 pieces of trash from the ground and threw them in the nearest trash receptacle!  What a girl!

And to top it off I even got a cute thank-you card for finding her a bib to run this past weekend’s Hapalua half-marathon!

A second year of winter running is now in full swing.  Where y'all at Perth?! 💁‍♀️

With 80 mins to go it bucketed down, and I stopped the garmin to put on my non- water proof rain coat. 🤦‍♀️😆 If you stop the watch, I figure it is on you to make up the time so when  2 hours finally rolled by on my watch we were 27 km in on @juannguyenrunning. At this point it just made perfect sense to finish at 30 k 💁‍♀️😆🤯

My body is generally feeling stronger this week after being quite fatigued the last. That hip pain comes and goes and seems to settle with recovery and loading rehab but is certainly a little aggravated after a workout and long run. Time to hit that foam roller. .

Absolutely stoked to get that one under my belt today before the easter celebrations kick off.

  • BOSTON was the HARDEST, yet most REWARDING marathon I’ve ever run!!! All the hard work and training that went into running the Boston Marathon was all worth it, even though my goals quickly went out the window by mile 9. 
Of course, I read all the blogs before getting to the start line, so I thought I knew what to expect. Boy was I wrong.  I had three goals going into Boston: A- BQ at Boston, B- sub 4 hour and C- enjoy the experience and finish with a smile. Needless to say, I accomplished my C goal which I am very proud of. 
Marathons are just HARD, period!! And I am envious of those who can run at a fast pace so effortlessly the entire race. Sometimes everything goes as planned and others it takes everything you’ve got to fight to the finish. Today was a fight both mentally and physically.  But I never gave up and crossed the finishline of the Boston freaking Marathon!!! 🙏🦄💙🙏💛 While I didn’t reach my goals for this race, I still feel like I gave it my all and finished strong...Boston Strong 💪💙💛 It was amazing, yet so hard!!! Loved the experience even though it was my slowest marathon. The crowds were spectacular and really helped my spirits in my low times. So happy and proud to check it off my list 🦄✅

  • Sweaty recovery run!!! Couple layers to make sure I got some sparkles, but when I got home it looked like I jumped in the pool, over dressed!!! Keep at it!!!

  • 4.5 tonight. My legs are still sore from a lower body workout I put myself through on Monday night, so I thought my pace would be terrible but it wasn't! Also, my apple tree FINALLY has some bitty buds popping up. Maybe we'll see flowers this year after all.

  • What happens when you get sidelined? ⏭ a lot of times, it’s the ~nothing left to lose~ attitude. 💎🦋 For me, it looks like this: 🧩I started staying up later and getting less sleep because running is what I live for, so what else would I need to sleep for? 🧩 I took less care to keep myself hydrated, and I started caring less about the nutritional value of my food 🧩 my concentration and quick thinking abilities went downhill as a result 🧩 I allowed myself to develop unhealthy patterns around food. Engaging in this behavior made me feel 10x worse, so I continued the behavior to avoid those feelings (a vicious cycle) 🧩 I laser-focused on keeping my room clean, because I wanted to have something I could actively control. 🧩 I allowed myself to live in the past, which only made me more dissatisfied with my current situation 🧩 
I did all this, I still do all this, and it’s stupid and selfish. And entirely unnecessary! If you are currently being held back from the thing you love the most, know that you still have plenty of things to be grateful for. You have LOTS to lose— give up the all-or-nothing gig. Focus on the things you appreciate, and your time in recovery (or whatever it may be) will go by much faster. 🙂

You can’t tell by this picture but today started off bleak. Dark skies, thunderstorms, so much rain. But the day ended up being beautiful!  Maybe a little windy but I am not complaining. 🤗
