Happy new moon.
For those of you I have not met in real time...I thought this new moon would be a time to share a bit about me and my work.
“I was raised on a small farm on Hornby Island, off the coast of Vancouver Island Canada. This is where my exploration of alternative living began. Over the past ten years I have been devoted to a regular meditation and yoga practice, which has been my anchor. My yoga training has included both Vinyasa and Yoga Therapy. I have a Integrative Massage and Yoga Therapy practice here in Tofino British Columbia, where I currently reside. I hold a Diploma of Acupuncture form Pacific Rim College and I am awaiting final exam results from my licensing body to be a Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac).
Through witnessing and receiving healing on the table, I believe wholeheartedly in the power of holistic medicine. I value ease, movement, and the sacred safety that is created internally with effective tools. I enjoy encouraging people to use their hearts, bodies, breath, creativity, and vulnerability in order to transform. My strength to others is my compassion and presence. I am committed to being open to what a client needs moment to moment and being sincere with my words, touch, and other resources offered. My approach in both yoga teaching and massage is to guide others using non-intrusive, gentle, and intuitive methods.”
If you ever wanted to look inside a Sea Otter’s mouth, here’s your chance! They may look cute and cuddly, but there is no doubt this otter could inflict some serious pain and injury. Do yourself a favor and give them a wide berth, especially while kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding or diving.
This week has been rather rough for a break from school & yet, I feel way too privileged to complain. I wish I could be back in Morro Bay enjoying this view. I think this might be one of my favorite sketches. It was pure bliss and just absolute enjoyment, really taking everything in. I didn’t use pencil, just total freehand. I had planned to come back to it, but I really love it just the way it is. Unfinished artwork is really sort of my favorite. Like forever just a work in progress. I mean, that’s sort of what we all are? Unfinished masterpieces. Ew, that was too cliche.
Anyway, I also wanted to just take a second to step back and remind myself that even in the rough, things will be calm again. I’m blessed. I have really great people in my life & I need to remember to thank them for being a part of it. I really hate when my depression hits like this. It’s suffocating sometimes. It feels almost immature and childish to just close up & close off and be depressed. Idk. Anyway, have a ramble. Welcome to my diary or whatever. #art#sketch#sketchbook#micronpen#inkdrawing#wip#artstuff#artist#artistoninsta#instaart#freehand#outline#linework#lines#lineart#drawing#california#skyline#morrobay#landscapeart#morrorock
