#Tagore believed that #Western#art was " #materialistic " in character, and that India needed to return to its own traditions to recover #spiritual values. Despite its #Indocentric nationalism, this view was already commonplace within #British art of the time, stemming from the ideas of the Pre-Raphaelites. Tagore's work also shows the influence of Whistler's Aestheticism. Partly for this reason many British arts administrators were sympathetic to such ideas, especially as #Hindu#philosophy was becoming increasingly influential in the West following the spread of the #Theosophy movement. Tagore believed that #Indian traditions could be adapted to express these new values, and to promote a progressive Indian national #culture .

#QuoteoftheDay 'Let it be God as your only destination.' - His Holiness Younus AlGohar
New car 🚘 'New', I would neverrrr buy a new car cause that's a waste of money in my opinion. You ride out of the garage and your car allready lost 21% of it's value. I bought this beautiful car second hand! I also wouldn't have bought it if my old car was still perfectly fine (it wasn't). I am not really a materialistic person 😊 But I'm still proud I could affort this Dorine-Mobile! #mercedes#mercedesbenzme#aklasse#newcar#materialistic#entrepreneur#selfemployed#independantwoman
We live in a ridiculously materialistic world. Where everything is about STUFF. It’s all want want want or “need”. .
Social media is great for feeding our ego and starving our wallet. Sponsored ads pop up about flash fancy gym apparel or the latest gadget. I’ll hold my hands up and say I got sucked in to it and at times I still do but I rarely buy this STUFF. .
Sure I could look super fly in the latest @gymshark or @Nike clothes in the gym. Or I could have the nicest furniture in my house. But at the end of the day as humans we forget what’s really important. When we are gone all that “stuff” is just left. Put in to bin liners and charity shops and no1 will GAF! .
I’m frugal with my money because I’d rather spend it on travel. On experiences. On filling my heart with memories and not my house with things. Getting out of my comfort zone and exploring this beautiful globe we are blessed to be living on that we are rapidly killing because we are a selfish materialistic species. .
Spend your money wisely. Use it to help others. Travel. LIVE. Create memories. Help this planet by being more eco friendly. .
Leave this life as a treasured soul not as forgotten trinkets. 💚💙💛
If you are buying things for yourself, a car you personally love driving, a show you love the way it feels and looks, a home, a piece of jewelry ect .. it’s amazing and enjoy but pls pls pls be aware that an extraordinary amount of “stuff” is bought to impress people you don’t even like or to hide your insecurities and “show” people you’ve made it or are someone!
When people start using money to create more happiness instead of masking unhappiness, things will get a lot better and happier.
