  • Sunset on the Oregon coast 🔥
As I’m thinking of what I want out of 2020, one of the things that comes to mind is getting back into reading consistently. I started the book ‘Scary Close - dropping the act and finding true intimacy’ by @donmilleris earlier this month and just finished it today so I’m already off to a good start 😊
His other book ‘Through Painted Deserts’ is one of my favorite books so I’m not sure why it took me so long to read this one. But wow, am I glad I finally did. It was an insightful read on healthy relationships, honesty, vulnerability, and fear. I’ll probably share more from this book soon but for now here is a quote from it: “But love doesn’t control, and I suppose that’s why it’s the ultimate risk. In the end, we have to hope the person we’re giving our heart to won’t break it, and be willing to forgive them when they do, even as they will forgive us. Real love stories don’t have dictators, they have participants. Love is an ever-changing, complicated, choose-your-own adventure narrative that offers the world but guarantees nothing. When you climb a mountain or sail an ocean, you’re rewarded for staying in control. Perhaps that’s another reason true intimacy is so frightening. It’s the one thing we all want, and must give up control to get.”

  • Sharing my little travel tip - Every year I’m always trying to stretch my limited budget across as many trips as possible 🌎 I’ve come to realise that booking tickets way in advance and consciously choosing to travel during the fringe seasons always helps me enjoy lower prices and smaller crowds! ✌️ Another tip - remember to switch on Travel Mode on DBS digibank app when preparing for your trip ✈️ #DBSTravelMode

  • @tyler.mckay.photos - The snow when we first got to this waterfall was falling so slowly it felt like a slow motion video, there was no wind and big snow flakes creating this stunning view.

  • Throwback to the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen 😍 I knew I'd be blown away by Iceland but seeing it in person was better than I anticipated. Its blown up as a tourist destination for a reason and I truly think everyone should go. Have you been?

🇬🇧 There’s no shortage of great spot to watch the sunset along Douro River, but this one is probably one of my favorite. 📍Passeio das Fontainhas, near the Infante Bridge.

  • My idea of a successful road trip out west is when I can spot wildlife from the side of the road - in this case the highway. Over a span of 10 days we saw - 12 moose, three coyotes, two bald eagles, countless pronghorn, seven big horn sheep and hundreds of elk.
Someday soon I hope I add 'wolf' to this list...cause I really really really want to see a wolf in the wild...from as close as these pronghorn, perhaps? Surely that's not a bad goal for 2020, right?
