On this half-day hiking trip from #Barcelona , Ramon will bring you to discover Montserrat, the world famous multi-peaked “sawed mountain”, visit the Benedictine Abbey and hear the boys choir sing the famous Escolania de Montserrat. ⛰🌲 After half an hour drive on a minivan, you will arrive at Montserrat. The tour will start with a visit to the Benedictine abbey and discovering its amazing history. “Montserrat” literally means “sawed mountain” in Catalan because of its multi-peaked rocky range. It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat which hosts the famous Black Madonna “La Moreneta”. 🐾🐿 Once you have visited the abbey, you will get ready and start hiking from the monastery following a beautiful path around the needle formations of the mountain passing by many natural viewpoints offering awesome views over the abbey and the forests around. You will continue until the highest point of the mountain, from where you will get the chance to see breathtaking views of 360 degrees over the multi-peaked rocky range and in clear days you would be able to see the Pyrenees and Mallorca island. 🧗♂️🌋 After admiring those great landscapes taking some pictures and eating a delicious typical Catalan sandwich you will start descending through a shady path between the needle formations and forests of the mountain that will bring you back to the Abbey where you will hear the choir sing the famous Escolania de Montserrat boys choir. 🌅👣 On this special hiking trip to Montserrat, you will be led by Ramon, a professional mountain guide and one of many passionate local hosts of Triple.

Woke up at 5 in the morning to experience the sunrise at Montserrat. On the way there, the moon was shining bright in the sky. When I got there, I could barely see other people. You could enjoy seeing the sun rise above the mountains completely in solitude while hearing the bells of the monestary ring in the distance. I could calmly experience the entrance of the sun changing the colour of the sky for every minute. I could take my time visiting the monestary with no kew behind me. I would gladly become a morning person if I was promised experiences like this everyday.🙌🏽⛰
