  • The bravest boy I know ๐Ÿ’ซ. This morning we went from visiting his paediatrician for a follow up to ending the evening in hospital getting his x-ray done but he did so well and was so behaved, Iโ€™m so proud of you Freddie โค๏ธ. Now itโ€™s the long 8 days wait to find out his results, fingers cross everything okay ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ. Freddie has also been put on medication to see if this will help with his muscle spasm pain he experiences during the night so it be interesting to see if this helps. now the craziness is over the realisation of today kicked in and not going to lie I feel really emotional, cerebral palsy sucks but tomorrow a new day ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ #cerebralpalsy

  • Good morning! I said over the Easter Weekend I was working on a little craft project, well, this is it. I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out but it's by no means perfect! It was bloody difficult! The kitchen was Halle's Christmas present and I knew I always alwanted to personalise it after scrolling through Pinterest and seeing an abundance of Duktig Kitchens which have been some of which are absolutely amazing and must have taken ages! I'll be posting on my blog later how I did this and what products I used so stay tuned for that.

I am grateful for the struggles I went through as a teen. It is keeping things in perspective as my own kids enter their teens.

I am grateful for my ability to decorate cakes. It means my kids have always had cool birthday cakes.

I am grateful for my tendency to day dream. It means Iโ€™ll never just be drifting along in life.
.
I am grateful for my nails. They are strong and grow really fast!
.
I am grateful for my practicality. It means I can usually figure out a way to deal with any problems I encounter.

I am grateful for ability to use my breath to calm my nervous system. It allows me to have control over my stress levels.

I am grateful for my struggles as a mother. It means I can use what I have learned to support others.

I am grateful for my resilience. It has helped me survive and thrive the last 37 years.
.
I am grateful for my childhood spent on a farm. As a mother it gives me a unique perspective of how a childhood can be.

I am grateful for my intuition. It serves me in every part of my life.

  • Albert Einstein. "Play is the highest form of research". (Thought not to actually be an Einstein quote! But 1 of my favourite quotes none the less!!) This morning is Easter Sunday, we have been treated to a bit of a heatwave & I'm currently 39 weeks & 1 day so a typical roast Easter dinner is simply out of the question! 
Today we will picnic! ๐Ÿด๐Ÿช๐Ÿž Daddy will be farming (& currently is!) So let's bring the partay to him!! I may have cheated a bit & bought a few slices of this & that from the Farmers Market but we, I mean I will spend some time prepping for the feast this am (most likely ham & cheese sambos! & sausage rolls๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†, let's keep this Irish!).... Hopefully we will have as much fun today as we did during the week down at the river!! ๐Ÿ‡๐ŸฅHAPPY EASTER!! ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ‡ Hope whatever you are doing it is a day dedicated to forging memories! Xx

Journalling has always seemed a bit illusive to me, although I absolutely love to write. Iโ€™ve always had this belief that to journal you needed some structure. You need to write everyday, and write about your day, about you life, and what is going on for you. Every entry would have a date, and everything is recorded in chronological order. Therefore, I spent many years dreaming of journalling, but unable to stick to it on an everyday basis.

What I have learned though, is that my perception simply isnโ€™t true. Journalling can be anything you want or need it to be. For me, it is writing whenever I feel the need to write.
.
When my kids were babies, when Iโ€™ve struggled in relationships, when Iโ€™ve been anxious, when Iโ€™ve been depressed, and even when Iโ€™ve been over stimulated, the very simple act of writing has always been a way for me to organise my thoughts. Writing allows me to get thoughts from my over active mind into paper. It allows me to record moments in time. It allows me to say things to people that I just canโ€™t verbalise.
.
Never underestimate the power of emptying your mind. Even if pen and paper writing isnโ€™t for you, maybe typing will work, or just making a voice recording - even if you never listen to it. I very rarely read what Iโ€™ve written!

  • Good morning, it looks like we're in for another sunny day! One thing I am enjoying (as sad as it may be) is actually being able to get on top of the washing! I'm loving being able to get the washing dry in a day on the line instead of it taking days on end to dry even a tiny bit all the while the washing basket is over flowing and you're drowning in a sea of dirty pants and socks.

I had a fabulous time away this week, travelling to Queenstown to see my little sister get married.
.
When we are away from home it always bring into perspective just how lucky we are to have the freedom to pack up and go on holidays. When the kids were little, and my anxiety was really extreme, I found it just too difficult to manage a family holiday. Hubby would organise and plan, he would drive and do things with the kids, and he would do his very best to ensure I enjoyed our time as much as I could. But, so often it was just too much for me to manage. I am so grateful for the fact that he was willing to do all that for me, for us.
.
If you are feeling down, or anxious, or unable to cope...or maybe all of the above, it is so so important to make time for yourself, to make time for adventures, and to make time to enjoy some quality interaction with the people you love the most.
.
It doesnโ€™t have to be big. Maybe you go to a local park and just watch the kids play, maybe you go out for a meal, or visit family friends, or maybe you do take a trip away somewhere. Whatever you do, donโ€™t let it be stressful.     I had a fabulous time away this week, travelling to Queenstown to see my little sister get married.
    .
    When we are away from home it always bring into perspective just how lucky we are to have the freedom to pack up and go on holidays. When the kids were little, and my anxiety was really extreme, I found it just too difficult to manage a family holiday. Hubby would organise and plan, he would drive and do things with the kids, and he would do his very best to ensure I enjoyed our time as much as I could. But, so often it was just too much for me to manage. I am so grateful for the fact that he was willing to do all that for me, for us.
    .
    If you are feeling down, or anxious, or unable to cope...or maybe all of the above, it is so so important to make time for yourself, to make time for adventures, and to make time to enjoy some quality interaction with the people you love the most.
    .
    It doesnโ€™t have to be big. Maybe you go to a local park and just watch the kids play, maybe you go out for a meal, or visit family friends, or maybe you do take a trip away somewhere. Whatever you do, donโ€™t let it be stressful. I read a nice quote this morning & it led toย  what was djhreally was a gฤŸod Friday'. Tadhg asked me earlier, "why is it called Good Friday, and not Sad Friday?"....great question from a 6 year old it's because "there's no homework on Fridays"

Today was a special day! Helped massively by the fact the temperatures were up & the sun was out! 
Today was not a perfect day there were tantrums and melt downs - unfinished plates of beans - snotty noses ...mud fights!!๐Ÿ˜ All sorts of emotions make an appearance on a daily basis here, especially as we are all navigating new territories with a new baby coming!

But tonight I am grateful! 
Beyond grateful for so many positive encounters today!

So grateful, so grateful!

We went down to the local river today and had a ball - Im always so happy with the camera around my neck - I'm so happy I handed my ๐Ÿ“ท to 1 of my friends just before we left to capture a moment of & Fionn & bump! 
I'm a lucky girl to have ended up living in such a beautiful area with such beautiful people all around... I'm told while my energy is as high as it is baby will more than likely not be arriving! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚ So I reckon I'll be around forย  a few days yet!! Keep an eye on my stories for any big changes! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚

So I'm currently in a state of elation which is normal for me ahead of the birth of my baby!

I like to make lists and tick them off!

Today though as much as there is to do I need to try to be mindful that welcoming our new baby is such a huge thing for the 3 boys! 
Fionn who regularly growls "I'm not a baby" is in fact the baby! 
And Tadhg was newly 3 when we welcomed Fionn while Conall was only 20 mths! Fionn is 3 now and totally clued in...I went a few days over on all 3 and I'm feeling like it will be a few more days at least!

The next few days are precious and while I'm trying to navigate them while getting what jobs I need to get ticked off the list I also need to try to be mindful of my boys! And cherish these days too! 
The full moon tonight is called the pink Moon - friend called me to ask me to be ready! And she's batting pink! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜†

  • Freddieโ€™s little Easter basket all filled up and ready for this weekend and I canโ€™t wait to see his face ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. Tomorrow we have a busy one, weโ€™re doing lots of Easter crafts, trip to the park and then we have a little Egg hunt set up for Freddie ๐Ÿฐ canโ€™t wait ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ
