Wine of the Week🥂
2016 Gentleman Farmer Chardonnay
~In honor of International Chardonnay day this past week, it only makes sense my featured wine should represent one of the best California Chardonnays you will ever have the pleasure of tasting... 😋
Three guys that found each other through the soulful connection of wine & cuisine... Joe Wolosz- a native Californian- grew up watching his parents entertain many pool side parties & summer BBQ’s that created the seed for food, wine & hospitality. Received a culinary degree that has shaped the vision for Gentleman Farmer. •He is the proud Vintner & “Sidekick” Winemaker.. 👊🏻 Jeff Durham- Napa born & raised. Product of his family farming grapes in the early 80’s. He grew up learning everything about vineyard management & harvest. Left for college and eventually wine brought him back to where it all started for him... “to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time..” •Jeff is the current Vintner.. 👊🏻 Jason Moore- followed his dreams in 2002 by moving to California. The night before leaving, this lucky guy scored a very generous fat tip his last night of waiting tables & headed west with his wife in the pursuit of making wine in Napa. He landed at Gentlemen Farmer working his first harvest in 2005 and became part of the team. •Current Winemaker & consultant. 👊🏻Gentleman’s Farmer is a very small production. Combing the enjoyment of food & wine, they believe each season tells a story. Sharing these traditions with those they love- new and old. Story telling and connecting is not only meaningful to life but necessary to the soul. ~wine notes~Wente Clone fruit from Muir-Hannah Vineyard in Napa- all of sustainability. This Cooler climate allows for more acidity allowing freshness and a long hang time.. Has some weight- subtle creaminess, citrus, stone fruit & lovely spice on the finish. 🍇 The influential 1976 Judgment of Paris has a direct connection to this land with the best rated Chardonnay 1973 vintage of Chateau Montelena was produced with fruit from these vines.. I did mention this is one of the best.. and will happily drink to that! 🙌🏼🥂
Happy National Wine Day! What better way to celebrate than with our truly 'new' wine: our very first Smith-Madrone Rosé, from the 2018 vintage!!!⠀
Over the last few harvests we have experimented with small lots and 2018 proved to be the charm. The wine is a 50/50 mix of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The color is a slightly wild combination of watermelon and salmon of unusual intensity and visual interest. ⠀
Aromatically it leads with fetching floral and strawberry notes, topped by a distinct element of roses. The impression of roses follows through on the palate. This element in the wine is the Cabernet Franc asserting itself. It gives way to a silky mid-palate texture and considerable depth of flavor, finally finishing with a succulent texture and considerable depth of flavor, finally finishing with a mouthwatering acidity. The overall impression is of a wine that is not only delicious and lively on the palate but is perhaps a bit more serious than most Rosés. ⠀
It's a lovely wine for summertime and will pair well with a wide variety of dishes. We have had a lot of fun with this, our first rosé adventure! ⠀
Available via our website and at the Winery.⠀
We have all the essentials to celebrate #NationalWineDay . How are you celebrating today?

In celebration of National Wine Day 2019, I thought I would reach out to all the US Riesling lovers out there with a recommendation. Having lived in Germany for a decade, I knew that Riesling could be the nectar of the gods. Even Thomas Jefferson extolled the varietal and brought grape stalks back from Germany to plant at his estate in Monticello in the 18th century!
Got to execute a fun idea today thanks to the #uniquecorncollab hosted by Steph @theanxious.baker . So many ideas, so little time! I wanted to do a Candycorn until I found out marshmallows are not candy lol. So I'm calling her a Confecticorn! I used different color candies to create the unicorn's name. So fun to make!

Napa Valley | If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends.
Had a great time traveling to Napa Valley with these two grape lovers! We made a pact that the next time we go, it will be with our fiancées. 😩 #thirdtimesacharm
