I’m en route to Melbourne today to check out progress at our #projecthillhouse renovation 👉🏻 Mornington Peninsula. ⠀
When I say I’m en route, I mean me, my scarves, my boots, my gloves, my coat and the thickest socks I could find. ⠀
Because for Qlders, the Melbourne cold is REAL ❄️❄️ ⠀
SO, I’ll pop up some BTS up on my stories today (if I can feel my hands). ⠀
Stay tuned for details on this project, our plan to transform the pants off it, and what we’ve designed to add serious value to this home ✔️ ⠀

what kind of yoga teacher am i?
i got asked this question not long ago, and i’ve been mulling over the answer ever since. i suppose the way i teach is a summary of my relationship with yoga; my personal discovery of this sacred practice, the lessons i’ve learned as a dedicated student, and the skills and knowledge i’ve gained from formal studies and education.
for 17 years i competed in and coached women’s artistic gymnastics, and as i continue to bloom as a yoga teacher i’m beginning to realise how much influence this has on my style. i know what’s required of a skill or asana, how to break it down, pull it apart, and build it back up again. i’m big on drills and progressions, and i love to teach in a way that sets my yogis up to feel safe, supported, and capable.
i’m a fan of getting the basics - the fundamentals of posture and movement - down pat before building up to peak postures. i like to sneak in little bits of strength and conditioning, play with funky transitions, and use props to help learn vital alignments. i know how to teach handstands and splits and even backflips, but as my own personal practice has developed, my focus as both a teacher and student has gently moved towards how we can use yoga to promote longevity and vitality, as opposed to fuel our egos with fancy tricks. for me, functionality wins over fanciness every time, but that’s not to say my classes lack fun and funkiness and all the good stuff in between.
find me teaching beginner and vinyasa classes enriched with hatha magic at @highvibeyogapilates on the mornington peninsula ✨📿🙏🏽🔥🌈 #yoga#yogateacher#melbourne#melbournelovesyoga#morningtonpeninsula#hatha#vinyasa#dharma

Production/recording workshops coming soon! Ever wanted to write a song but can’t play an instrument or record it professionally?! We got you covered!! 🔥🔥
👋🏻 @andrea_m_acupuncturist here! Have you ever taken supplements and found they did nothing for you? This can be super frustrating considering how expensive supplements can be! To avoid flushing your money down the toilet, literally and figuratively, seek professional advice from a practitioner that’s trained to use these forms of medicine. That’s right medicine! Just because you didn’t get a script from your doctor, doesn’t mean the supplement you’re taking isn’t powerful when taken properly.
Quality is very important to consider when purchasing supplements. Trying to save money on supplements most likely means you’ll be buying a product in its cheapest and least absorbable form, or its under-dosed. Some of these supplements may even contain toxic substances that will actually make you sick. Not to freak you out, but most supplement companies are dodgy AF 🛑
You can avoid all of this by seeking guidance from a qualified health practitioner as we have access to practitioner prescribed supplements. You can’t buy these supplements off the shelf at your local health food shop or chemist because they are powerful and high dose. If taken incorrectly they could cause harm. ☠️ Another reason to seek a professional opinion is because we can sometimes use a simple blood test to find out if you’re actually low in something. 📉
There are lots of really great supplement brands that you can buy from your chemist! And with a few pointers on what to look out for, you can certainly buy your own supplements.
If you ever want to know if a supplement is safe, snap a pic of the label and bring it in for your health practitioner to have a look at. I do this for my patients all the time! It’s a great way to avoid the junk and learn a thing or two along the way 🤓
