When I was younger I honestly hated my hair so much! I would be so annoyed with this thick bush of mane on my head that I never ever wore it curly infront of people besides my family and even then, I would make sure to wet it continuously so it wouldn’t dry and get bigger. I know a lot of you have been through this as well so my story is no different and I’m not here to say that mine is. But, the way the natural community has grown over the years makes me super emotional (even typing this I’m legit tearing up)
I remember walking to campus and being called all sorts of names, like literally shouted at in the streets. And now, when I see natural heads all over the place and seeing the impact we’re having on young girls makes me so proud.
I’m grateful for this small platform I have where I can communicate with you beauties. Hearing your journeys and seeing your growth makes me feel like a proud mama 💕 and impacting you even in a small way makes me really happy
I don’t know man, I’m just moved in my heart when I get to meet you guys or chat with y’all. As much as you say I inspire you, you inspire me 💫 .

I am giving you 4 tips for easy DIY hair moisturizers made with simple ingredients you may already have in your kitchen.
1. Avocado has earned the reputation for one of nature's best food. The oils and proteins gotten from it smooths and moisturizes your locks and retains the beauty of your hair. One of the ways I would use this is to mash half an avocado add a few drops of peppermint oil.
2. Coconut oil is heavy, this is great for penetrating deep into your hair. You should use sparingly especially if you fine or thin hair. I would take a tablespoon of the oil and apply to the end of damp hair. If the oil is solid just heat till it turns liquid before applying and if you have really dry hair, keep it on through the night and wash out in the morning with a mild shampoo. I tell you... the wonders of this oil never cease to amaze me.
3. Bananas are super awesome for your hair and feet and I can't stress this enough. Mixing banana + 1 tablespoon of olive oil, mash until you get a smoothie-like texture (you don't want to end up with banana chunks in your hair). Massage this mixture into your hair and scalp until it's spread evenly. Leave treatment for about 45minutes, rinse thoroughly and shampoo.
4. Pumpkins have some great benefits. They are rich in vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, potassium and zinc. If you add 2 tablespoons of honey to 1 cup of pumpkin purée and pack as much as you can to scalp and hair, I bet you will begin to get the result you desire for your hair with time. With this treatment, you'll need to wear a shower cap to keep the mask in place. Allow for about 20minutes and the rinse. You can freely apply this mixture to your face also.
“69 million Nigerians live without clean, drinkable or useable water. I know it’s not the entire country living like this. I know as a nation we’ve seen tremendous growth that makes us all proud. But, we still have far too many in this country only surviving, not thriving. Far too many parents losing their children to water born infectious & diarrheal diseases that could be set in our nation’s past. The time is now. Through a joint effort of EVERY community taking up behavioral changes, like hand washing & stopping open defecation; paired with unwavering & committed support from passionate state leaders, like @edu_betta of Cross River, working to bring Nigeria & her youth to her fullest and brightest potential, we can DO this. I came to Nigeria with @glblctzn & @nationalgeo new docuseries #ACTIVATE with a single focus in mind: our nation’s children. They are our future, our citizens. They stand where I once stood. The future is what they will inherit. Let’s make it a future worth more than gold.” #Repost from @uzoaduba#WorldWaterDay
