  • Sometimes Intuitive Eating gets watered down to “just eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full.” While Intuitive Eating does help you to identity your hunger and fullness cues, it is also more than that. It helps you make informed decisions about your eating. 💡🍏🥪🥦
.
.
In this example, the girl on the right knows that she has a meeting coming up that will take quite awhile. Even though she is currently not hungry, she knows that she will probably feel very hungry midway through her meeting and this may affect her focus. Therefore she decides to eat now instead of waiting until she is ravenously hungry after the meeting. .
.
Can you think of other situations where you might eat when you are not hungry? Share in the comments! 👇🏼

Aprender a identificar a fome física?
.
E você já reconhece sua FOME? Quer ajuda? Esteja em nosso próximo curso! Vagas abertas.

  • I eat a largely whole food plant based diet. I’m not puritanical about the whole foods bit and I do enjoy meals out, fast foods and the odd sweet from time to time because my plant based diet is an extension of my veganism rather than stemming solely from a health perspective. Health is also important to me and I mostly I eat foods that have been plucked from nature with minimum interference or processing. I adore cooking, recipe developing and getting all kinds of creative with what I eat. My favourite foods are simple and often involve minimum effort and hardly any time to whip up. This includes dhal, buddha bowls, warm salads, smoothies, granola, pancakes, guacamole, hummus, soups, creamy pasta and lots of single ingredient foods like grapes, apples, dates, nuts and seeds. I don’t eat animals and so survive and thrive on plants. My diet is varied, exciting and flavourful.

I eat what fuels me, revitalises me, heals me, manifests minimum impact on our planet and creates as little suffering to others as possible. My eating is holistic.

What we put into our bodies is important. Its an extension of our mindset. It’s a reflection of how we love ourselves. It’s a statement of our stance on our ethics, philosophies and ideologies. It’s political. It matters.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Tem alimentos bons e ruins, saudáveis e não saudáveis;

  • Hi!! 👋I don’t think I’ve ever really introduced myself here but i’ve connected with SO many of you through this platform (some of my now best friends) so I figured it’s about time I share a little more about who I am and some random facts🤷‍♀️: Getting straight down to it, I’m the type of person that thrives off soul-to-soul connections, you know the one who goes to parties to run into people and moments later know their zodiac sign, whole life story and the meaning behind their name, thats me … so cheers to connecting!
1. I’ve always been a hopeless romantic but only the ones who are close to me would truly know. I honestly think that’s why I manifested a serious relationship so early on. I romanticize everything. Life is poetic. It might be my Venus in Pisces , who knows!
2. My biggest life lesson has been: ‘You can’t help people who don’t want to be helped’. I have a natural urge/calling to help and be of service to people and so this has been a hard one to digest. I’ve come to peace with it but It’s a mindful practice.
3. I’ve always been a dreamer but lately i’ve found empowerment in being a doer and taking action. It’s taken me from hopes and wishes to real life manifestations.
4. Fear was always a huge limiting block for me as well as anxiety. I changed my mindset and it’s changed my life! Tapping into my inner strength and establishing my ‘why’ has been everything
5. During a tarot reading, the thought of ‘I am a fertilizer, my mission is to help others thrive in their personal journey’ came through and i’ve never identified with something so much. Yes, an organic fertilizer.
6. I pour my heart and soul into my coaching work. I’m all hands on deck, so yes that means I be-friend my clients and get super vulnerable. This is connection for me.
7. Ok the basics, I’m 22. Originally from Brazil, living life in Hawaii. Some labels i’ve picked up along this journey has been holistic health coach, plant based chef, and I’m currently finishing up my business degree and will be adding business coach to that list soon because I’ve been nerdy about helping women find healing and empowerment through building a brand.
Your turn,what makes you authentic?

  • Sunday moooorning. 🥰

Wat zijn jullie plannen vandaag? 🌿

  • Lately I feel I’ve been really lost for lunch ideas 🤷‍♀️ I keep having the same types of foods, but I know it’s really important to have a variety of foods in your diet! Having a variety of foods (I’m talking whole foods here) means you get in lots of different micronutrients. It’s also really important for your gut health because the more variety of foods like fruits and vegetables has been shown to increase the gut microbiome and this is often associated with a healthy gut. I used to suffer a lot from food intolerances but after I tried to eat a lot of different foods (especially whilst travelling) my digestion got lots better (this was in addition to a reduction of stress). *
*
*
So anyway, I decided to cook up some tofu, which I hadn’t had since Vietnam (they make really yummy crispy tofu in Vietnam 🤤). I marinated it in a soy, fresh ginger, hoisin and maple dressing, baked it in the oven and served with roasted sweet potato, pumpkin, tomatoes spinach and topped with Greek yoghurt and lots of coriander/herbs. (The Greek yoghurt and tofu was a really tasty combo by the way!) If you have any awesome lunch ideas that you’re loving at the moment, please let me know, I’d love to try some more things! 💕

  • Oh #melbourne. This morning you were like the perfect spring day, and by the early afternoon you became a beautifully gloomy and wet winters day. Good thing I love you so all is forgiven.
It inspired me to spend some time in the kitchen to make a heart warming, #guthealing drink, so I made some home made #almondmilk (for the record, never buying it from the store again because YUM!) and warmed it up with a simple scoop of @atpscience vanilla collagen protein and a dash of cinnamon. It is so frikken delish. Hope you are all staying warm and nourished ♥️

  • Let’s create that flow ✨⁣
⁣
Our actions in our external world can only support us so far. When we feel as if we are hitting mental blocks, feeling a little lost or disconnected to those close to us and the environment around us, we need not judge who we are or what we are doing but just check in on how we feel internally! More than half the time we are carrying past stress into new present moments, release this stress within you and open up a new way of viewing the world around you✨⁣
⁣
As I say to my clients let your choices be an authentic extension of you, don’t let your choices become you ✨ Re-wire your internal story, and see your external narrative change with you! Be kind and patient to uncovering each shinning part of you! Happy Sunday! 💭⁣

  • Jeg legger mye kjærlighet 💖inn i maten jeg lager.

.
I’m really passionate about mindfulness and food, so meeting @mattgolinski was a career highlight!
Thank-you @dietitians_association_aus 🌟 .
After all Matt’s been through, it’d be understandable if he “gave up” on life, but to the contrary, Matt lives life with passion, inspiring others along the way.
.
Matt REALLY notices the beauty in food. No matter how much time he spends cooking and working with food, each day is different, full of surprises.
.
I love the way Matt keeps it real- no wacky powders here. Rather, he suggests buying the best quality, fresh ingredients you can afford and doing the least possible to them. I couldn’t agree more.

  • Woke up with a VERY BAD HEADACHE this morning and wanted something sweet and warm. So i made oats. FIRST TIME HAVING OATS IN OVER 12 MONTHS and it was freaking delicious!! Did i feel bad eating this? Yeah i kinda did. I tried to focus on what i was eating and stopped when i felt full #mindfuleating.

Cooked in the microwave with milk and topped with macadamia nuts, sugar free maple syrup and almond butter. I missed maple syrup oats so it was very delicious and ill take this as a win today!

  • It's National Honeybee Day!!🐝❤and I almost let the day go by without honoring it.🙏🐝🙏
.
5 fun facts: 🐝Bees are responsible for 80% of pollination that occurs (So next time you're eating any fruit, tree nut, or vegetable, thank a honey bee!)
🐝honeybees never sleep
🐝Worker honeybees are all females
🐝Honeybees are the only insects that make food for humans
🐝The queen lays around 2,000 eggs per day (She can also select the gender of the larvae.)

  • Creamy Lentil Dal
.
We were house-locked all week due to a nasty Roseola type virus that wiped out our little guy and I was really glad I did some meal planning/grocery shopping early this week so I didn’t have to worry about food while caring for a sick toddler. I did text my husband on Thursday asking him to get takeout because I was NOT feeling like cooking that day.
.
I meal plan so that when things change and I’ve got no mental energy to think about food we should be eating, I can open the fridge and I have all the ingredients and recipes there that I need. 20 mins of meal planning on Sunday provides me a full week of not having to worry about what’s next on our plate. I know it doesn’t work for some and I know it’s a privilege to plan out different options. I am grateful this week that I have the opportunity to meal plan.

  • {NEW BLOG} What I wish people knew about going from dieting to intuitive eating👇🏻⠀
⠀
I wrote this blog because I often see people struggling to go from years of yo-yo dieting to a more intuitive eating practice. It can be scary to let go of dieting and challenging to learn how to listen to and trust your body. ⠀
⠀
Giving up that control of dieting can leave you feeling like, “what if I never stop obsessing about my food? What if I can’t stop binging on junk? What if I never feel good in my body?”⠀
⠀
While I included 4 main points I feel are helpful to know when going from dieting to intuitive eating in the full blog, I’ll share my favorite here: ⠀
⠀
✨ Don’t shame yourself, ever, for still wanting to lose weight. ⠀
⠀
Beating yourself up, regardless of what it’s about, never helps. Even though the first principle of intuitive eating is to reject the diet mentality, the concept of weight loss in and of itself is neither good nor bad — it is neutral. It’s when we try to lose weight from a place of self-loathing, shame, and not feeling good enough or worthy that we get in trouble. But it IS possible to accept (even LOVE) your body and still work toward weight loss. If you still want to lose weight, beating yourself up for having this desire will only perpetuate the self-loathing/guilt/shame. So give yourself the grace and self-compassion to own that you want to lose weight, and let that be okay 💛 ⠀
⠀
If you’re interested in checking out the rest of the blog, you can find it at mickiring.com/blog ☺️ ⠀
⠀
What is one thing you wish you knew or are still curious about when going from dieting to intuitive eating? ⠀

If you still want to lose weight, beating yourself up for having this desire will only perpetuate the self-loathing/guilt/shame. So give yourself the grace and self-compassion to own that you want to lose weight, and let that be okay 💛 ⠀

  • Celebrated one of the most important persons birthday yesterday and so I decided to put my skills to the test! I’m also taking a food blogging course and this made it the perfect time to come up with a recipe. I put all the ❤️ I have for my hubby into this cake and I got a pretty delicious vegan cherry cheesecake in the end. Happy 40th babe, you are undoubtedly the best thing that ever happened to me 😘 #veganinspiration #vegancheesecake #aipdiet #aiprecipes #paleoideas #birthday🎂 #celebratehealthyliving

  • Whipped up a batch of vegan Twix bars for my roomie and I tonight and they are out of this world🤤🤤I’m not a huge baker, but these are pretty straight forward! Simple ingredients👌🏼I’ll take these over a regular Twix bar any day🙋🏽‍♀️
•
You can find the recipe in @rachaelsgoodeats feed or website. I used oat flour instead of coconut flour (because I didn’t have) and they came out 💯👌🏼

  • So here’s 5 things you can do for FREE to better your health.
.
1️⃣Water. More of it. The most basic of basics. 100 ounces or half your body weight every day. Won’t cost ya much more than a few extra 🚽 trips.
.
2️⃣Movement (not exercise). Count your steps (your phone will do that), take the stairs, park further. Stand up 10 min every hour. Move more!
.
3️⃣Mental strength. Start a gratitude journal. Meditate before you start your day. Set 3 small goals a day and check them off. Mental fortitude is a big part of changing your health.
.
4️⃣Food awareness. MyFitnessPal is free! Start tracking what you do eat. Look for patterns. Notate how many veggies you get. What’s your fiber like? Awareness is also free.
.
5️⃣Exercise. Wanna do more than walk but can’t afford the gym? YouTube is free and there are hundreds of free workouts (some of them mine!) to try out! People from all over share the wealth and it’s right there for you to try from home!
.
I rarely think money is the real issue behind not starting a health journey. Sure, gyms and trainers and coaches can add up. But so do fancy haircuts, highlights, mani pedis, eyelashes, fast food, Starbucks, alcoholic beverages out every weekend, etc.
.
True story, I have a client who is a single Mom with 2 jobs that started biking to work to get in more movement and save gas money so she could afford to work with me. She’s lost more weight this year than anyone I coach.
.
Don’t let money be a factor. There’s so much out there you can do for free. Don’t let the dollar get in the way.

Eu costumo dizer que a nutrição me escolheu. ❤️ #nutricaogentil #nutricaocomportamental #workshopamecomer #mindfulness #mindfuleating

  • Cauliflower Nachos

Let’s just be real not much on the nacho front.. I mean where’s the chips?? I would consider this more of a casserole. If you are looking for an extra carb to throw in there you can take 1 and I mean 1 serving of tortilla chips (I love Late July brand) and crumble them up over the top to have a nice little salty crunch to the meal. This is a veggie loaded dish with lots of veggies that are high in antioxidants which are great belly fat blasters. 1 serving consist of 1 1/2 serving of vegetable 1 serving of protein and 1 tsp of oil and ½ serving of healthy fats.
Portion Fix: 1 ½ Green, 1 Red, 1 Tsp (add chips and it’s 1 Yellow too)

2B Plate it: This is a perfect portion for a Plate it Dinner!

Makes 4 servings

4 cups of chopped cauliflower
1lb of ground turkey 97% lean (But honestly just do your best with what you can find)
2 tsp of olive oil
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 orange bell pepper
1 red onion
Healthy Taco Seasoning Blend (I season to taste)
½ cup of shredded cheese (Fiesta or Cheddar)
1 medium tomato chopped

Put the chopped cauliflower in a bowl and drizzle the oil on top. Add the taco seasoning blend, I would have to say that I add probably about a tablespoon of the seasoning but you can do this to taste. Mix up the cauliflower in the bowl to make sure the oil and seasoning is evenly spread.
Put the cauliflower on a baking sheet somewhat spread out (if you want it to be softer you can do this in a glass pan)
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 375
Chop up all the bell peppers and onions (really invest in those $15 choppers that they have at Walmart, totally worth it!)
While the cauliflower is baking put the turkey meat in a pan, add more taco seasoning blend (I also like to add some of the chopped peppers and onions to add a little more flavor in the meat. Cook til brown (or gray cause it’s turkey meat and it looks gray)
Once cauliflower is cooked pull out of the oven
Spread the turkey meat, peppers, and cheese evenly on top and in that order
Throw back in the oven for another 15 minutes
Broil for an additional 1-3 minutes until cheese looks a little brown or to your preference
Add chopped tomato
Enjoy the meal!
