Like the pattern of nature, Taoists seek to have balance throughout the system. The microcosmic orbit promotes balance within the body by mixing the hot and cold, or yang and yin energies.

In most people, there is too much energy somewhere in the body. This might be in the head from too much mental activity, in the heart from too much emotional activity, or in the sexual centers from too much sexual activity or desires. Similarly, there can be too little energy in each of these places due to too much thinking, emotions, or sexual projections.

The microcosmic orbit meditation guides energy to flow up the spine and down the front of the body. To open the points along the microcosmic orbit, one can massage each of the points to create a feeling of presence in each one. A student who is learning this practice can start by massaging the navel in a circular fashion, both directions, and then sitting in stillness to feel awareness in the point without the massaging. And then work their way around the orbit, massaging each point.

For now, we are going to use our Sunday wisely to make some big clean up at home. No needs for bleach for this clean up but rather some motivation and detachment. You’re going to let go of what no longer serves you at home from the kitchen stuff to your closet, you decide! Make sure to donate what can still be used and make a friend or stranger happy.

  • It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything here. Taking time to experience the depths and heights of connecting deeper to self and the beauty and growth that go along with this season has been a place of inner and outer duality. When I was in Spain earlier this year on a solo self guided meditation retreat, I channeled a list of commitments I’ve made to myself as a guiding North Star moving forward in my life, part of which includes continuing to cultivate my creativity as a source of sharing and communicating from a place of truth and authenticity in all areas of my life - with no exception to social media. To share from a place of truth, and in the pureness of vulnerability. My hope with this is to use my words as a place to encourage vulnerability, creativity and connection knowing we are all moving through this life in waves of individual synchronicity, as one. December has been full of deep lessons and unraveling truths, as challenging as that can be, there is such a beauty in the rawness of these moments and the clarity and strength they bring.

  • How can we help relax our system from daily stressors? ⠀

• Eating a balanced healthy diet can assist in balancing blood sugars and allowing us to have the proper nutrients for our bodies to thrive. ⠀
⠀
•Getting regular exercise is important to help reduce our stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the release of hormones such as endorphins which are natural mood enhancers. ⠀
⠀
•Allowing yourself to get enough sleep is important. If you are finding it hard to fall asleep there are a few tips that could help. Make sure not to be on your phone at least an hour before sleeping. The blue light can disrupt melatonin production because it tricks your brain into thinking its daytime. Listening to mellow podcasts, music, background noise, etc, is helpful for some people struggling to fall asleep. One last random point is to make sure you haven’t had coffee at least around six hours before trying to fall asleep. Caffeine has a half life and can last in our systems for 24 hours until it’s fully excreted. ⠀

⠀
•Diaphragmatic breathing! Most of us are very shallow breathers when we are stressed and busy. Wherever you are, you can do this simple activity. ⠀
1) Focus in on taking deep breaths making sure your abdomen expands ⠀
2) Exhale gently through your nose ⠀
3) Repeat! ⠀
These simple steps can allow yourself to fall into a more relaxed state rather than tight and rigid state. ⠀

We all agree that letting go is never easy, even though it hurts us even more. We need to be able to live in the present, so anything that you want to be or anything that you dream of can be realized through the present moment.

We can’t hold on to the things in the past that no longer serves us and hope that we can move on. They might also hinder us from believing that we deserve to be loved and respected, that we deserve all the best things in life.

This is the last month of the year, so we encourage you to release the emotional baggage you’ve been carrying the whole year to have a brand new start.

In this TAT session, we are going to heal our heartaches, traumas, sorrows and disappointments. May us all get out of the situations that made us stuck and lose more things instead of gaining and growing.

    This is the last month of the year, so we encourage you to release the emotional baggage you’ve been carrying the whole year to have a brand new start.

    In this TAT session, we are going to heal our heartaches, traumas, sorrows and disappointments. May us all get out of the situations that made us stuck and lose more things instead of gaining and growing.

    Please take note that starting December 2019, all participants of TAT Group Healing Classes must have experienced private TAT healing session or have ever joined Self Healing HATI Class held by @rezagunawan

  • I use to hate running because my high school coach made me believe I suck at it. I also took forever warming up to intimate partners because I got cheated on by one bitch. Some of you may have had a parent or teacher treat you in a way that caused you to lose trust in authority. Maybe an early relationship ending badly made you not open up to anyone else due to the risk of getting hurt again. So many times we block endless potentially good experiences that might affect our lives in a positive way because we had one or two bad experiences. Don't let one experience stir you away from living your life the way you could. Fully!

Mindfulness is a big part of what I do. “Leaves on a Stream” is a cognitive delusion visualization exercise I use regularly. Not so long ago I used it to manage stress and anxiety and I suppose to a degree I still do but thankfully I’m no way as affected by the external negativity and overwhelming feelings of not feeling good enough. A technique I use daily now to keep me grounded and in tune.

I absolutely love what I do and so humbled by peoples love for my work. So this piece is dedicated to all those who have struggled with mental health and the stresses of life. Here’s to finding your outlet to decrease your anxiety and increase your self worth. .

  • My heart is full. I am so lucky to have these folks as teachers.  I was so bouncy and couldn't stop laughing when they called my name to get my diploma; words can't express what this practice has given me.  Then, I couldn't stop crying.

When I started studying the Franklin Method three years ago, I was having regular panic attacks, severe pain in my body that I thought would never go away, ongoing anxiety, and trauma symptoms. Truthfully, I was desperate. I did not believe that I could change or that any of those things could shift.

I did lots of things on my path to healing and to reducing PTSD symptoms, but this practice was central.

Now, I'm fortunate to be calm enough in my nervous system (most of the time) to be able to witness others in community and in their process and to offer help when it's useful. I'm still an energetic person, but I don't live my life in fight, flight, and freeze. 
I literally got a call from a friend in Boston on the way to graduation asking for help with a traumatic event that was still in process, and I had tools to offer her.

I am so grateful. I use this method in nearly everything I teach now, when I dance, when I'm making theatre, as a bodyworker, and when I'm holding space for others.

  • If you didn’t see on my stories I spent my morning doing something that makes my heart & soul so happy, passing out socks to the homeless. ⁣⁣

Socks are the least donated item at shelters. It’s crazy because almost every single one of you reading this probably takes socks for granted. Its not a bad thing, just reality. The amount of joy a clean, new pair of socks brings the homeless (most of them at least) is something incredible. ⁣⁣

You don’t have to do something huge to make a difference, you just have to do SOMETHING. & I promise you TOTALLY can. It can be something as simple as buying a $3 gift card ⁣to Starbucks. ⁣

Theres so many opportunities to give back, it doesn’t have to be something huge. ⁣⁣
