I had different intentions for naptime hustle today... tackling the 4' high laundry pile in my bedroom, washing the dishes piled in the sink, going through the bin of winter gear that we'll need soon, because #mnwinter... but I also knew that all I needed was 30 minutes to get a good workout in and I would feel much better for the rest of the day. So I made that my priority and 30 minutes later I'm done!⁣

The time will never be perfect.⁣
The stars will never magicaly align.⁣
Life will never slow down.⁣
⁣
I get it, life is crazy-busy for everyone, and with the holidays coming up so fast (only 10 more weekends until Christmas #saywhat) it would just be easier to say "I'll start in January," right?⁣

But what will that do? It definitely won't give you a head start on the new year or an accountibility group to help you with nutritional choices during all the holiday parties and endless amounts of food.🙊⁣

Embrace where you are NOW and just start.⁣
⁣
Commit to yourself and make that choice to work on yourself beginning TODAY. You deserve it!⁣
⁣
You can either stay where you are or you can look back January 1, 2020 and be proud of how far you've already come and how excited you are to keep going!⁣

This is the last 90 days of the year, guys! It's time to step outside of your comfort zone in order to see the change that you want to create... and you know I (and a whole lot of other ladies) got you when you're ready to do it! 👊⁣

ALL THE MONDAY FEELS!! ✨ I love Mondays, especially this Monday because my new favorite Barre program is available for everyone TODAY!! Eeeeek, Merry early Christmas to youuuu!! 🥳⁣

  • Week 5? Not my strongest of the #sweatchallenge but I was definitely celebrating some personal milestones these past few days. This mama got promoted to supervisor 😱🎉 so I know moving forward I’ll need working out to level my mind and keep me grounded. ALSO our 13 month old, Lily, started walking so our world is changing HARD and FAST. Welcome to life, I suppose!

  • I made the mistake of doing flying pushups in a keynote speech once.
.
Now every time I'm booked for a presentation, they want to see it.
.
But even though it's incredibly challenging to do my freestyle pushup routine and then casually slip back into a poised, professional speech 😂, I now see the advantages it creates.
.
1:  It's completely unique to me and my story, PLUS it separates me from other speakers.
.
2: It's actually a perfect way for me to illustrate the importance of mastering the basics of storytelling.
.
See, I didn't just wake up one day and try to attempt this feat. .
First I had to build up the strength to just hold myself in a plank position. .
Then I had to increase my strength by doing countless reps of basic pushups, and before that, modified pushups (on my knees).
.
Then I could do explosive pushups where my hands left the floor or I could even clap them together in mid air.
.
And THEN, I had finally built up the strength to do a move like this, where my whole body leaves the ground. After that, I was able to take that strength and do SO MUCH more.
.
So I tell my future compelling storytellers in the audience: you too must master the basics first.
.
Master the art and science of what makes a good story. Empathy. Struggle. Characters.
.
Eventually, you will learn new skills and acquire new tools.
.
And THEN, you can use them to tell your story in the most creative way possible. In a way that only YOU can.

  • Sometimes in a long distance relationship, you just have “𝘰𝘧𝘧 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴”.⁣

Days where you’re out of sync. Or you can’t get anything to line up right. Or one falls asleep before the other. Or instances of “wait, you never told me that happened last week!”. Or someone’s busy that night. Or you talked about wedding stuff all day without actually talking about how your day is or was.⁣
⁣
“𝘖𝘧𝘧 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴”⁣
⁣
These are the days that make being in a long distance relationship this big, obvious, unavoidable 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆. ⁣
⁣
Most of the time you can ignore or embrace it, but those are the days that make it tough. ⁣
⁣
They’re also the days that make it 𝐒𝐎 worth it when the distance is closed. ⁣
⁣
When you can roll over and poke them just cause you can. When you can give them a squeeze for cleaning up after dinner. When the kisses on the forehead are extra sweet. When you can sit in each other’s silence and be okay with it, because you don’t need to cram your whole day into 20 minutes of rushed conversation.⁣

If you’re in the same situation, just know that this feeling isn’t forever, sis. It’s definitely not always fun, but in the end it will 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 be worth it.💛

  • That’s all! Sweat 6 week challenge is done. 🎉🏆 I didn’t reach all my goals but I celebrate that I reached most of them. And through the six weeks so much happened at work and in life but I pushed through in spite of it and didn’t give up. Every year I do the #sweatchallenge I more and more about my own strength inside and out. We made it #pwrbabes 🙌🏼 Our fearless trainer leader kicked our butts and it felt good!! Thanks @kelseywells 🖤⚡️

  • Don’t forget the cardio! I prefer HITT then straight cardio. I do 15 minutes and I’m done. I’m not one to run long distance. But I applaud those that do. We all have our preferred mode of exercise - cardio or weights. I like weights. And I have to remind myself not to forget the cardio. It has its purpose and it helps. What’s your preference, cardio 🏃🏻‍♀️ or weights 💪🏼 ?

  • *currently biting my nails at the thought of posting this* 😬 I kinda wanna cry/scream or runaway and hide at the fact that I’m posting this because it feels so weird and I feel exposed to let anyone see me, the real and out of shape, exhausted me. I’ve been stagnant and still for such a long time, just terrified of stepping out, trying to always figure out my next move before taking a step, but I’m choosing to take a step this time, without knowing how this is going to go. So this is me, choosing to commit to 12 weeks of investing into myself. I’ve set a goal of losing 15 kgs of fat over that time through a holistic approach, choosing nourishing wholesome food, daily movement, managing my mental, and emotional wellbeing, and catering to my soul needs too. I’m really focusing myself on achieving balance and revival through healing from the inside out 💕

  • Welcome to holiday Monday. The start of Week 6 for the #sweatchallenge. Best way to start it off? Go to the gym with headphones but no cell phone. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Had to improvise with no tunes and build my own lower body workout from memory. I think I made something pretty good but didn’t completely wreck my legs 👌🏼 #itiswhatitis.

  • Fear hijacks your life. 😞 Don’t let it. I deal with fear of failure. Will I fail at meeting my fitness goals. Will I fail at doing a specific workout. Will I fail at my job. Will I fail when I try anything. I’m crippled by fear. I’ve learned that failure isn’t necessarily bad if you try. Failing means you at least tried. And trying is worth it. Fear tries to rob you of what can be, of what is possible. Anything is possible if you try. 💛

  • Face to face Friday. Wow. The pic on the left was taken on my 40th birthday. That was the day I decided that I had had enough and wanted to make a change. That was 3 years ago. It has taken a lot of patience and hard work, but it has definitely been worth it. And I am never going back!
