it's been awfully quiet around here as I've spent the last six (?) weeks completing the Anna dress for a dear friend's wedding last weekend. 💕 there's a reason this pattern is so beloved! full sewing deets (and photos) are now on my blog 👉 stitchinginspace.com
Major progress made over the last couple of days which is great because this needs to be finished tonight! 😅😬😂
The zip is in and I have the back seam allowance to finish as well as level off and hem the skirt. Even though the process has been RUSHED (to say the least) I am still rather happy with how it’s turning out. My only regret is cutting the skirt and bodice back on a double layer of fabric. Even though it was such a time saver, I really regret not taking the time to match the floral pattern on the fabric. No, c’est la vie! 🤷🏼♀️😅 .
Swipe right to see the Hong Kong seam finish! It’s so cheery and makes me smile whenever I see it. ❤️❤️❤️
Ah! That feeling when your latest make coincides perfectly with the appearance of the sunshine! ☀️😎
I made the #AmyJumpsuit from @closetcase.patterns in the most summery of viscose fabrics.
It’s swishy and elegant and above all ridiculously comfy!!
I know what I’m going to be living in this summer!! 🤣🤣🤣
All the deets on the blog today!

The linen crop top was a sucess! 😀 Swipe to see the progress. I'm wearing the mockup and half finished top with my nearly finished dawn jeans. The only thing left is to install the button, but I'm out of copper jeans buttons. 😥 Next up is a crop top in cupro. But that will have to wait until tomorrow, now we're heading to my parents house for Easter celebration. 😊 #eastersewcation2019#påsksymester2019
Have machine, will travel...
Even on holidays my machine comes too!
A super relaxing break with awesome people. All the kids roamed free which meant loads of free time for sewing!
I highly recommend sewing outdoors too - something quite liberating about all that fresh air!

Didn’t my mother-in-law @houkesgeeske create an amazing garden room? I’m wearing my #seamworkamber made from a remnant(!) of Stenzo jersey. I had about 1.5 metres over after my last project with this fabric. I love it. Perfect sun dress, I think! I made a little cardigan to go with it (the #juliacardigan from @welcometothemousehouse made without the band).
Day 9 in Lisbon: I'm flying home today and reflecting on my handmade clothes. My Grainline Studio Archer shirt made with 4oz lightweight denim from @abakhan_liverpool has been my absolute staple for this holiday! It has been brilliant for wearing on it's own with trousers or thrown on the top of outfits as a lightweight jacket. And when @grainlinestudio tells you, "Is there such a thing as too many Archers?", you know that it's acceptable to make countless more when you get home 😉
So I made another #ddsirocco , but although I like the tapered leg of the pattern (indeed, I'm planning to further taper my first pair - if I can do it without making them look like old timey jodhpurs), for my second pair I have retreated to my wide-legged comfort zone. ·
Apart from the legs below the hip, this is the same as my previous Sirocco. I was so eager to make this pattern again immediately that I broke one of my own cardinal sewing rules when I cut this out: Never make a second version of a pattern without wearing the previous one for at least a whole day. (It's why I never batch sew - I want to try to improve the fit each time) ·
I don't know how much the different weight and drape makes, but the bodice on this one feels looser and looks blousier than my grey jumpsuit. I think maybe I should have taken out the inch I added to the bodice, or moved it to the rise instead. ·
Also, it may have helped to shorten the neck band a little, because quite often the cross-over slips open/slides down, revealing glimpses of bra. This happened in my first version too, but it seems worse in this more slippery fabric. ·
I really don't want to add a press stud or other fastening there, as the (relatively) easy on/off of this jumpsuit is one of my favourite things about the Sirocco pattern. I'll just continue to wear a cami/vest top underneath. ·
Having said all that, I do LOVE wearing this. It's elegant and fun and comfortable, and I can style it up with bright heels, or dress it down with trainers and a leather bomber jacket. ·
Pattern: the Sirocco jumpsuit from @deer_and_doe_patterns, with the legs (from bottom of pockets down) from the @closet case.patterns #Salliejumpsuit ·
Fabric: A mysterious drapey knit from @fabricanastore in Vancouver in early 2018. I think there's a viscose/rayon or modal component, and I believe it's an ITY. It's got a lovely soft peach skin feel and a good amount of stretch. It's a beautiful colour and feels great on. #fabricisthebestsouvenir #sewyourstash ·
What do you think of this Sirocco x Sallie love child? Do you feel more confident in a wider leg? · #sewtogetherforsummer

I finally made a jumpsuit I feel really comfortable in and I can see it getting a lot of wear.
Now I also want to make a long sleeved version, a dress and a top from the same pattern.
It’s made in a drapey viscose crepe and the pattern is of course the #zadiejumpsuit from @paper_theory, thank you so much for another great pattern!
Happy Passover! 💐🌸🏵️🌺
A flowery #peppermintrufflesleevetop is perfect for this holiday:) The inside of this top is so perfect, everything is finished with french seams. I'm glad I wasn't lazy and took my time with this top😍
A tale of shorts
☀️Finding shorts that fit my body shape is always been tricky so I decided to make my own last summer
☀️After quite a lot of research, I settled on the @truebias#emersonshorts pattern and... WHAT A DELIGHT of a pattern!
☀️I loooove the flattering flat front waistband and the pleats, the easy elastic band, the length... I made the low waist version.
☀️I used grey linen to wear it with any of my signature summer neon pastel colours 😉, which was a bit tricky to sew but I love how easy to wear and versatile it is.
☀️highly recommend! Worn it all summer and so happy to start wearing it again!
☀️I’m actually now making a cropped pants version ☺️. #almostthesummer#memade#sewersofinstagram#truebiaspatterns
When in a forest as magical as the Forest of Dean it seems only right to read something equally as magical 🐉 Also brought this book as it’s 850 pages so there’s no danger of running out of book to read!
What are you reading this bank holiday? Send me your recommendations so I can add them to my list!
