  • I have a strong feeling that Jolee is never going to want to leave when I introduce her to this magical place!
Have you ever been to a primary rainforest? Not a secondary rainforest, a PRIMARY rainforest. You know, like the ones portrayed in movies like the jungle book and Tarzan. A rainforest which is mostly untouched by man. With so many shades of deep, lush green you could start your own color spectrum, with huge trees, a cavernous canopy and vines hanging from massive branches. I have and I believe everyone should experience one sometime in their lives. It’s nothing I could give justice to in words on a social media post. You just have to go there to experience it for yourself. .
Imagine a place with deserted honey colored beaches as far as the eye can see and wildlife that can be found nowhere else on earth. A place where you can explore the jungle and think “I wonder if anyone else has ever set foot here?” And there is actually a possibility that the answer might be no. That place is Masoala National Park. One of the last remaining untouched places on the planet!
.
To give you an idea of how pristine and pure this area in the world is . . . In 2017, only 3,600 people visited Masoala National Park, in 2017, an astounding 4,479,242 visited Yosemite National Park. You know how you feel so at peace and undisturbed while in Yosemite? Just try to imagine how you’d feel in Masoala National Park? .
I’ve hesitated for a long time to share too much about how incredible this place is because I am afraid of what humans will do to it if everyone starts to visit BUT I know how much I hate it when people keep beautiful places a secret and I also know how hard it is to get there and how expensive it can be, so I pray that the people who put out the effort and financial resources to arrive there will have a great level of respect for the land and all of its inhabitants. .
That being said, I still have room on my Madagascar trip next July/August 2020. It is a very small group and I only have 2 rooms left. Does one of them have your name on it? Do you want to be one of the few to reach this magical land?

  • Do any of you have chameleons? It is about time that I introduce you guys to Visenya. She is my female panther chameleon, and she is an Ambilobe x Masoala hybrid. She hates me. 🙂 Everytime I LOOK at her, she puffs up and tries to bite. She is very peachy orange and SO pretty!
