Repost from @jilldailey: Tomorrow across all TDM Studios one of your thigh work exercises will likely be lateral lunge. This exercise was recently added to our ever evolving curriculum. We noticed that in our current format our inner thigh exercises were a little light so we worked on ways to incorporate more inner thigh strengthening and stretching. I am forever grateful for my amazing team of Master Teacher Trainers (MTT) that combined have over 40 years experience teaching TDM. If you include my 20 years that's over 60! Talk about knowledge, passion and dedication! We meet every week to discuss the class we deliver to you and continually work together to make it the safest, most balanced and most effective workout possible. We try everything ourselves first, figure out how to best cue and adjust our Students for each movement, and then provide the tools to our community of Owner's and Teachers so they can perfectly integrate it for your practice! ⁠⠀

⁠Alignment cues:⁠⠀
- On bent knee side keep your knee tracking over the center line of your foot⁠⠀
- Sit way back in hips so knee stays in front of ankle but behind your toes⁠⠀
- Lengthen your spine forward, keeping your spine in neutral and core engaged⁠⠀
- Keep the outer edge of your foot on straight leg firmly grounded down.⁠⠀

  • To treat any injury properly it’s not about Smashing it as hard as you can! Sometimes it’s actually about light strokes and keeping the neurology and nervous system happy! AkA harder isn’t better but effective is the goal.

Nous sommes tous créatifs puisque nous créons TouT : notre Vie, nos relations, notre logement, notre environnement

Quand on applique sa créativité concrètement, dans un domaine qu’on aime, certains parle d’Etat de Grâce. Mais on sait bien que la majorité des artistes vivaient des périodes de « tortures », de troubles, d’incompréhension, même si leur Art semble Génial.
•
La création nous oblige à bouger. À bouger de ce que l’on connait, à bouger de ce que l’on sait qui fonctionne, pour découvrir autre chose, une nouvelle expérience.
Et comme on a tendance à s’accrocher à ce qui fonctionne (« j’y suis bien et j’y reste, ça marche, pourquoi changer? »), soit on subit la création, soit on la refoule. Dans tous les cas, elle est quand même là et elle trouvera l’ouverture pour parcourir son chemin jusque là où elle doit se révéler.

La créativité, la Création demande du lâcher prise sur ce que l’on a « acquis », pour se révéler, encore une fois sous un autre jour.

1)  Лучшее время – сейчас.
Вероятно, в будущем от  более тщательной подготовки к задуманному вас отвлекут множество других интересных или вынужденных обстоятельств. Поэтому лучше сейчас, с тем багажом знаний, навыков, умений, что уже есть.

2)  Фитнес – один из эффективных инструментов для работы над собой.
Не смотря на многочисленные вопросы «зачем это тебе» – я уверена.
⠀
3)  Командная работа – это продуктивно.
С университетских времен думала иначе, т.к. чаще всего напарники замедляли мою деятельность. Но нет. Когда усилия всех членов команды устремлены в одном направлении – результат потрясающий.

4)  Лучше поспевать за теми, кто сильнее тебя, нежели быть безусловным лидером среди отстающих.
⠀
5)  Соревновательные мероприятия показывают, как много ты еще не умеешь и как много ты УЖЕ умеешь. Тем самым ты всегда в середине пути. Имеющиеся навыки напоминают о своей пользе, предстоящие – мотивируют двигаться дальше.

6)  Обувь для спорта - в отличие от просто спортивной – не дешевое, но полностью оправдывающее затраты, удовольствие. Грамотно подобранная обувь обеспечивает правильную биомеханику тела.

7)  Курение – ерунда? Эта ерунда нехило мешала, не задыхаясь, бежать многим участникам забега, даже самым физически подготовленым.

8)  Умение таскать себя на кольцах, канате, турниках в привычном спортзале – это одно. А когда жара, грязь, особенности местности и прочие факторы: ситуация значительно усложняется.

9)  Договориться со своими страхами сложно. Советы про «настройся», «не смотри вниз», «не думай» – не изменят ситуацию, как и собственные размышления про «сделаю, когда перестану бояться». Перестанете ли? Ждать бесстрашия – трата времени. Приходиться бояться и делать, вспоминая про пункт №1.

  • Active vs Passive Practice

Active practice means focusing on the subject of matter you're learning and concentrating fully on it. Passive practice on the other hand is doing anything and everything else under the sun and still practicing your subject(in this case dance based movements).For eg walking and dancing or talking to your friends and tutting simultaneously
.
I prefer passive more as I like to observe and absorb more rather than just focus on that particular thing. But I've realised that to get better at something effectively you need to put some active practice in, so planning to do that :)

  • Moving itself can be stressful. We can only imagine that moving with kids can add to the stress. Keeping everyone fed, entertained and happy can get overwhelming. Here are some fun easy tips to get your kiddos (and yourself) through your next move with ease. ⁣
⁣
-SNACKS! Ya we know you know this but kids love to snack. Keep them from getting hungry so you can focus on the task at hand. ⁣🍎🍌🍒
⁣
-Fun crafts and games. These days there are so many fun and portable games your kids can enjoy while you’re running around trying to prepare for your move. Jenga,leggos, mini play-do sets make for some fun distractions. ⁣
⁣
-Be sure to set aside clean clothes,especially if you are moving with young kids. From my experience they don’t like to be wet or dirty so having clean clothes on hand can deter a meltdown. ⁣
⁣
-Small tablets with educational kids puzzles. ⁣

-On moving day it’s a fun idea to pack each child a backpack with their favorite toy, snacks, and something fun to do. It can make them feel included in the move! ⁣

When I move freely I feel like I'm navigating my way past what I compute at a thinking level, past what I see outside of myself. I carve out space to feel, to gather intel on a richer, embodied level. This is what movement can do. It takes us past what we think, or what we think we think, into other layers. Layers of knowing, layers that have been buried under clutter that blocks us from being who we want to be and doing what we want to do. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
In the session you'll move to stir up, dig, connect, feel into those deeper layers you perhaps haven't explored before. You'll get wild with movement and writing, to tap into the whispers of your heart and gut and hold space for them to have their say. ⠀
⠀⠀
Everyone is welcome. Everyone is a mover. Everyone is a writer. These tools are here for the taking. There is no getting it wrong. I promise. ⠀

  • I have a slow day in home health, usually takes a few days to rebuild a caseload after time away. So I ended up with a free morning to try a new Pilates class I’ve never done.

I’ve gained a lot of strength and confidence in my level 1 and 1.5 classes I’ve been taking consistently, but today I tried the cardio class. The whole time I thought I might actually die. Right there on the reformer. 😂 But I finished, and now I feel like a million bucks! Ready to get this week started. 
A key to any wellness program is a healthy mind. The right mindset is the key to achieving weight loss or better heath. Eating right, and moving the body plays a huge roll in healthy mind. One leads to another for wonderful harmony 😊 🧘‍♀️
