“Like any other kid, I didn't like anyone telling me what to do. I used to hate it when my parents wouldn't let me go out with my friends or asked me to study when I felt like playing music instead. All of this made me yearn for freedom even more. But, as the years passed, I realized that it wasn't really because of my family or others that I felt like breaking free. It was actually because of me, my fears. I was afraid to take chances and to let everyone around me down. I remember telling my dadu and dadi all the time that I wanted to be a singer one day. Taking a leap of faith, I started writing songs sometime back and uploaded them on a few streaming platforms. And the response was amazing! When I tell them both about the feedback I get, they bless me to keep growing. It encourages me to work harder and I haven't looked back since. For me, freedom is living peacefully and listening to music with the people you love. I now realize why my parents were so protective of me. My father doesn't say or express much about my decision of pursuing my dreams, but when I see him smile, I know he’s proud of me. And I hope to make him prouder with every day that passes."
I never truly understood branding in the first 10 years of running an online business. It's only been in the last 3 years that it now makes sense and the easiest way I can explain it to you is this...
Your brand is your reputation and your reputation is your brand. Least that's how I see it.
Your brand, just like your reputation can take years to build and moments to destroy.
Try to remember this phrase when the devil taps you on the shoulder and waves money at you. Ask yourself is it worth it? Is that amount of money worth risking everything you've built? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I turned down a client earlier in the year that would have brought in the multi 5 figures plus an opportunity to collaborate worth who knows?!
Why? Because the association with that person was not worth the risk to my brand or reputation. Ever.
It's not the first time I've turned down an "opportunity" like that and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. I've said many times that if it doesn't feel right deep down, it usually isn't right. Learning to trust your intuition in my opinion is what builds incredible brands that people come to love, trust and come back to time and time again.
My intuition literally runs my business and I'm happy to give it the reins.
Working with your intuition rather than against it is most definitely something we cover during Money Making Messenger my 6 months VIP AF mentorship. It's where your badass brand building magic comes from after all 🖤
My entire life, people have cast judgement on me before they’ve had the pleasure of meeting me. Maybe they take one look at me and immediately make an assumption, maybe they hear someone say they had a bad interaction with me so they think theirs will be the same, or maybe they listen to someone else talk shit about me and accept it as the truth. I’ve had more people than I can count approach me at some point and say something like, “I’m glad I took the time to get to know you. I heard all these bad things about you so I didn’t think I was going to like you, but you surprised me.” I would think to myself, “Thank you, I guess.” 🤷🏼♀️
No, I’m most definitely not everyone’s cup of tea and I’m very aware of that. But I’d much rather you come to your own conclusion that you hate my guts instead of listening to what someone else says about me and then taking their word for it.
Because of my experience, I promised myself that I was going to give people an opportunity to show me who they really are and not allow the opinions of others to cloud my judgement. Sometimes I get burned and sometimes I don’t! But at least it comes from my own personal experience.
Who else has has had this happen to them?

EP66: How To Be A 6 Figure Business Owner
You might have heard me say before that if you want something, if you desire to achieve something, then you need to start BEING that person, that future version of yourself right now. You need to think those thoughts and feel those feelings so that you can take action as that future version of you and when you do that? You manifest those desires with often crazy magical feeling speed and ease. What's not to like about that?
So with that in mind, on today's show, I want to talk about BEING a six-figure business owner. I am sharing with you 5 things you can start doing TODAY to start being that six-figure business-owning version of yourself. These are all things I do now, as a six-figure business owner but also things that I was doing before I reached that milestone and which were instrumental in getting me there.
If you're ready to let go of the idea that if you could just find that one winning strategy THEN you'll hit that six - or even seven-figure mark - and instead learn how you can start to be a six-figure business owner, right here, right now, then let's do this!
Were you rewarded in school with a 'merit' sticker or badge system? I remember living for these rewards, I would be pleased as punch, everytime I received one🌟😂😂😂 I wonder how these childhood reward initiatives impact our subconscious mind ongoing? 💭
In society, we often look to others for praise and validation (which isn't always a bad thing) but the "real tea" is your own view of yourself should be paramount ✔
Don't wait for someone to celebrate your gifts and shout about your good-doing, you do not need endless approval. Work on your own self concept.
The final result will equal = a more confident, self-sufficient you. 😊
Balance is my theme this week - on and off the mat. I wrote a blog post about it here https://www.myogi.co.uk/news but it only really scratches the surface of the nuances involved in ithis group of asanas...
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence~
El optimismo es la fé que dirige al éxito. No se puede hacer nada sin esperanza ni confianza~

What is ritual routine?
This meaning waking up and asking myself where, how and when I want to enjoy my morning cup of joe. It’s savouring the smell of coffee brewing, going and picking a special mug to enjoy my morning beverage. It’s taking a moment to pause to be grateful for this simple act of love when starting my day. Sometimes it’s in bed, before my morning practice, while I work and this morning it is looking into the magnificence of the 🌌 while soaking in the hot 🛁.
The truth is I have a full day and I can choose to be overwhelmed by it or pause, take time for me, set my intention and carry on with my day ground and cantered. This often means getting up before sunrise and I’m grateful for these quiet mornings to reflect and check in.
Soul Goals is this Saturday! If your looking for more ritual routine join us 10-12pm @sevayogaco#soulgoals#livingintentional#theartofasking#tunein#knowyourself#soulful#levelup#makeyourownrules

I see myself as a true modernist
Even when I do a traditional gown, I give it a modern twist

I find there is a romanticised notion that if we choose to run our own business we "SHOULD" be wholeheartedly fulfilled. I disagree. We don't expect employment to fulfil us 100%, so why should being self employed be any different?!
Motivations to "work for yourself" vary greatly, but for me it is about control, stability and freedom. However, I don't always feel fulfilled. Is that a bad thing?
No. For me I see my working life as a 2 phase journey. Phase 1, achieve the stability and financial freedom i desire for my family for the long term. Phase 2, do what satisfies my soul. I left teaching a year ago, and my old form wrote me a letter...it's motivated me to work even harder to achieve my property goals ASAP...
Does your business fully fulfil you? How do you balance fulfilment and work goals? Or are the 2 intertwined? Is loving what you do the same as being fulfilled?
Have you read my new blog yet? No? Well go on over to www.be-unieke.com/blog and check out the new blog. I know so many bloggers have covered this but I'm another. This uber talented lady has an exceptionally keen eye for design and brings a unique perspective to our team with her background in interior design & architecture. From textiles to textures, Clair has you covered and loves to draw people in with her ability to envision not just spaces, but overall experiences. In her free time, you can find her taking advantage of all that Atlanta has to offer or discovering something new within the community. Plus, it wouldn't be true Event Sociétal style without a mention of her four-legged best friend, Matisse (see a pattern here with us?) Clair can't wait to connect with you!
Do you ever take a bite of something and it reminds you of that time you ate something similar years ago and then you’re transported back in time to every single thing like that that you’ve ever eaten in your entire life?
Yeah, that happened to me today when I ate this Reuben. 🤯 And New Order and Pet Shop Boys were playing in the background. And the woman who made my sandwich remembered me. And she gave me a free muffin too. It was a very pleasant lunch time experience. lol
I thought of Stoney’s in DC where @cycleboredom introduced me to a greasy goodness version of this! Bob & Edith’s on Columbia Pike, probably also w @cycleboredom... Katz deli in NYC w Mary Anne. And then I even went way back to my dad’s obsession with corned beef and pastrami. I was deep in food memory lane eating that sandwich. 😂
This edition of self care Monday began with donuts from @gocodough and continued with art and education at The Reach at the Kennedy Center. I gotta watch the rest of America to Me! After this yummy sammy on onion dill rye, I had a massage with the amazing @alongstory_short of @arcticva. And then my day was over. 🤣 Just woke up from a two hour nap. I guess my body needed to rest. And of course I ate a lot of carbs today. DON’T YOU WORRY... While I did try a bite of every donut, I did not eat all six. 😜
So while it’s a slow biz week, I’ve learned never to fret. The universe has got my back. Yummy dinners are coming my way this week. Hydration will be important to avoid salt bombing. It’s the one thing I really need to be careful of when eating out. Salt can be a trigger for vertigo for me.
What’s ahead for you? 😁 I also see more veggies headed to my belly. I tend to find my balance of nutrients from day to day rather than throughout the day. I’ll be observing this more and making changes from week to week as I see what works best for me! Have a great week guys! 💙

When you get a new tool box, you take it every where even where the dinosaurs walked!
Casual vibe this Monday.
Wearing white shoes after Labor Day because
a) we live in Florida where it’s warm year round and
b) that’s some antiquated fashion advise🙅🏽♀️
Just wear what makes you feel good✌🏼✨

👋🏼 Hi, my name is Cara and I am a recovering rule-follower. Don’t worry, I’m not doing anything TOO illegal. But seriously, one of the greatest freedoms I have found for myself in the past few years has been to stop saying “never.” .
Although I have always been independent and more free-spirited at my core, my fears of letting others down and failing have dominated my true desire for spontaneous adventure. I didn’t want to let my parents down as a child so I tried to follow every rule in school, at home, and out in the world. Failing others’ expectations was also not an option. Looking back, I’ve realized how much exploration I missed and how many opportunities to find out more about myself I didn’t even consider. Don’t get me wrong. Rules can be good as they can provide safety and set you up for better success in some areas of life. Rules also limit you. Because of “rules,” I’ve told myself so many “nevers.” I told myself I could never do or say things because of the fears of failing others’ expectations. There have been things that I have come to really enjoy because I finally let my spontaneous, adventurous soul just do things. Face fears, evolve, learn new hobbies, challenge your views, take adrenaline-pumping opportunities, be okay with risks. Keep some safety in mind but stop saying “never.” “Never” doesn’t help us grow or change us into more well-rounded, better-understanding people. #neversaynever#neversayneveragain#rulefollower
RULES GO AGAINST THE VERY NATURE OF BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR AND WHAT ALLOWS A BUSINESS TO THRIVE.⠀
New ideas. Insights. Testing. Innovation. Imagination. Creative problem-solving. Dreaming big. Smashing income and belief ceilings. None of these come from obediently following someone else’s rules.⠀
If we take a look at the most successful businesses and entrepreneurs, they didn’t create success by following the rules, but rather by creating their own.⠀
Sure, there are some foundational elements to business that are just smart and work. And, yes, strategy is important and helpful in business. But, I find so many of us confuse strategy for rules, and they’re not the same thing.⠀
When we collapse strategy and rules together, they stop serving us, and tend to make us feel boxed in.
Rules are confining and limiting.
This collapse causes us to stop testing, tweaking, and adapting.
This is when we get stuck inside self-imposed mindset, impact, and income ceilings.⠀
Rules are also absolute. And, they tend to imply punishment if we don’t follow them.⠀
We create rules to make sense of the world and feel orderly. They make us feel safe because we know what to expect. Rules give us a sense of comfort.
So, it makes sense most of us strive to follow the rules. Society has taught us to do so. We’ve attached our sense of safety to following the rules.
And, for some of us, following the rules is what our brain equates with avoiding pain, which we’re wired to do early and often.
But, rules aren’t strategy. And, more often than not, as entrepreneurs and thought leaders, the very constructs we confine ourselves to feel safe are the same things that will keep us stuck, hold us back, and in some cases, keep us from the very success, impact, and income we crave.
This is about more than strategy. It’s about the necessity as business owners to get out of rule-think and into creation.
It’s about the mindset that comes from having the confidence to discard someone else’s rules and the power we create when we make our own.
This is the mindset that allows us to leverage our strategy and is another way we stop hiding in plain sight (and get paid). XO, Kim
Do you find yourself saying the words “I’m busy” daily?
Do you yearn for something a little “MORE” than that? Something of your OWN?
If so. I want your help.
YOU...Thats right, I want you!
I know in your head you are thinking...
“It’s just not for me”
(Yet - How do you KNOW? 🤷♀️)
“I can’t follow workout videos at home (or in a gym) I get to distracted”
(Did you get distracted when the new episode of HANDMAIDS TALE came out?)
“Im so bad at making commitments”
(You make it to your job(s) everyday don’t you?)
“I don’t have money right now”
(That’s not what you said to your hair dresser...or bartender 😇)
“I’m not really a shake person”
(Drink it for 30 days and try saying that sentence again! I dare ya! Or I’ll give you your money back 💯)
“I don’t have the time”
(No you don’t, I don’t either...you MAKE it😘)
You guys...I share this community...these programs...these products...this opportunity...this incredible movement with you all because it has completely changed my entire world, and it can do the same for you...if you are open to it!
Because why the eff NOT you? If I can do this. If WE can do this. Then So. Can. You!!
I happened to change my life by signing up in AUGUST of 2013. Best decision I’ve EVER made. It changed the entire trajectory forever for the better - so I happen to think that RIGHT NOW is the best time to #SayYes to change and #SayNo to those fears and limits that have been ruling your choices and happiness for far. Too. Damn. Long!
