It is not enough just to ask.⠀
It is not enough just to visualize the outcome, to imagine your next level life, to know with complete clarity what it is you want. It is not enough. ⠀
It is not enough just to talk. You have to show up, and you have to keep showing up. You have to become the kind of person who deserves the life you want. You have to start behaving as though you already have the thing you so deeply desire, and the Universe will reorient itself to make it so.⠀
If you behave like a leader, over time, you become a leader. If you behave like a successful professional, over time, you become a successful professional. If you behave like a good spouse, over time, you become a good spouse. It works the opposite way, too. If you behave like someone who is defeated and unproductive, you will become that, too.
I talk to people about weight all day. And trust me, I get it, and I’ve been there, but without fail (repeat: without fail!) when I see my clients shift their focus from weight loss to health, that number on the scale or on the back of their jeans starts to matter less and less. And sometimes, when we stop obsessing over it, those stubborn pounds fall right off.
Please don’t confuse or measure your health or wellbeing with weigh loss. We’re all different, and the healthiest version of you might not be the skinniest, but it will be the happiest. 💚
It’s the little things that make me happy (anyone who knows me well knows I’m always looking forward to something, even if it’s just whatever we’re having for dinner that night 😂). Today I’m reminiscing about being on Taketomi time where there was plenty of time for lazy pool reading, bike riding and making friends with island cats.
Pause. Take a moment. To breath, be still and come back to the moment. Do you ever just need a minute? To center yourself, exhale, and come back to yourself?
One of my favourite ways to do that is with my Tibetan singing bowl. Singing bowls produce sound and vibration that invoke a deep state of relaxation.
Every time I hear the sound it drops me right into my center. I can’t help but take a deep conscious breath and sloooowly exhale. Works every time, and it just takes a few minutes!
Not everyone has a singing bowl, but all you need is your breath. Breath in with awareness, breath out with awareness. Take 3 deep mindful breaths and see how you feel!

I had originally started checking out apps for focusing to help students, & found that they loved the mindfulness aspect of many of them & would actually ask to use them to help focus & feel more relaxed. Having a kid advocate for themselves & be proactive in using healthy coping skills is a dream come true for parents & teachers. I decided to try & find an app that was more geared for adults & came across Flipd. I’ve loved using the app especially the campfire background sound. Very well designed app, simple to use, & very reasonably priced though the free version is still great too. 🌸🧘🏽♀️🌸⠀

When I was younger I enjoyed every aspect of nature. The smell of intermittent rains upon the newly laid asphalt, road surfaces; the early morning dew drops on grass just outside my window; the smell of the ocean at every turn; the ebb and flow that came with each unpredictable change as we transitioned from dry to rainy season; the feel of walking barefoot outdoors in all kinds of weather; the wide open night skies with billions of glistening stars as far as the eyes could see; the early morning call of the rooster beckoning me from sleep to greet another day, and the daily opportunity to swim and play in the ocean's surf. Little did I know how important these constants were in my life until I left them behind. Until now, I often felt a part of me was lost, never to be found again. Overthinking is one of the biggest causes of unhappiness. Overthinking can create problems that weren't even there or may not even happen in the first place.
Most of the problems we make up in our minds are fear and worry based and do not at us at all.
We think that by overthinking we are helping or protecting ourselves in some way.
What we really are doing is robbing ourselves of this gift we call the present moment.
Here are 5 ways to stop overthinking ⬇️ 1. Stop and focus on the positive going on right now
2. Repeat peaceful words to yourself throughout the day
3.meditate on a regular basis
4. Live in the here and now
5. Get out in nature

As I drove through areas of West Baltimore it was sobering to bear witness to something that wrote about in poetry series a couple of years about poverty of the spirit.
While some areas are undergoing some semblance of a revival - it seems uneven.
Is part of the charm of Charm City the ability to turn a blind eye to persistent pockets of poverty that our fellow human beings must contend with?
Is our hypocrisy charming?
As I bore witness to areas that looked like a war zone - I searched for words that eluded me.
The politics of poverty is something that we often turn a blind eye too.
Maligning people because of the "sin" of being poor.
And... Soon afterwards I allowed my disaffection to leak from my mind to be transposed on paper.
I really enjoy helping my clients reach a higher level in their business. It’s selfishly rewarding. When I see them shine, I feel like a proud parent.

What are you READING?
Did you know that if you pull all of the wealthiest people in the world and ask them what they do everyday they will all tell you the following:
1. Wake up early
2. Have a daily routine
3. And they READ! Some have even reported reading at least 1 book a week.
Of course these aren't the only things they do but think about how much you can expand your mind if you turn off the TV and open a book.

How others treat you is a reflection of them.
This isn't your problem - it's theirs.
It's understandable to feel that you should be treated with the same genuine kindness, courtesy, and respect you give to others, but it isn't going to happen. So don't always expect it.
While you can't exactly control if others treat you poorly you don't have to tolerate it! Don't voluntarily subject yourself to that.
There are circumstances, events, or suffering that occur in everyone's life that may have affected their behavior or character in a negative way. These are things that can cause some to treat others badly.
Obviously, these probably weren't developed by choice.
You may not know what it is but don't let it cause you to become hard.
I've found that it's best not to take it personal. Afterfall, it isn't always about you.
It can become difficult to continuously go out of your way to help and treat others with compassion and respect but keep doing it. That's who you are.
If you continuously sh*t on people then expect karma to come full circle regardless if you think those people deserve it. *I know some people are just a**holes but try to be nice anyways 😉. 👊✊✋👋 💨 🎤 🎤
Remember Chulas healing is not linear. It’s a process and takes time and a willingness to dive deep into the layers of our being. Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know. But always remember life is happening FOR you and not TO you. Lots of love 💗

April is Earth Month. April 22 is Earth Day. 🌏 LOVE to see campaigns and posts around Earth Day, but every day should be dedicated to loving and caring for Mother Earth! Not just this month and next Monday. I had an incredible weekend under the sun, walking on grass (NOT cement 🙌🏼) surrounded by great music and even greater people. But the harsh reality of trash and waste was evident. I really hope festivals are working to find alternatives to plastic. 😖 I wanted to hug people who attempted to reuse their beer/wine/drink cups by bringing them back in line 🥺👏🏼 *hug* #loveyourmama
