  • Eating healthy doesn’t have to taste like a meal your toddler might make you. I promise. Listen, I’m the most BORING, BASIC, and only-make-it-if-its-QUICK-and-EASY eater around. I don’t magically have more time to meal prep than you, I strongly dislike meal prepping like most of you, I don’t crave veggies, I don’t prefer salads over a burger.

I really didn’t fully grasp how easy eating for MY BODY was until I couldn’t workout postpartum with Sadie and had to go 100% into my nutrition for a few months. What works for other people might not work for you, but you have to be willing to TRY things and LISTEN to how your body reacts OVER TIME.

Here are a few things I’ve found to help me in a crazy busy season and trying to stay on track:
.
-Find a few super quick go to meals. For me these are bagged riced cauliflower/riced veggies I can steam and throw anything on top from eggs to shredded chicken to liquid aminos and its done in minutes.
-Find a few good swaps for heavy carbs at night, for me this is cauliflower subs like mashed cauliflour, riced cauliflour, etc., sweet potatoes, zoodles and spaghetti squash.
-Make a few go-to grabs you can use in many meals during the week to “meal prep” instead of making 500 meals at once on sunday over 8  hours you don’t have. For me this is an instant pot of shredded chicken, some cooked ground beef or turkey, and maybe pre chopping my sweet potatoes/veggies or overnight oats.

What is your biggest hang up when it comes to nutrition?

I’m always running around so when it’s lunchtime I usually can’t be bothered so it’s peanut butter sandwiches or dip and crackers. If I had guests I would make them something nice to eat so why am I not worth the effort? It’s time to make time for ourselves!

  • When did you stop doing the things that give you massive pleasure?

Does it seem like you 'gave up' your weekly self-love dates with your face mask and art journal, so that you could spend that time on a date with your lover instead?

Those solo excursions were acceptable because you were single back then and you figure there's no reason for them now?

Even though the idea of riding solo for an afternoon, would still invoke a state of pleasure for you? ........... When it comes to being in a relationship, it's important to feel that your passions are something that you can continue to pursue and indulge in - if not together, at least as an individual you can.

We can get so caught up in being infatuated with each other early on, that our natural inclinations and interests may get lost along the way.

We get caught up in the 'love net'. .............. Here's a reminder to re-ignite your passions and make time for what brings you pleasure - leaving guilt out of the picture.

This is exactly what you need to do for yourself before any of the tension releases between you and your partner.

If its been awhile since you last did the things you're wildly passionate about, you may find it helpful to reflect on what still interests you, how your tastes/preferences may have changed and what new things may excite and entice you.

You are going to experience pleasure more often by pursuing your passions and doing the things you love.

Stress will dissolve.

The pressure eases.

Stagnation will begin to shift.

Love can flow naturally! ................ Don't just take my word for it though.

Listen to what Anodea Judith writes in her book The Wheels Of Life... "Pleasure helps the mind and body establish better communication. Through pleasure we relax and release tension. Impulses then flow freely......, without fear of suppression. Gradually these impulses create rhythmic, coherent patterns soothing to the whole nervous system." There's no better way to invoke the feelings you want to feel!

Left. M e d i t a t i o n 🧘🏻‍♀️ for a number of reasons! The main one being that it is sooo easy for us to get stuck in the same story of our lives continuously looping the same stresses/ daily anxieties and it’s beautiful to give our mind some rest from time to time. Another brilliant thing about calming your mind is it clears the pathway for your divine guidance to come through for you. So, chances are you’re looking for some answers somewhere if you’ve picked number 1, and meditation can answer it for you 👁

Middle. A card about relationships can mean lots of different things, but tonight I feel guided to talk about the relationship you have with yourself and the world around you. Just like a domino effect, if you’re waking up daily anticipating/ focusing on the negative and the stresses, that’s exactly what you will come to expect. It’s like telling the universe “yes, this is what I want please and thank you” because you’re thinking it into reality. Imagine waking up every day being thankful that you opened your eyes to see another day, being thankful for all the beautiful gifts of friends, favourite cousins, family pets, clean water and nutritious food. Imagine waking up a little earlier so you can enjoy your morning brew staring at the sun emerging from the other side of the world 🗺. Nothing is better than waking up and actually being genuinely grateful and content with the precious gems you all have in your life. A healthy mindset creates healthy habits 🤗

Right. On the topic of healthy mindsets, just in case you forgot, you have the power to create any life you choose. Read that again and again until it sinks in to your mind.
If you aren’t happy with your job, living circumstances, or social circle, the only thing holding you back from changing it is fear. Money can be made in any job, friends come and go, shared accomodation is growing more and more popular in our ever growing world 🌍 you’re not going to lay on your death caring about what anyone thought of you, you’re only going to wish you had made the right changes for your life sooner ❤️

  • I’m totally guilty of this mentally. I often want to just throw the towel in when things get busy and overwhelming, because I never actually take time to just rest and ‘turn off’ for a moment or two. 
Resting is so important for the mind and soul. And eating isn’t just sleeping. It’s mindful recharging - doing something for you and listening to what your body and mind need.

  • Attention teacher friends!! I know summer brings us time to relax and reenergize ourselves.  Once school starts up again, I find it difficult to make time for self care!! Anybody else struggle with that?? This year I am making a change and I would love for you to join me!! I am going to be running a self care accountability group!! In the group we will learn simple ways to show ourselves a little love so we don’t get overwhelmed!!   • For some the word 'meditation' conjures up images of toga clad yogis in lotus position peacefully omm'ing away. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
BUT meditation embraces SO much more and can be done in pj's or jeans. In a horizontal position. Or standing up. Or walking. There are lots of beautiful traditions and practises but no rulebook exists, so we might as well make up our own framework based on what feels good and inspiring and fit our life.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Meditation has been proven to have significant benefits for our health and mental wellbeing. It can be used to settle the mind, find stillness, release stress and tension, gain insight, alter our state and so much more. It's really worthwhile getting/being curious about. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
A novice dipping my toes in new waters, is what I am. Playing with ideas and concepts for myself and the sessions I host and it stretches me big time to share it with a wider audience and open myself up to feedback. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Today I published my 4th recording, a gentle visualisation meditation using the ocean as a metaphor for life. If you like beaches and oceans and calm and stillness, you are most welcome to dip your meditation toes with me. Flippers or slippers are completely optional. The youtube link is in my bio.   • When you meet someone and you just know you have an unbreakable bond and how quickly it happened.

@emma_jayne_jsy and I work in the same office and months ago we started chatting about my getting healthy journey and what I was doing. 
I invited Emma to join me in doing the at home workouts I love so much 
Initially Emma said no thanks for now as she had just committed to a local gym that ended up costing loads of money that did not leave her feeling happy or fulfilled at the end of her block of sessions 
We met for coffee again one lunch time and I talked about how easy the eating system I was following was to fit in around a busy lifestyle.

I also showed Emma the exercise system that I use and how versatile and easy it was to follow.

This time Emma didn’t hesitate to take up my offer to join me and now loves her early morning 25 minute high intensity workouts and her simple to follow nutrition system 
We now have added in some cardio sessions to our routines and because of our at home workouts we feel fitter than ever.

This way of getting ourselves healthy and feeling stronger is something that anyone with a busy lifestyle will enjoy

is time where your brain has an opportunity to organise your thoughts.  Creating a soft, compassionate framework around silence can spark all sorts of magic. ⁠⠀

I am off to run a private meditation/relaxation session tonight and have packed my kit to enhance the quality of silence that fall between the words I speak. Soft linen blankets, lavender oil, 'in harmony' scent and summer berries. Nourishment for the senses. And a 'script' inviting all the participants to let their minds and body soften deeply and linger in the space where all their wisest thoughts live. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀

With its beautifully curved bezel and colourful gas tubes, the different colours allow wearers to easily read the time of 3 individual time zones at a quick glance. Even without ambient light.
